In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

As someone living in Manchester I’d quite like the police force to be focussing on keeping me and everyone else safe from terrorist nut jobs instead of splitting their time between that and policing yet another fucking march by the socialist workers party but what do I know? Imagine if people had practical, sensible reasons for wanting you to give it a fucking rest for a couple of days? As well as some compassion but I see that doesn’t extend to British Jews.

I’m not even going to start on the antisemitism as it’s rife in these discussions and the wide eyed denial of it is sickening.

ilod · 04/10/2025 13:55

but yeah, well done to all those protesters, out en masse legitimising a terrorist group. Hamas played a blinder.

Well, yes, it is 'my preferred term' because no sane person just kills someone for having different views. The heavily brainwashed (radicalised) and fascists do that. Remember Charlie Kirk?

I'm aware my views are unpalatable to most, which is why I'm very, very restrained.

Edited

Well I think most people agree that no sane person kills other for their views so not sure what is so controversial about that. Just didn’t understand why you link directly to British children. I don’t personally see the link.

More hyperbole. The governments of Israel and the US publicly confirmed such rumours were false a long time ago.
Your bigotry against an entire population has poisoned you.
Islamophobia is as evil as anti-Semitism.

Bigotry for being fearful of a population where over half support Hamas and your reply is a pathetic whining " Oh it's outdated". That's not bigotry

I have said quite the opposite. Many innocent Palestinians had little choice but to openly support Hamas 18 months ago, when they had something still worth living for. That was self-preservation.
So many have now lost everything. As a result, with nothing else to lose, more and more are voicing their opposition, publicly. Incredibly brave. Quite the opposite of self-preservation.

I have been here since the beginning of MN. Please feel free to report if you feel I am not a genuine poster. I am not a “parody” account and for you to say as much because I don’t share your views is frankly desperate.
I shan’t be engaging with you any more.

That you deny the existence of Islamophobia is very strange and does nothing for the fight against antisemitism. Both are legitimate.

I am Jewish and I am protesting against the genocide in Gaza. There are many Jewish people protesting.

protest against Hamas then, the terrorist organisation voted in by Palestine. They don’t want a solution to this; they want to remove Jews, ie you, from the face of the earth. They state this freely.

SALaw · 04/10/2025 13:59

What other oppressions etc do you protest about?

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 04/10/2025 14:00

Icreatedausernameyippee · 04/10/2025 01:10

The marches are for the liberation of Palestine, not against Jewish people.

Yes you keep telling yourself that.
We see you.

The protests were arranged before the Manchester attack
People protesting are not doing so in support of the attack , that’s ridiculously misunderstood

Why do you assume it’s all about Jewish people, why do some people have to always think it’s all about them.

The Jewish religion and Jewish people are irrelevant to the protests. Netanyahu and his Government are the perpetrators of genocide and them alone.
The protests support peace

My post is not about Jewish people. Nor making it all ‘about them’. You’re projecting. It’s about the Islamic religion, and Jihad. But you’ve totally misunderstood, which leads me to believe you don’t know what it means, and therefore have no idea of the consequences of enabling it.

Palestinians don’t want to “remove Jews”, for goodness sake. Again, this does nothing for our legitimate fight against antisemitism.

Protesting the Palestinian genocide does not equate to Antisemitism and it is antisemitic to assume all Jews want to wipe out the nation of Palestine.

For the PP who asked, I have protested most recently for Congo, Sudan and Gaza. No genocide is ok. No different to when my parents protested against the Iraq war and other massacres.

Justiceeternal · 04/10/2025 14:01

I do wonder sometimes if there is any point arguing with zionists/pro Israelis. They are wilfully ignorant and indoctrinated to believe everything Israel says is the truth. They do not have the capacity to do any research and have been spoon fed everything they do know and have no critical thinking whatsoever. There has been multitudes of evidence of the war crimes committed but they still deny it. The tide IS turning. Israel will never again be able to fool everyone into thinking they are the good guys - only the sheep they have indoctrinated.

Yup we carry on marching. Glad this thread is still up and OP is showing more patience and grace that most of you deserve.

Most of you iTs aBOut cOmpAssIOn ass clowns have none of this for the people of Gaza, mostly children, being slaughtered en masse, nor for fleers of war coming here on boats, nor Black and brown people who have to navigate racism daily. Heck you barely care about posters on here who share their vulnerable experiences with motherhood and marriage. But today you are constables of compassion. Okay 🤡

You sound very bigoted.

No belief system is immune to criticism but that doesn’t mean we can discriminate against Muslims for their belief system.

and this issue is not related to Muslims vs Jews. Everyone should be protesting against Israel’s actions. How many ancient churches has Israel destroyed recently? I have so many Palestinian Christian friends who are horrified.

Hamas are grateful for you I’m sure

The same way you’re expecting Netanyahu to give you a pat on the back?

Icreatedausernameyippee · 04/10/2025 14:04

No, I'm not denying or defending anything. I asked a question.
I asked because I've never actually seen these images.

But I have seen this.

In December 2023, Haaretz published the results of a comprehensive investigation into the violence of October 7. The conclusion was that while Hamas had committed real "atrocities" that day, some of the extreme acts attributed to the group never happened and were fueling denialism about October 7. Although Hamas had desecrated or dismembered the bodies of some Israelis, these belonged for the most part to fallen soldiers, the article said.[8]
Netanyahu's claim to Biden that Hamas "took dozens of children, tied them up, burned them and executed them" also proved false, since, "There is no evidence that children from several families were murdered together".[8]
Haaretz and other media outlets have established one Israeli baby was indeed killed that day – Mila Cohen, who was shot in her mother's arms in the Be'eri kibbutz (and therefore not in Kfar Aza).[8][19] One other infant fatality occurred as a result of the attack — a baby who was delivered post-mortem and perished two days after its mother's death by gunshot.[4][8] As such, the story of the baby being thrown into the hot oven — told by the United Hatzalah president Eli Beer at a November 2023 donor conference in the US — must also be untrue, concluded the paper.[8]
Al Jazeera's Investigative Unit (I-Unit) also produced a forensic analysis of 7 October, released in March 2024. It confirmed that Hamas had committed abuses in its attack, but also found that "many" stories about its actions were false and that some fatalities on the Israeli side had in fact been the result of IDF action. Among the fake claims were "the mass killing and beheading of babies as well as allegations of widespread and systematic rape".[20] The document refutes claims by the Israeli military that the burned bodies of eight babies were found in a house in kibbutz Be'eri. Not only were there no babies in that house, but "the 12 people inside were almost certainly killed by Israeli forces when they stormed the building", I-Unit concludes.[20]

you’re trying to separate Palestinians from Hamas. They voted then in, they’re in support of them ffs.

A million percent agree and I will be at the next March. I go to as many as I can. As a Christian Arab from the Levant region find it important to support my people.

Well you would be better off going there to support your people, than causing issues here for your people as these types of marches are only causing anti immigrant sentiment to increase.

Oh I am old enough to have attended maaany demonstrations and many not involving any Jewish people (because that is your very clever point here isn’t it.)
