In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

This protest was anger of U.K. inaction over the humanitarian flotilla
It had nothing to do with the Manchester attack

The reality is the people supporting Palestine wouldn't last 5 minutes there before October 7th - a terrorist run hellhole with no human rights, no safety for women or children compared to Israel - a country with low crime, low rapes, low murders etc. "Free Palestine " .. utterly clueless

Have you been then? See I have. 20 years ago now. I visited a friend who was studying at the university of Ramallah. I remember lovely people. Perhaps you have been there more recently?

BeNattyKoala · 04/10/2025 13:20

Bananadramaa · 04/10/2025 13:17

Yes I mean you are misinformed about Israel not deliberately targeting innocent people in Palestine for decades.

Edited

They don't target "innocent people in Palestine for decades", they target terrorists which is what Palestine is - a terrorist state. The democratically elected government is HAMAS ffs - do you think that would ever happen in Israel? The proof of how civilised any country is compare the living / human rights records in both not " I read a report of a soldier doing xyz". You're defending a state which literally wants Israel wiped off the face of the Earth

Cool anecdotal story - do you think any sane person would say over the last 20 years women or children would be safer living in Palestine than Israel..is that what you actually think, that Hamas is a more reputable government looking after its citizens than the one Israel has?

Innocent lives are always caught up in war, if you think the IDF deliberately kill women and children you're falling for the same propagandist bs the green haired pronoun ghouls on the pro palestine march believe

Willfully ignorant, truly.
If several teen boys are showing up with their testicles shot, are we truly to believe that's not intentional?
Everyone knows that Israel has sophisticated technology and weaponry. So how to children on a beach, in the open, end up dead instead the actual targets if it's not intentional?

Why is this peace loving democracy not giving back the illegal settlements? And why is this peace loving perfect democracy not allowing journalists into Gaza. Journalists who would happily sign waivers saying they take full responsibilities for their lives?

I don’t think I can discuss anything with you as you are either not very knowledgeable or just deny the truth. Israeli soldiers have killed Palestinian children playing in their garden, on beaches, on their way to school. Please educate yourself.

They are protests for peace and against genocide
If that means they are antisemitic then your understanding of the word needs re addressing

Attempts on social media to shut this down by shaming people with this anti semitic argument are pointless
We all understand

You can minimise all you like. We've all seen the 'River to the Sea' chants, the tearing down of Jewish hostage posters, people dressed up as Hamas, offensive signs etc.

Because their sheer stupidity and aggressive posturing are opening the eyes of more and more about their true motives, and the call is growing louder that they should be held to account.

Absolutely this.

Israel has the right to exist and for its people to live safely — for me that’s not in dispute. But Palestinians also have that same right, which has been systematically denied for decades through occupation, settlement expansion, military control, and displacement. Wanting Palestinian rights recognised isn’t the same as “wanting Israel destroyed.”

Criticism of political Zionism — the policies and practices of the Israeli state (particularly this current Israeli coalition led by the most morally upright President)— isn’t the same as antisemitism. Many Jewish people themselves criticise Zionism as it’s been applied by the Israeli government. Opposing apartheid, occupation, or ethnic cleansing doesn’t equate to hating Jewish people.

Atrocities in countries like Syria, Yemen, and Sudan have rightly been widely condemned by human rights groups and international media. Acknowledging Palestinian suffering doesn’t erase other tragedies — people are capable of caring about multiple injustices at once. These wars/atrocities/conflicts do not get called a genocide as it doesn’t meet the legal definition.

When thousands of civilians — especially children — are being killed in a besieged, blockaded area with nowhere safe to go, it crosses the line from “war” to crimes against humanity. Many international legal experts, UN officials, and human rights bodies have said the scale and nature of Israel’s actions in Gaza meets the definition of genocide. Intent matters — but so does disproportionate force and collective punishment.

Hamas have committed war crimes — there’s no question about that. But conflating all Palestinians with Hamas is inaccurate and dangerous. Most Palestinians are civilians who want to live freely and safely, not participants in violence.

There is a massive power imbalance - Israel is one of the most militarily advanced countries on earth, backed by billions in U.S. aid. Palestinians, meanwhile, live under occupation and blockade. Saying “Israel could wipe them out but doesn’t” isn’t a moral defense — it underscores how asymmetrical the situation is. And Israel does not need to have all Palestinians murdered for that to be a genocide - look at the example of Bosnia where under 10,000 boys/men were murdered a this was a genocide.

More nonsense, I never see a single march in Europe or the UK for Yemen or Sudan or Nigeria because it doesn't involve Jewish people despite the number of deaths in those countries being far higher - why do you think that is?When it is muslims murdering other muslims or Christians suddenly the genocides are ignored for some reason

As for "occupation" the palestinians are the occupiers as has been explained numerous times. Over half of Palestinians support Hamas which has murdered, tortured and raped women/babies yet they're the good guys? www.middleeasteye.net/news/war-gaza-poll-shows-palestinian-support-hamas-still-high-despite-mounting-death-toll

No I will not. Zionism means an Israel home for their women and children not an evil word to be condemned. Palestine is a state run by a terrorist organisation and most people on here wouldn't last 5 minutes in a place like Palestine with the human rights record there regardless of any war. Jewish people are quiet friendly people who integrate in western countries as are supposed " zionists" who simply want to live in a tiny country which is smaller than Wales. Look at Israel on a map - a tiny country where the people there wish to live in peace without their women and children butchered at a music festival.

Jewish people have lived in Israel for 3 thousand years long before the muslim caliphate invaded it in the 7th century murdering the people there -leave Israel alone you disgusting people. Israel is the homeland of Jewish people who lived there for 2500 years before Islam was even created.

This is pure manipulation and propaganda. And the zionists who constantly repeat this know that very well. Palestinians are not terrorists, they are not bad people. They are normal people who have children, dreams, hopes, ambitions, feelings etc. The Zionist government have relentlessly fed the world lies for 76 years and now that people are waking up and realising that, the zionists are panicking. The Zionists are and always have been the aggressors.

Of course everyone should and will continue to protest because no matter how much you try to twist reality, the majority of people don’t want to see mass slaughter of any persons. These days we have access to a more free media and social media and people have seen the truth.
