To be so fed up amd disheartened with all the xenophobia

Honestly, I’m just feeling worn out and heartbroken lately. It seems like racism and xenophobia are becoming more and more mainstream again, wrapped up in the same tired scare stories, whether it’s splashed across a tabloid or coming straight out of Farage’s mouth. Then you see stupid threads on here about civil war trying to stir up more hate.

Even my own brother has started sounding like Tommy Robinson. Ten years ago, that would’ve been unthinkable. It’s like people have completely forgotten the lies we were sold during Brexit—by Farage, Tice and their crowd—and yet they’re still lapping up everything they say. No critical thought, just blind anger pointed in the wrong direction.
I’m so fed up with the endless nonsense about small boats, “white minorities,” and all the rest of it. It’s all designed to divide us, stoke hate, and distract from the real culprits—rubbish politicians, broken policies, and the ultra-wealthy hoarding resources while the rest of us struggle.

But instead of looking upwards, it’s always “blame Johnny Foreigner.” It’s exhausting, and frankly terrifying how quickly people fall for it.

Is anyone else feeling this? How are you managing conversations when even close family seem to be buying into this stuff? I’m trying to stay compassionate, but it’s getting harder to bite my tongue.

You haven’t debated. You’ve said the men are upset people wave flags and therefore rape children, and that their home countries are so dangerous they are forced to flee leaving their wives and kids there unprotected for years. And that pointing all of this out, as well as the dozens of asylum seeker rapes and attacks this year, is ‘racist’.

I'm talking about refugees as in being PEOPLE.
If we haven't been in their shoes, how can we say what it's like and what we'd do.

I stopped because I’ve read the same arguments multiple times from different people and I have responded most of the time, but it never does any good, there is literally no ‘reasonable debate’ with people with your views that are so strongly entrenched, no matter how much you think there is.

The OBR released a huge report yesterday demonstrating that immigration is making us much poorer as a nation because most migrants take out far more in government services than they put in as tax contributors. Well the single men in the hotel near me don't seem to be able to curb their desires. Sadly the answer isn't to send them back it's to move the women and children out. Many (not all before someone jumps on me) have no respect for women and girls. They are the ones not welcome here.

British citizens are dying due to the wait times for urgent medical treatment because NHS Trusts are pissing money down the drain every day, with their diversity and inclusion policies as revealed at the Sandie Peggie Tribunal, mega compensation payouts due to their negligence in any number of areas and the fact that they pay ill-qualified managers huge salaries instead of recruiting enough clinical staff to provide proper patient care. Treating a few hundred children from Gaza with grave and life-changing injuries, many of whom are being covered by private donations, makes no difference to anything.

Thanks to the ill-considered Brexit debacle and the stupidity of the people who voted for it, politics in this country has been in a state of stasis ever since and the last decade has been as good as wasted. I can't believe that people are still listening to cretins like Farage and his self-seeking cohorts who are doing their best to whip up a frenzy that will result in an early general election so they can really apply themselves to totally fucking everything up. Like you OP, I despair and sadly, there's no easy way now to leave the sinking ship that Britain has become.

That’s the issue, they wouldn’t have us and they wouldn’t be putting us up in temporary accommodation until we get processed. Why do you think they pass through so many countries to come here? It’s because the UK is so attractive due to what they can receive when they get here. Citizens who respect rule of law, and care about national security, are not (all) xenophobic and bad.

Should society chose to examine each persons national & cultural origin and punish or reward them for that “theirs” did over the past centuries, millennia is just unrealistic and achieves nothing.

The crime stats, if you've actually looked at them, will be showing you the vast majority of most crime is caused by British born people, not foreign nationals.
