In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

The protests support peace.

They've got a funny way of showing it.

You sound very bigoted.

No belief system is immune to criticism but that doesn’t mean we can discriminate against Muslims for their belief system.

and this issue is not related to Muslims vs Jews. Everyone should be protesting against Israel’s actions. How many ancient churches has Israel destroyed recently? I have so many Palestinian Christian friends who are horrified.

Gay people, women, atheists, people who criticise the prophet, Jewish people aren't bigots - they're understandly terrified of a belief system. Half of British muslims want Homosexuality to be made illegal, a third want Sharia law and a third think women should always obey their husbands. That's not bigotry - it's terrifying https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1885871/british-muslims-support-hamas-israel-war

Shocking survey shows how many British Muslims sympathise with Hamas

A new survey found that nearly half - 46 percent - of British Muslims sympathise with Hamas while a third wished for Shariah law to be implemented in the UK

Well I think most people agree that no sane person kills other for their views so not sure what is so controversial about that. Just didn’t understand why you link directly to British children. I don’t personally see the link.

The UAE doesn't tolerate the nutters that pray openly in the street and block roads and thoroughfares. They tend to get beatings from the police. It's not like they pray silently in their heads (the British police (twice) arrested a Christian lady for silently praying outside an abortion clinic). Muslims have prayer mats and prostrate themselves in the open street. Some areas in India don't tolerate it, either. We know a lot of Islamic radicalisation occurs in Mosques and prisons in Britain. So when Muslim children in Britain travel to the UAE, the authorities there turn them back as they don't want what we tolerate over there.

The link is extremism and unstable mental state, often bred from, yep, you guessed it..... radicalisation!

Just texted a few Muslim friends and asked if they were interviewed for this poll. None of them have lol. How many Muslims were interviewed for this?

I am sure if I picked a few Christians I could say British Christians want to ban sex before marriage and make church compulsory.

you’re trying to separate Palestinians from Hamas. They voted then in, they’re in support of them ffs.

You are suggesting that every Palestinian civilian supports Hamas? That’s clearly nonsense.
We have a Labour government in the UK. If you are in the UK, that must mean you support and voted for Labour.
Though of course you weren’t at risk of life-threatening reprisal if it were subsequently discovered that you didn’t.

Well I have lots of Muslim friends who holiday and also live in the UAE (moved from uk) so not sure what you are on about .

I am glad the woman praying outside annabortion clinic was removed. FFS

I wouldn’t want to be homosexual living in certain Christian African nations, either.

totally agree OP.

the terrorist attack in Manchester was horrible and indefensible.

However, it doesn't change the fact that a genocide is ongoing in Gaza and we should turn the other way.

Edited

If you say something is “horrible and indefensible” and follow it with a “however”, you don’t really think it’s horrible and indefensible.

Try telling some of the people posting here that they must have voted Tory at some point when the Tories were in power… don’t think that would go down well!

The 9-11 attacks were horrible and indefensible, however it is no excuse for the rampant Islamophobia (Muslims are terrorists) and antisemitism (Jews control everything) that occurred soon after.

Are you rolling out your GCSE English analysing skills. I am not sure if it occured to you that two things can be true at the same time (indefensible attack and the fact that a genocide is ongoing). Some people seem to conflate the two issues. What do you think about the protects? should the happen or not and if not, why not?.

Are gay people Islamophobes for fearing Islam where over half of British muslims condemn them wanting their lifestyle to be illegal. Are women who don't wish to obey their husbands in every matter islamophobes where 1/3 of muslims have those beliefs. Are people Islamophobes who don't want sharia law,a belief system which treats women like dogs and other demographics. Are they all just filthy islmophobic bigots? There are numerous other egs

There is absolutely no justification for the actions of the Israeli government.

There is absolutely no justification for what the Hamas government is doing.

But you don't want to think about that. Too hard. And sowing division is so much more fun. Easy virtue signalling - even better! 🙄

PropertyD · 04/10/2025 14:20

Definitely not. Shame on the protesters who think what they are protesting about trumps everything else. When the police are manning this they are not able to do other things. Why couldn’t you have at least postponed this.

It’s disgraceful.

Some of the Palestinian men, women and children.
Do you honestly believe those women and children had any real choice?
Disgusting that some of the population did. Should go without saying.
Do you find that West Bank settlers gather on the border to celebrate each time rockets hit their targets in Gaza equally disgusting (and I’ve no doubt whatsoever that many of those women and children - we’ll all of the children, certainly - are equally coerced).
All religious extremist are equally dangerous and disgusting.

Yes, it's wrong.
A small portion are actively trying to help.
A good portion is looking on in horror.
A portion are looking on in apathy.

As a genocide is committed for all to see.

I think this is what jumps out at me the most on this thread. Some people cannot get their heads around that 2 things can be true at the same time.

For example, I think BOTH the Israeli government and Hamas are dangerous war criminals. I am continually saying that, but no I am still being called a Hamas supporter on here. It’s like talking to those Bots who don’t read your actual message and respond with something irrelevant.

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 04/10/2025 14:21

Icreatedausernameyippee · 04/10/2025 11:32

"Why do you care to look beyond the end of your nose when I do not care to look beyond the end of mine?"

I care personally because I have a teenage son of Palestinian decent. I care because every child that's murdered in Palestine reminds me of him. Beyond that I care because people, innocent men women and children, are being slaughtered.
I cared before October 7th. I've been speaking out against the monstrous actions of Israel for 15 years.
That's why I care.

So why aren’t you protesting against Hamas who would not give two fucks about you or your son and would use them as cannon fodder.
