I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and I wonder if others feel the same. With everything going on, from the arrival of illegal migrants in small boats to a government that seems powerless, and with Farage gaining popularity because people are fed up, it feels like tension is rising across the country.

People are frustrated. You try to raise concerns and are instantly labelled a racist or bigot, even when your worries are about integration, safety, and national identity, not race. It feels like any honest conversation is being shut down.

There are parts of the UK where people who were born and raised here no longer feel at home. In some areas, if you are not part of the dominant local community, you can feel completely out of place or even unsafe walking alone at night. That is not right in your own country.

It is not just about people coming from Muslim-majority countries or those arriving illegally. There are also large numbers of Eastern Europeans, including Bulgarians, Romanians, and Russians. Many work hard and contribute, but there are also communities forming where people keep to themselves, speak no English, and make no effort to integrate. Some of these areas are experiencing rising antisocial behaviour, crime, and a breakdown of community life.

You can find videos online showing the state of some of these areas, with rubbish piling up, people ignoring the rules, and no sign of enforcement. It looks lawless, and it often is. But speaking about it honestly is considered of limits.

I live next to a Muslim family and they are wonderful people. Friendly, respectful, hardworking. So this is not about judging individuals. This is about a wider pattern where people are arriving, not integrating, and changing the fabric of our country in ways no one voted for.

We are a Christian country with our own traditions, values, and way of life. Why is it seen as wrong to want to preserve that? If we moved to Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria, or Russia, we would be expected to adapt to their culture. So why is it unacceptable to ask the same here?

The anger and division in this country are growing. I do not want unrest or conflict, but I cannot ignore what feels like a serious shift. When ordinary people feel ignored for too long, things eventually boil over.

Is anyone else feeling this? Or are we just not allowed to talk about it anymore?

We won't be a white minority country though, that's bollocks, made up to scare people.

If it wasn’t bollocks would you change your view?

Yes, I’ve experienced this first hand. There’s a small town not far from where I live that I visit fairly regularly, and the situation there is quite different from what you describe. The area has a large population of Russians, Bulgarians, and Muslims, and there are even shops with signs in the windows that say 'no English.' This isn’t something I’ve picked up from social media it’s what I’ve seen for myself.

So yes, I have experienced it, and honestly, it isn’t a pleasant situation. I just wish everyone could get on!

Edited

I just don't believe you.

LOL. Your description of where you live sounds terrible. I lived somewhere similar called Streatham hill and it was a really really bad place minus the 4 illegal migrant hotels. Were you under the impression you live in a desirable place?
No it’s not a joke, nobody wants to live where you live if they can help it.

You have no idea about where I live. You’ve got me mixed up with the poster who asked the question originally. The question you are still deflecting.

Where are you getting the source for your information please

pop by 2050 will increase by c 10m people.

given that we are at currently around 80% white British with a pop of 65m this doesn’t seem mathematically possible

https://news.sky.com/story/uk-population-set-to-grow-by-five-million-within-10-years-with-net-migration-levels-highest-in-europe-for-the-first-time-13298458

Would you change your view if it was true?

NaicePeachJoker · 04/08/2025 21:38

Would you change your view on mass immigration if it was true that Britain would be a white British minority country by 2050?

For goodness sake, go back a few thousands years an all the inhabitants of the British isles were black

bagginsatbagend · 04/08/2025 21:52

Mewling · 04/08/2025 18:16

You’ve picked this example as if it supports your worldview when actually, I don’t think it does.

I’ve never been anywhere that’s had a sign in the window saying “No English”. Is that sign in the room with you right now?

If there were signs like that it would be all over social media & front page news on some papers. They’d absolutely love to have photos of something like that, if it was true it would 100% be in the news

Nasrine · 04/08/2025 21:31

@PandoraSocks

Could you link to your sources when you're using statistics to try to make a case that foreign nationals living in the UK are dangerous?

Because there are some truly crap sources being used by GB 'News' and The Telegraph.

Would also point out, if we're doing the maths - that for that figure (if it's accurate) to be meaningful, we'd need to control for average age of foreign nationals - offending is far more common in the under 40's than it is in the over 60's.

Nasrine, I am trying to do the EXACT opposite.

Please read my post again. I am demonstrating that only a tiny fraction of foreign nationals commit these crimes.

What makes it sound undesirable?

I love Streatham Hill btw! So many nice houses, Streatham common, some FANTASTIC schools. I don't live there btw - I live in a poorer part of London.

I suspect you're finding it a struggle to explain what it is specifically you hate about living in a multicultural area without saying something bigoted and racist. Just give it a go. What do you hate?

Lonelycrab · 04/08/2025 21:52

I think the wealth gap may be what would drive serious unrest in the future

The wealth gap is the underlying factor in all this.

But those with wealth own powerful media companies and lobby MPs to do their bidding. They wrap the country’s problems up in a smokescreen around immigration, and make off with the wealth as they pump their bullshit to the not so astute. And here we are.

@AWitchCalledMeg you might need someone to hold your hand when I tell you some of the things Britain did to indigenous people in their own lands, where their ancestors had lived for 1,000s of years, rooted in envy, avarice and wickedness.YOU expose YOURSELF more than you know.

What’s so nice about these threads is that the aphorism ‘projection is confession’ rings like a bell.

Have a think about why you are so afraid of people doing here what your ancestors did over there.

Ticktockk · 04/08/2025 21:55

I’ve lived in a few different parts of the uk, including London, in the past ten years and this sounds so removed from ANYTHING I’ve experienced.
I’m sure there are places where immigration has become an issue but I’ve not seen it. it’s not as widespread as people are led to believe. All this utter nonsense about becoming ‘a minority in our own country’.

On another note, we can’t have a history of invading and plundering other countries, bragging about how great our country is, then not expecting immigrants to come along looking for a better life.

"Personally I think cheering on indigenous people being colonised and outnumbered in their native land, a place where their ancestors have resided for 1000s of years, is an ugly thing - rooted in envy, avarice and wickedness. You expose yourself more than you know."

I really suggest you do some reading. You obviously have zero understanding of the UK's colonial history - if you did, you'd be utterly embarrassed to try to make it analogous to modern immigration.

London, though has changed considerably over the past few decades. I'm not saying it's a good thing or a bad thing, but the demographic has rapidly changed.

I thought Mohammed was currently the most popular boys' name?

Most Muslims name their first-born son Mohammed. The next most popular Muslim name in 2024 was Yusuf, at number 67. (Data)

In 2023 there were 4,661 Mohammeds born in the UK, out of 591,072 live births. I think the white race will survive this "dilution". 🙄

For girls, the only remotely Muslim names in the top 100 are Fatima, Layla, Maryam, and Zara, and I know non-Muslim women with all of those.

PandoraSocks · 04/08/2025 21:46

Mate, read my post again.

What percentage of foreign nationals are convicted of sex offences each year?

I don't understand what you are trying to say. Perhaps this explains it to you?

The figures would mean that the conviction rate for foreign nationals is 5.75 per 100,000 of the population and 1.77 per 100,000 for the British population - a conviction rate which is 224% higher. In other words, foreign nationals are convicted for sexual assault on a female at a rate 2.24 times higher than the British population.

GoodOldTrayBake · 04/08/2025 22:01

Hahaha. No. We Brits are way too lazy to actually fight a war. The benefits scroungers can just about make it out the house to Greggs. The London elite required paid help to even change a tyre or a lightbulb. No one in this country can be arsed to go to war. Now we can all agree on one thing, whatever your political side - let’s sit down, calm down and have another drink.

I assume Goodwin decided to portray any child with a foreign parent as non white British. So if you have an Irish parent for example.

he’s the same chap that thinks Sunak is less English than Angela Rayner. Or has less linkage. Also can’t recognise London.

MurdoMunro · 04/08/2025 22:02

No, that’s the image you later projected on to her. Nasrine’s post at 21.12 that you responded to by saying that you wouldn’t want to live in and then ‘sounds fucking awful’ talked of shops, mosques and churches, no mention of ‘illegal migrant hotels’, that’s a red herring you’ve slapped down there. Again. Deflecting

@NaicePeachJoker

"Why don’t I want to live next to 4 illegal migrant hostels and my kids be the only white kids at school?"

I think you mean 'asylum hostels'. I said there were two within walking distance of my home. One of them I've been in, one I haven't.

I'm not sure why you think I should be bothered by the existence of an asylum hostel? Other than maybe having loads of drunk white people gathering outside it threatening violence? Luckily there aren't enough thick drunk white people where I live to engage in this sort of mayhem, so there's no harassment of asylum seekers.

Also - I said my son was the only white (or white passing) boy in his class. Not in his school. No bother though - he was never bullied or excluded. I know it's hard for you to understand, but most young children aren't hateful towards other children who don't look the same as them. Or maybe that's not true in your family and friendship group, which maybe isn't a surprise given the sort of comments you've made on this thread.
