Do you believe there will be a civil war?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and I wonder if others feel the same. With everything going on, from the arrival of illegal migrants in small boats to a government that seems powerless, and with Farage gaining popularity because people are fed up, it feels like tension is rising across the country.

People are frustrated. You try to raise concerns and are instantly labelled a racist or bigot, even when your worries are about integration, safety, and national identity, not race. It feels like any honest conversation is being shut down.

There are parts of the UK where people who were born and raised here no longer feel at home. In some areas, if you are not part of the dominant local community, you can feel completely out of place or even unsafe walking alone at night. That is not right in your own country.

It is not just about people coming from Muslim-majority countries or those arriving illegally. There are also large numbers of Eastern Europeans, including Bulgarians, Romanians, and Russians. Many work hard and contribute, but there are also communities forming where people keep to themselves, speak no English, and make no effort to integrate. Some of these areas are experiencing rising antisocial behaviour, crime, and a breakdown of community life.

You can find videos online showing the state of some of these areas, with rubbish piling up, people ignoring the rules, and no sign of enforcement. It looks lawless, and it often is. But speaking about it honestly is considered of limits.

I live next to a Muslim family and they are wonderful people. Friendly, respectful, hardworking. So this is not about judging individuals. This is about a wider pattern where people are arriving, not integrating, and changing the fabric of our country in ways no one voted for.

We are a Christian country with our own traditions, values, and way of life. Why is it seen as wrong to want to preserve that? If we moved to Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria, or Russia, we would be expected to adapt to their culture. So why is it unacceptable to ask the same here?

The anger and division in this country are growing. I do not want unrest or conflict, but I cannot ignore what feels like a serious shift. When ordinary people feel ignored for too long, things eventually boil over.

Is anyone else feeling this? Or are we just not allowed to talk about it anymore?

@AWitchCalledMeg you can thank the many colonised indigenous people who were pillaged in the name of empire for seasoning. Can’t take the credit on that!

I’m just here to rid you of chicken nuggets and national identity 🥰

I think I had a chicken nugget once at a birthday party when I was 5. Feel free to rid the land of them, I think its an excellent idea. Are they are a local speciality where you are from? I hope you add spice to yours.

Dymaxion · 04/08/2025 22:38

I guess I've been missing the point, any negatives of immigration are neutralised by the invention of spices apparently.

Rustle up some nice lentil wraps , low carb and less likely to spike blood sugars, which looking at our lads doing battle, would probably be beneficial.

Low carb? Lentils and wraps are pure carbohydrate.

I know David Betz, he is a very well respected war professor in the worlds best war studies department.

Once you read the treatment of thousands of working class girls by rape gangs and their explicit language around their race motivation you can't actually close your mind to it again.

The protection the perpetrators were given by the public sector is absolutely depraved and is impossible to reconcile with.

Rape is a weapon of war but so many people just don't care about it happening here.

This is what's driving the social media anger. It's not going to go away.

I haven’t looked into his views. There’s a lot going on and this thread is a bit ramped up.

You… you don’t feel a CIVIL WAR is beyond the realms of possibility? I’ve got to ask again: between whom??!

There isn't two sides to a civil war. It's a sectarian war.

You can see it already on social media with antifa , the police, and the Palestine group which has now been classified as terrorists, there are videos of them planning to overwhelm the police.

At the moment the biggest insurgency is the Palestine group and antifa against the police.

See this is what I mean about you being silly. Liking a dash of spice does not equate to being anti British in some way. You made that connection, nobody else, and now you’re getting pissy about it.

Which town are you referring to which has "No English" signs?

The town that also has a large population of Russians as well, which I'm curious about!

Over40Overdating · 04/08/2025 22:40

@Dymaxion but how will they call us woke tofu eating traitors if we are not eating tofu? You know the weight of that insult can maim on site.

You can do the lamb and I’ll do the lentil wraps and I’ll use the cool bag I got in M&S. We have to wear camouflage afterall. As @Ticktockk Aldi is a symbol of forrin.

Think of what we saw at Glastonbury a few weeks ago

There was an article on the radio a few weeks ago (and yes, I realise I sound about 104 when I say that) about the unrest in Epping. They had a spokesperson from an anti-racist organisation who said that despite the police advice for them NOT to counter demonstrate against the far right, because it was causing further violence and tension, they would continue to do so in Epping. So probably… between the right and the left.

He's on YouTube.

He explains that the withdrawal of the police in towns controlled by gangs is actually stage two of a civil war.

You going on about your kids being 'the only white kids' in their school. Why does that matter to you so much?

You don’t think it would be damaging for a child to be the only kid of his/her race at school? I think you’re pushing the right on, virtuous shtick a bit too far here.

And yet Epping was overwhelmingly parents. The far right label is a bit out of date already.

If hefty legs are a qualifier, I'm in.

I'm itching for a scrap with our local council, CMHT, housing and a local GP, none of whom noticeably represent any group other than jobsworth and sanctimonious indigenous folk devoid of common sense or compassion with regard to elderly vulnerable folk.

I also would like five minutes aline in a room for the simpering government fuckwits who've been fobbing off and gas-lighting nuclear test veterans for years.

Honourless mention for the whole child protection system that has also been a thorn in my side in the past, and for a justice system that allows miscarriages of justice to make a mockery of the concept.

All of these systems wreaking havoc in the lives of ordinary people with little in the way of oversight or recourse, and yet pretty much everything is the fault of immigrants, often from countries being asset stripped, exploited and divvied up for the spoils of war, with huge corporations reaping the benefits? Really? Our problems come from financial and classist rot that is far closer to home, and that wilfully disregards the lessons of history.

Perhaps I am an enemy of the state? My pithy complaints sent through official channels are obviously a terrible threat, and must be so distressing to the pencil pushers who obfuscate and patronise at every turn.

I'll bring olives, mozzarella and tomatoes or little peppers on sticks. I'm a canapé kind of girl.

I would say that no, you’re wrong.

The biggest threat to disorder by far, is the Stella clutching, police van smashing, refugee hotel smashing FAR RIGHT contingency, occupying all of our police officers to try and maintain law and order; and then the effort required to bang them up where they belong

Huge amounts of manpower

Well exactly dear. How did we manage without those blessed spices. We wept all the way up and down the silk road in vain.

Slow release carbs like oats then , is that better ? Filled with a nice punchy salad and spiced lamb, with a dollop of herby yoghurt dressing ?

Casually dismissive of a planned attack on the police.

I didn't feel it too much tho I do feel the rise of reform very much

However I went to an out London Town recently for a night out. I'm 54 so no spring chicken. The place had totally changed.

I caught a middle aged man taking photos of us in a bar.

I also felt really unsafe walking in the high street. Groups of men around staring etc.

It never used to be like that.

I'm not going to name the men's backgrounds but they were all from the same region and hanging by around in groups of men only.

I can avoid this area quite easily and get my dh to meet me if I ever need to go again but I really made me think about those that live in such areas and can't move or avoid.

As a women I felt VERY vulnerable.

Mmm. I'm not from there but some forty years ago I had a friend from London who wore a man's haircut and men's clothes because that was the only way she felt safe when out at night

On the contrary, I'm externally grateful and have seen the light. According to over40s, my ancestors existed on nothing but chicken nuggets and crispy pancakes until more enlightened cultures graced us with their presence.

Over40Overdating · 04/08/2025 22:47

@MistressoftheDarkSide welcome! Could you also bring cheesy pineapple on sticks?

As you so logically point out, the issues most people are battling are to do with entrenched, inefficient corrupt systems that have been set up to benefit a select few who then gleefully point the finger at immigrants and laugh at the people swallowing their bullshit.

We know the immigration system is flawed. So is the legal system. Housing system. Education and medical systems. And they still would be if we never had another immigrant enter the country again and deported half the rest of us.
The problem in this country is not people on boats. It’s people in power.

I went to a protest.

Your characterisation is out of date I'm afraid. Last years news.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 04/08/2025 22:47

‘Will there be a civil war?’

well, I hope not. On one side you have the masked, Bull horn chanting , face covered, pre printed pink and yellow banner people, ably supported by the police, the political establishment, the judiciary, the King and all the right on posters here. I suspect the Army would be on the side of their paymasters too. It seems likely that the young men who have fled war and persecution might not be averse to pitching in against the unwelcoming amongst the population

on the other hand you seem to have some middle aged women in pink dresses, with home made placards about protecting children, a few girls ( for heavens sake get them out of the front line) and some overweight blokes with union flag tattoos. They aren’t going to be allowed to assemble anyway, according to the latest dictat from the ‘Government’ and their texts and posts are being carefully scrutinised so we can bang them up for wrong think, early release for the thieves and wife beaters, got to clear the jails for the real miscreants.

So no, I don’t think there will be a civil war, though I think there may well be some massacres.
