To be so fed up amd disheartened with all the xenophobia

1000 replies

Nohqters · 04/08/2025 21:56

Honestly, I’m just feeling worn out and heartbroken lately. It seems like racism and xenophobia are becoming more and more mainstream again, wrapped up in the same tired scare stories, whether it’s splashed across a tabloid or coming straight out of Farage’s mouth. Then you see stupid threads on here about civil war trying to stir up more hate.

Even my own brother has started sounding like Tommy Robinson. Ten years ago, that would’ve been unthinkable. It’s like people have completely forgotten the lies we were sold during Brexit—by Farage, Tice and their crowd—and yet they’re still lapping up everything they say. No critical thought, just blind anger pointed in the wrong direction.
I’m so fed up with the endless nonsense about small boats, “white minorities,” and all the rest of it. It’s all designed to divide us, stoke hate, and distract from the real culprits—rubbish politicians, broken policies, and the ultra-wealthy hoarding resources while the rest of us struggle.

But instead of looking upwards, it’s always “blame Johnny Foreigner.” It’s exhausting, and frankly terrifying how quickly people fall for it.

Is anyone else feeling this? How are you managing conversations when even close family seem to be buying into this stuff? I’m trying to stay compassionate, but it’s getting harder to bite my tongue.

@Brendahollowayreconsider Can you answer please?

what does ‘extreme far right’ mean these days, to you?

I can understand if posters don't want to answer, don't see how repeatedly asking is going to help.
Don't know how used to this type of discussion you are, but "can you define" type questions are never usually asked in good faith.
"Define racism" "define far right" are usually shot down with lengthy mocking posts of why it isn't racist /far right actually, and people's experiences minimised.
It's tiring and don't blame anyone if they don't want to engage with all that nonsense.

NidaNearby · 05/08/2025 10:37

Funny you’re telling people to ‘educate themselves’ when you’re either telling bare-faced lies or are just exceptionally ignorant yourself.

A) There’s this little thing called ‘per capita.’ Nobody is denying the existence of native criminals, but the groups we are importing commit criminal offences, particularly sexual offences, at a significantly higher rate. That is making us all less safe.

B) No, net migration has rocketed because more people are moving here, because of changes made by Boris Johnson’s government. It has nothing whatsoever to do with fewer people leaving.

In 2015, pre-Brexit, 630,000 people moved here and 297,000 left, giving us net migration of 333,000. In 2023, post-Brexit, 1,218,000 people moved here and 532,000 people left, giving us net migration of 686,000.

So net migration has actually doubled even while gross emigration has increased, because gross immigration has doubled.

Perhaps just look at the crime stats and the actual costs associated. Fed up of the racist card thrown out all the time instead of having rationale debate about social and economic impact of taking in tens of thousands of illegals and nearly a million legal immigrants a year !

This. ^ Also sick and tired of the racist/gammon/daily mail reader type comments being slammed out everytime anyone mentions their concerns about illegal immigration, and the UK being expected to accept 10s of 1000s of immigrants a year, whether they're doing it by the book or not.

As someone said, the wokery that has dominated the UK for the past decade and a half is a dying breed, and peope are actually waking up, THAT is why REFORM are so popular - I would never vote for them as they're too far right for me, and I am NOT fucking far right. You don't have to be far right/racist/xenophobic to be concerned about all of the boats coming in. (Or indeed 'right wing' at all...') Anyone saying 'ha ha SURE you're not far right wing/racist/a daily mail reader' or calls me racist/gammon/bigot etc, will be duly ignored.

Many people have had enough. Enough of massive NHS waiting lists, their children not being able to get into their school of choice, having to wait a month and a half for a GP appointment, not being able to access an NHS dentist, and not being able to get social housing.... etc etc... Many people are sick of the way adverts on TV have gone too, and many modern 2010s and 2020s dramas...

@Nohqters You saying 'educate yourself' and 'use critical thinking' to anyone that disagrees with you, is the very reason that people are moving further to the right. Because of patronising, condescending, sneery, and insulting comments like this, aimed at anyone who doesn't agree with your left-wing ranting.

How do you discuss sex attacks in an ‘inflammatory’ way? Is discussing the fact certain men are far more likely to commit a sex attack ‘inflammatory’, and as such we should ignore it and expose women to higher risk for the sake of accommodating men?

If you are grouping them with all "illegals" and inciting violence then yes

Dangermoo · 05/08/2025 10:39

yallahbye · 05/08/2025 10:37

I suggest that all of you who are in favour of the ‘boat people’ take them in personally and house them in your own property. Feed these men (because that’s what they all are!) give them a weekly allowance and trust them around your children and your valuables. Put your bleeding-heart, woke leftist ideology to the test and take them in yourself! Not one of you will do that because you talk the talk but don’t want to walk the walk!
I want to see a poster who has done this and posts about his/her experience. I don’t want to hear that you WOULD do this, because talking about a theoretical faint possibility that will never materialise is worth JACKSHIT!

👏 👏

Some of the horrible, snide, gloaty comments on this thread totally support what the OP is saying. It's become much more acceptable to be openly racist in the guise of being 'anti woke'.

I agree, OP. Brexit made the immigration problem much worse, which has obviously upset people who were expecting Farage et al to fix it. They still think he will even though it's obvious he won't. And the thing is, immigration IS going to get worse, as climate change makes hot countries impossible to live in, and wars in the Middle East displace millions more people. We could look at sensible solutions for dealing with this as it arises - but instead the likes of Farage will just use it to inflame tensions and generally make the country a more unpleasant place for everyone, for the sake of a bit more personal power and money. I feel, unfortunately, that that's where we're headed.

Care to provide some examples from this thread, then and explain a) why have they not been removed and you have not reported them. b) how they fit the definition of racism (not you perceived view).

Who is inciting violence? And how can we tell the difference between a good and bad illegal, with no papers and no past history?

They are all married with children?

Isn’t it a risk that the men are not granted asylum?

Well, yes, but it depends why they are applying for asylum in the first place as to whether it is granted or not, and I guess if you’re desperate it’s a risk you take.

Well if people are making claims they need to back them up with evidence and how can I see something that does not exist. If someone is claiming a fallacy then others cannot see it 🙄

Well well well that is a way to avoid answering my question isn’t it. I hope @Brendahollowayreconsider is more intellectually coherent, and able to describe what she / he meant by ‘extreme far right’, given he she claims to have been ‘extreme far right’ in the past.

It's the example of the setting a hotel on fire - well didn't she receive a prison sentence? No mention of the antisemitic Gazan student in France, the Southport riots, where gaslighting of the Rotheram girls, helped create that hostile situation, or the keeping mouths shut, in the name of diversity, tweets. This constant appeasement, luckily, is being staved off by the likes of Reform, who have gained traction because of threads like this.

Same sneering as usual.

Do you really think left wingers are more intelligent than centrist? You are allowing in to the UK millions of right wing, uneducated people. Indian, Pakistani, African, ....all famously tolerant Liberal folk. You seem to have no sense of survival, of reality, of community or economics.

The UK has a voting system and we all have one vote. You educated clever clogs vote the way you want, including scrambling to include 16 year olds ( known for their brilliant minds)...

And the uneducated plebs can vote for whoever they wish. They can wear their union jack dresses and mark an 'x' with difficulty, but they should just about manage.

Enjoy your fabulous lives, and when reality bites, remember; you're the most intelligent.

You sound gleeful about the prospect of Reform getting in. Reform, the party led by the compulsive liar that convinced vast swathes of people to vote for Brexit… and look how well that’s worked out. I notice he has the good sense to possess a European passport, though. It beggars belief that, since Brexit, there are more people coming over here in boats than ever -not helped by no longer being part of the Dublin Agreement- and people still believe what he says. He’s witheringly despairing of the government not sending people straight back to Afghanistan and boldly declaring that he would do so. Does anyone believe that Farage is gonna mess with the Taliban and just go ahead and actually attempt to land planes there? Of course not, he’s back on the lies again. It’s easy to lie when you’re not in power and not being held to account. That people still believe anything he says is a triumph of wishful thinking over common sense.

Yes, Lucy got over a year in prison for a deleted tweet. She didn’t incite - she said she didn’t care if it happened, not ‘everyone go out and do X…’. Meanwhile, convicted paedophiles walk free from court every day.

I never wanted Reform. I blame the mealy mouthed appeasers and gaslighters who have done such a sterling job of dismissing people they feel they have no choice but to turn to people like Richard Tice.
