In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

What has your anti-immigration post to do with the thread?

and you’re exactly the reason Reform are doing so well, calling posts like this, expressing concern, anti immigration posts.

If it wasn't religion it would be something else, unfortunately.

OP unfortunately for you and your passionate advocacy, I think this terrorist murder in Manchester has swayed opinion in this country. People have realised that these continued marches which quite openly calling for the destruction of Israel and Jews are emboldening Islamic terrorists. Meanwhile you and your fellow handmaidens are cheering them on.

I wonder how you, as presumably a female, would get on living under an islamic regime.

Jewish communities have been living peacefully among us for centuries, just getting on with life. We offered safe haven to Jewish people fleeing persecution and pogroms in mainland Europe. Now they live in fear in their own country. Are you telling me that if the Israeli government were to stop their current path, all would be well again? Jewish people in this country would not have to have security at their schools and synagogues? All the marchers would pack up and go home?

Because I don't believe this.

No I won't go on your matches, and I will continue to call out antisemitism when I see it.

spot on

Grammarnut · 04/10/2025 15:20

The people in those pictures of Gaza do not look to be starving. The anniversary of the massacre of Oct 7th is in a few days - that is proven genocide. Meanwhile, pictures of the remaining hostages show them to be starved and no-one is protesting much about that. Many of the women taken hostage were raped whilst in captivity, too. Both of these acts is a war crime.
I want the war to end. I do not like civilians being killed - but whose fault is that? Hamas - who wear no uniforms (a war crime) and hide among civilians (a war crime) and who even the UN now agrees have been stealing the food aid sent by Israel and the international community (a war crime, I should think!).

Have you been then? See I have. 20 years ago now. I visited a friend who was studying at the university of Ramallah. I remember lovely people. Perhaps you have been there more recently?

Ramallah is in the West Bank. Not Gaza. Not run by Hamas. I’m sure you must know that. It just feels odd that you’d group them together.

You don’t think it is? It says Mass immigration and multiculturalism is destroying the country.
So yes, my opinion is that it is an anti-immigration post not relevant to the thread.
Of course, you’re perfectly entitled to a different one.

No called out for disengaging with me because you cannot articulate what in my post makes me a terrorist supporter.

How are the hostages meant to be fed when aid is being blocked? Trucks of food are being ripped apart by settlers to prevent the aid reaching Gaza.
The only proven genocide is the one that's been declared in Gaza. There's a decaled famine in Gaza.

What about Yemen? 10 x the amount of people killed there than in Gaza. Why is no one marching for them?

I wonder why? 🤔

Nah, they'll just conveniently ignore that because they can't blame the Jews for that. The silence when it's Muslims murdering people in other countries or causing absolute misery to the women of Afghanistan is deafening.

The aid is being diverted by Hamas.

Fuck me the internet is a depressing place.

People like the OP have become so utterly convinced of their own moral rightness and they have an utter belief that they are on the right side of history and that there are absolutely no grey areas. It's like that idiotic statement of George W Bush's back in 2001: "You're either for us or against us"

Pro Palestine = GOOD
Any other view = BAD

willathewisp · 04/10/2025 15:26

I do not understand why some of you continue to conflate Jewish people with Israel's genocide. Surely this is the most anti-semitic thing one can do.

I have seen with my own eyes Jewish people protesting for Palestine, holding placards explaining how their family history of genocide compels them to speak out against this one. I have seen and heard my local Rabbi, Elhanan Beck, speak out for Palestine and attend student demonstrations. I have seen footage of young Israelis bravely defying their government and risking arrest.

Please remember that the conventions put in place after the Holocaust to protect people from crimes against humanity are currently being reversed by the Israeli government.

Half of Gaza's population is under the age of 18. Over 20,000 children have been killed in 23 months. I cannot describe the details of the reports I have read from medical aid workers on here: they would be removed by MN. I feel physically heartbroken every day.

Every moral citizen I know (luckily everyone I know) is grieving.

You know that Hamas steal the aid, right? Then they sell it to their people at vastly inflated prices.

You know that Israel has been supplying much of that aid, right? If Gazans are starving, it's not down to Israel.

I mean, I feel like you should know these facts. It sounds like you've got caught up in a lot of Hamas propaganda.

I'll be showing my support tomorrow - at a Friends of Israel event in Manchester.

Same. I’d never been on a march before until I went on one after the 7th October.

Why do you ask? Is the grey area BAD?

I did a history degree. Historians tend to be able to everything in shades of grey and appreciate nuance.

I mean, I wish I was as moral and certain and good and sure of myself as you are, obviously.

There is a time and a place ... this weekend after what has happened and coming up to the 7 October this isn’t the right time I believe

It's the right time for those whose real interest is creating yet more offence and distress to jews though, @HRTQueen, and unfortunately there are far too many of them on these marches

No, I'm asking if you believe yourself to be in the grey area of "there's wrong in both sides and no one should be killed" or if you're the reverse of what you advised me of being.
Being pro Palestine isn't being anti Jewish.
