To be so fed up amd disheartened with all the xenophobia

Nohqters · 04/08/2025 21:56

Honestly, I’m just feeling worn out and heartbroken lately. It seems like racism and xenophobia are becoming more and more mainstream again, wrapped up in the same tired scare stories, whether it’s splashed across a tabloid or coming straight out of Farage’s mouth. Then you see stupid threads on here about civil war trying to stir up more hate.

Even my own brother has started sounding like Tommy Robinson. Ten years ago, that would’ve been unthinkable. It’s like people have completely forgotten the lies we were sold during Brexit—by Farage, Tice and their crowd—and yet they’re still lapping up everything they say. No critical thought, just blind anger pointed in the wrong direction.
I’m so fed up with the endless nonsense about small boats, “white minorities,” and all the rest of it. It’s all designed to divide us, stoke hate, and distract from the real culprits—rubbish politicians, broken policies, and the ultra-wealthy hoarding resources while the rest of us struggle.

But instead of looking upwards, it’s always “blame Johnny Foreigner.” It’s exhausting, and frankly terrifying how quickly people fall for it.

Is anyone else feeling this? How are you managing conversations when even close family seem to be buying into this stuff? I’m trying to stay compassionate, but it’s getting harder to bite my tongue.

Perhaps just look at the crime stats and the actual costs associated. Fed up of the racist card thrown out all the time instead of having rationale debate about social and economic impact of taking in tens of thousands of illegals and nearly a million legal immigrants a year !

I am one of those pesky legal immigrants and my life in the UK has been impacted by the growing numbers and increasingly violent behaviours of the local yobs - to reassure you though, all of them holders of the right colour passport.

As if the fucking yobs weren't enough, I'm now back living fucking 2016 Brexit vibes again with the word "immigrant" trotted out every three fucking milliseconds.

Have you people learnt nothing?

I AM your problem? A legal immigrant having never claimed a SINGLE fucking penny in anything, no kids, maybe 3 GP visits a year, educated to PhD level, but I am guilty of the mortal sin of speaking English with a slight accent so now I have to watch my fucking back?

Fuck off.

You can have mine. It's well worn.

At least you've a sense of humour.. appreciated even though we have differing views.
Yours made me chuckle 👍😁

You sound gleeful about the prospect of Reform getting in. Reform, the party led by the compulsive liar that convinced vast swathes of people to vote for Brexit… and look how well that’s worked out. I notice he has the good sense to possess a European passport, though. It beggars belief that, since Brexit, there are more people coming over here in boats than ever -not helped by no longer being part of the Dublin Agreement- and people still believe what he says. He’s witheringly despairing of the government not sending people straight back to Afghanistan and boldly declaring that he would do so. Does anyone believe that Farage is gonna mess with the Taliban and just go ahead and actually attempt to land planes there? Of course not, he’s back on the lies again. It’s easy to lie when you’re not in power and not being held to account. That people still believe anything he says is a triumph of wishful thinking over common sense.

The old farage and brexit post has been arisen again. 😂

Quote "the compulsive liar that convinced vast swathes of people to vote for Brexit" Are you suggesting most brexit voters only voted they way they did because of Farage? So they were not capable of self thought and just a mindless hive mindset?

I don’t know if it is worse or if technology means you cannot escape it.

I understand why people choose to live in bubbles.

And too often the “xenophobia” just seems to extend into general racism. You literally cannot read any comments on a new story now. None. Even something you think is harmless. I saw an article about how, in the USA funding aimed at tackling the maternal health gap is being cut.
You would think that most people would care about women, dead women and dead babies enough to not engage in racism.

I was massively wrong.

I often dream of a world where the racists just find an uninhabited land and all move there and leave the rest of us be.

We cannot hide from the fact we are getting dangerously overpopulated.

Regardless of who it is, immigration is only adding to this.

I wish I could deport the white yobbos but we don’t have that option, and it wouldn’t be right to dump our mess with another country (hence begrudgingly accepting we should take Shamima Begum back).

Yes, Lucy got over a year in prison for a deleted tweet. She didn’t incite - she said she didn’t care if it happened, not ‘everyone go out and do X…’. Meanwhile, convicted paedophiles walk free from court every day.

I never wanted Reform. I blame the mealy mouthed appeasers and gaslighters who have done such a sterling job of dismissing people they feel they have no choice but to turn to people like Richard Tice.

I don't know why people are scared to admit they voted Reform - well you can see why, on here. I am not going to hide my support for them. Or at a meeting with Tice, as one of his constituents, in which I had a fruitful discussion on my recent experience of teaching in an open prison. The party has as much right, as well as its voters, to exercise their free speech. This isn't aimed at you.

Starmer proves it's easy to lie when you're not in power, and even easier, when you are.

Interesting that Starmer is the example you choose to use. I would have thought the notorious lying BJ would be the one that most readily springs to mind. The guy can’t talk without lying. It’s almost like a hobby for him but, sure, let’s go with Starmer.

You can argue that all politicians lie but that man lies like he breathes. They’re easily fact checked and disproven as well. He’s just like his hero Trump. It’s unbelievable and scary how many people are falling for it. He’s such a con man. Playing on people’s fears and emotions to manipulate.

It’s because his followers say they’re interested in reasonable debate but they obviously aren’t, they are interested in things that confirm and cement their existing beliefs and shut down anything that challenges them.

I wouldn’t be scared to say if I was voting reform, but I’m not, for environmental reasons (I’m fine with their immigration stance). I don’t judge those who do, they’re a valid and sensible option as far as our politics goes.

Well this IS our country. And thank fuck it is, as we don’t have a theocracy that stones women to death and treats them as sub human. Let me guess Gaza is for Gazans but the UK is for everyone and the Brits can go to hell if they don’t want to become a melting pot of just about every dictatorship around the world?

Gaza isn't for Gazans though, they've bombed it to smithereens. And which country sowed the seeds of the Israel- Palestine conflict many years ago by colonising Palestine then abruptly withdrawing in 1948 and leaving them to their fate??

Oh it was the UK....you can't then complain about us receiving people from a conflict and problem we've helped create

This. ^ Also sick and tired of the racist/gammon/daily mail reader type comments being slammed out everytime anyone mentions their concerns about illegal immigration, and the UK being expected to accept 10s of 1000s of immigrants a year, whether they're doing it by the book or not.

As someone said, the wokery that has dominated the UK for the past decade and a half is a dying breed, and peope are actually waking up, THAT is why REFORM are so popular - I would never vote for them as they're too far right for me, and I am NOT fucking far right. You don't have to be far right/racist/xenophobic to be concerned about all of the boats coming in. (Or indeed 'right wing' at all...') Anyone saying 'ha ha SURE you're not far right wing/racist/a daily mail reader' or calls me racist/gammon/bigot etc, will be duly ignored.

Many people have had enough. Enough of massive NHS waiting lists, their children not being able to get into their school of choice, having to wait a month and a half for a GP appointment, not being able to access an NHS dentist, and not being able to get social housing.... etc etc... Many people are sick of the way adverts on TV have gone too, and many modern 2010s and 2020s dramas...

@Nohqters You saying 'educate yourself' and 'use critical thinking' to anyone that disagrees with you, is the very reason that people are moving further to the right. Because of patronising, condescending, sneery, and insulting comments like this, aimed at anyone who doesn't agree with your left-wing ranting.

The issue with the NHS/ housing etc is a result of decades of underfunding of our public services. You know that the NHS would collapse of all the migrant workers decided to leave.
Im interested in your comments about TV programmes and adverts. I’m not sure how else that can be spun other than “too many non-white people on the TV” and if that’s the case the I’m not sure how you’d spin that as not being racist?

But the ‘antifa’ types relentlessly march saying Gaza for Gazans. Yet Britain for British is ‘racist and exclusionary’. The bottom line is it’s fine for our ‘asylum seekers’ to seek to preserve their home country and culture while decimating ours; and they’ll be given help to do so from our useful idiots. Hence the 40,000 people under surveillance for Islamic terrorism. Yet despite this horrifying statistic no doubt you want further unvetted immigration from Muslim countries?

Nohqters · 05/08/2025 10:57

You can't colonise half the world, pillage it for resources like the UK has done with its empire, cause conflicts elsewhere in the world and then complain when migrants turn up here. It's hypocrisy

Yes, you are attacking me personally - when posts like these are now shamelessly in the mainstream this impacts my fucking safety. I could be in tescos casually asking my partner what to have for dinner and get attacked for overpopulating your country with my foreign-ness.

Own your fucking history too - the UK literally set sail all across the globe fucking creating an empire, but now it's "ooohh there's too many falafel shops around, whatever will we do"

TL;DR I stand by my fuck off comment.
