In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

Surely no one can be this stupid " Israel didn't exist before 1930s". You realise practically every country on Earth didn't exist in its current format with changing names and even boundaries over the years. What part of Jewish people have been living in the area of Palestine thousands of years before Islam was even invented as a religion isn't sinking in?

The muslims " didn't welcome them with open arms". The Islamic caliphate invaded Israel many centuries earlier butchering Jewish women and children which was common with all Islamic caliphates. You say the "Jews wanted the land for themselves "... maybe because they have inhabited the area for 3000 years and it is their land. Please do some proper research instead of exposing your ignorance on here. Your anti Jewish rhetoric is shining through talking about hatred towards muslims when it was muslims who murdered, tortured and raped Jewish people. Stop your nonsense - Palestine has been a hellhole of deplorable human rights for centuries compared to Israel which leads the world in many areas such as medicine and research.

RememberBeKindWithKaren · 04/10/2025 12:26

Not sure that the timing is appropriate but yes we should be protesting. Genocide, ethnic cleansing, whatever the correct term, it's happening and future generations won't understand our indifference. This doesn't excuse the actions of Hamas which have also been abhorrent.. An eye for an eye is leaving a lot of people blind.

Hamas have agreed to release hostages on several occasions and Israel have declined.

Agree this could have been over a long time ago. The deal at the beginning of the year was agreed by both sides and Israel pulled out after the release of the first stage of hostages. To go to the next stage meant Israel had to start pulling out the IDF. Netanyahu chose continued war over getting their hostages back
My worry is they’ll do exactly the same again once the remaining hostages are released

I’m very concerned this deal is nothing more than a smoke screen.

The argument you’re making actually supports the exact point you’re criticising. If ancient historical claims to land justify modern ownership, then by that logic Native Americans and Aboriginal Australians would also have the right to reclaim their lands and displace current populations - we know that is not going to happen and anyone who suggests it will be told they’re mad.

The history of the Middle East — like the histories of colonisation everywhere — is full of violence and suffering on all sides. Pointing fingers across centuries doesn’t help the people who are suffering right now. We can recognise Israel’s right to exist while also caring about the rights and dignity of Palestinians. Both truths can coexist.

Why can’t the Israeli government who are so certain of their moral superiority not allowing journalists in?

I think it is possible to be disgusted, outraged and devastated by the Manchester Attacks and still strongly disagree with the killing of so many children and civillians in the Gaza Strip. Equally, I think it is possible to be horrified by the October 7th attacks and also feel that the situation in Gaza has now become completely unconscionable. It is possible to criticise Hamas without being an Islamaphobe and to criticise the Israeli Government without being an Antisemite.

Unfortunately I feel many of those who attend the pro Palestine marches are indeed Anti Semetic. I feel heartbroken that extremists on all sides continue to damage hope of peace. In terms of the OPs request that people attended marches for Palestine this weekend, I think that in respect of the Jewish Community it should be cancelled. That does not mean I believe that everyone who wishes to March for Gaza is Antisemitic, but those who are will continue to use this tragic situation to push their own agenda.

My heart goes out to all the British Jews who are feeling scared and under attack today. ✡️

Wrong
Many of those who attend the marches are
Not anti Semitic and most are not even remotely interested in the Jewish religion because it’s irrelevant to them and their right to march for peace

They are sympathetic to all those affected by the war and the ongoing genocide.

They want the war to stop, fully

You forgot anti semitism.

Jewish people are defined by ethnicity as well as religion which makes it racist to criticise someone for being jewish - muslims are defined by religion alone as they can originate from anywhere. No one is genetically muslim or any religion, you can be genetically Jewish - criticism of genetics is inherently racist. You can't be racist criticising any religion. Criticising someone for their genetic makeup is ignorance and racist, criticising a religion with facts to substantiate the criticism isn't "bigotry" or "phobia".

Last time I checked in the modern era, Americans weren't raping or murdering native Americans - infact they are living peacefully in the west of the USA in numerous areas so your attempt to draw parallels between the two fails.

These protests achieve absolutely nothing other than intimidating British Jews.

MyHeartyCoralSnail · 04/10/2025 12:41

If you want to continue with something which is causing fear and intimidation to Jews in this country, if you want to continue stretching al the resources of ab already overstretched police’s force,, if you want to support and bolster a terrorist regime which is responsible for multiple human rights violations go ahead.

If you care so much about the casualties of war maybe protest for the ending of the war in Ukraine which has far higher levels of casualties.

FROM FROM FROM HAMAS, FOREVER.

Yes free from Hamas and free from an apartheid state.

Surely you can do a little research and see that Israel was occupying and abusing Palestinians long before Hamas even existed. Palestinians were expelled from their homes in 1948, lived under military rule inside Israel until 1966, and have been under Israeli occupation since 1967 — facing land seizures, checkpoints, and home demolitions for decades. Hamas was born in 1987, as a reaction to that ongoing oppression, not the cause of it.

In this country we have a right to protest and a right to Freedom of Speech

StarlightRobot · 04/10/2025 12:42

It is in appalling taste to protest today and shows an overwhelming lack of sensitivity towards Jewish people in the UK. The conclusion I draw for this lack of empathy is that the protestors are antisemitic. They can show me otherwise by respecting the PM’s words today and putting their protest on hold, in solidarity for the many Jewish people living in fear in the UK.

Bumblebee72 · 04/10/2025 12:43

I don't think anyone should be trying to influence anyones right to protest. Either for or against. If people feel the need to protest to express their view it is entirely up to them, as long as they are peaceful.

ViolaPlains · 04/10/2025 12:44

It’s inciting hate and murder and it’s not peaceful. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Twoboysandabengal · 04/10/2025 12:44

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 04/10/2025 01:16

Our idiot PM might have but the people of this country haven’t ,however you want to spin it.
The world is waking up to the political propaganda of people like yourself and it is glorious to laugh at and be seen through.

You can spin it all you like, but you will be forced to put it in your pipe and smoke it 😜. It’s something the barbaric Israeli government were so against, as ofcourse they are trying to exterminate the Palestinians.
Many other countries have followed suit, quit watching the Israeli news and rather watch the world news. It might make you wake up a bit. Peace out ✌🏻 if you know the meaning of it

Your posts don't make any sense, a few minutes ago you were saying that the middle East is full of colonisations and bloodshed on all sides, but cherry pick 1948 out of the hat ignoring the fact the Islamic Rashidun caliphate invaded Israel where jewish people had been living 1500 years previously. The name of a country is irrelevant if people were living there for millennia
