Their stuff looks lovely (online on skinny models anyway) - have heard a few good things recently as i had written them off a few years ago. Anyone use them and happy with the product, quality, returns etc

i hate online clothes shop but the high street/town centers are dead in many places now so options are really limited often to just M&S, Next, H&M or Primark

I don’t like them normally, but I just bought an outfit for a gig and I’m astounded and how good it is tbh.

the problem is, I see a lot of retailers resell the exact same product for more.

BellaEllaWella · 18/08/2025 12:37

I judge people who buy from Shein and Temu

ChaiLarious · 18/08/2025 12:38

Letgoofmyblank · 18/08/2025 12:35

Dire ethics, dire quality. I’d absolutely judge anyone who bought that shite.

I'm sat here at work in my Shein/Tik Tok shop outfit (everything except the bra), drinking out of my Temu mug and glass and cooling myself down with my Temu desk top fan. Feel free to judge but please not, I give no fucks.

Lafufufu · 18/08/2025 12:38

Its a no from me.
Their stuff is trash.

I buckled and bought a selection of farm rio knock offs and a few well reviewed dresses..

Everything ame smelled vile, looked vile and went in the bin.

Just garbage quality and that ignores how awful it is for UK economy/ environment / humans (the chemicals in those clothes!!!)

MrsBungle · 18/08/2025 12:39

I’ve got loads of shein stuff. The quality is absolutely no worse than next!

You say that like it means something 😅

The snobbery and barely disguised racism on this thread is hilarious, god forbid the poors have clothes that aren’t from Boden or M&S 😂
They are too good for such things on this site OP

DaisyChain505 · 18/08/2025 13:00

Please watch “buy now” on Netflix.

ChrisMartinsKisskam · 18/08/2025 13:12

I use them for holiday stuff bikinis / dresses / beach stuff and it’s always been fine
Just had some stuff arrive this weekend and I’ve got more on the way
prefer Terry to SHEIN
but SHEIN is quicker on delivery

got a refund from SHEIN a few weeks ago as an order hadn’t arrived despite yodal saying it had and they refunded me straight away then it turned up a week later so I message them to sai it had arrived and they didn’t charge me for it

the bikinis are pretty decent quality
and fit fine

i do however freeze my credit card inbetween use so that no one can use it for fraud

Corfumanchu · 18/08/2025 13:17

Oh no! You judge them! I bet that stops them in their tracks!

I'd love for you to try to justify why you think holding entirely legitimate concerns about the moral failings and environmental impact of goods from sellers such as Temu is "barely disguised racism".

Mrsbloggz · 18/08/2025 13:19

ExtraOnions · 18/08/2025 11:28

Slave Labour using, credit card number harvesting, environmental disasters, vomiting out badly made shite.

This!

safetyfreak · 18/08/2025 13:20

Some of their stuff ok,

I have a couple of lovely dresses and jean jackets are good quality.

However, a lot of their tops are cheap material.

I did recently buy a nice dress off amazon, couldn't believe it lol.

Maddy70 · 18/08/2025 13:20

I use it fairly often. Some stuff is lovely some isn't (very often cheap fabric). But some really nice stuff too. Just send it back If you don't like it. It's worth a go!

SemperIdem · 18/08/2025 13:22

allmycats · 18/08/2025 11:39

I work in a charity shop and we get so much of this crap in and people won’t buy it at £1 per item. A lot of the fabric seems to have some sort of coating on it. Did a burn 🔥 test on a dress and it burned with a massive flame and black smoke and the fabric was a sticky congealed mess, would have stuck to skin. It needs banning from importing to the UK

That is horrifying, especially when considering people will put their children in Shein clothes.

ThatNiftyLimeCat · 18/08/2025 12:34

Well I love them. I buy a lot from there as I love fast fashion and I’ve never had any problems 🤷‍♀️

This, I have had lovely items which I have been complimented on even a dress I wore to a wedding. They do a lot of lovely plus size items which you couldn't find anywhere else. Read the reviews. Returns are free and easy.

NOresponsibility · 18/08/2025 13:30

I dont like shein but i am a temu fan.

flameprincess · 18/08/2025 13:32

I like that their plus size clothing has such a wide range as opposed to the high street who assume anyone over a size 16 loves cold shoulders and butterfly print.

So I do have a few things from there BUT the quality of some of it is shocking and it's really 50/50 on if you're going to get something decent or not.

dottiedodah · 18/08/2025 13:41

I tend to buy on Ebay mostly .Monsoon tops/dresses on sale or used.Everything I have ordered is clean and pressed ,wrapped in tissue often as well.I think its great .DD has ordered from Shein (against my wishes I may add! Has stopped now due to poor quality and the horrific conditions ) We need to look at more sustainable clothing .A programme we watched shows a beautiful part of the desert in S America piled with clothes! just awful

Daisymae55 · 18/08/2025 13:46

It’s awful.

I personally would never buy from there due to their non existent ethics. However I have altered bits my mum has ordered from them. I agree with a previous poster that the fabric feels like it’s coated in something. It feels nasty, often hangs terribly and is just cheap, nasty tat that’s destined to sit in landfill.

luckylavender · 18/08/2025 13:48

NachoChip · 18/08/2025 11:24

I wouldn't touch Shein with a barge pole as their ethics are one of the worst. I know it's a spectrum and many other stores have questionable practices but their supply chain is particularly hidden and their treatment of workers particularly poor. Shein and Temu... you've got to ask yourself how can they make some much profit with such ridiculously low prices and who is paying the price?

This

TheEllisGreyMethod · 18/08/2025 13:48

PowerfulFishRiver · 18/08/2025 12:33

Why would you assume that about anyone? I don't know anyone who has either of those things, so why would you just guess a stranger on the internet did??

You don't know anyone who owns an iPhone?

Sure, Jan.

smallglassbottle · 18/08/2025 13:49

Never have, never would. They're made from petrochemicals and are very polluting. They're also coated with some unpleasant substances which likely cause cancer and other health problems.

BeCyanSloth · 18/08/2025 13:50

I bought a couple of bits for my 10 year old Dd and when she put them on I told her to take them off immediately as the tops were practically see through
we are from a low income family but I’d rather buy better quality items that will last my child than buy clothing that are just unsuitable
