Many years ago Marks & Spencer sold a cheese and apple sandwich. It was grated cheese mixed with some kind of mayonnaise and with chunks of apple. It was amazing. Then it stopped and it never returned.

Would I be unreasonable to email their head office to ask for them to reintroduce it?

M&S did a cheese and celery sandwich, that was so tasty.

Tesco tapas range, mushrooms in cream sauce. I've bought from other supermarkets, I've made it myself using various recipes, and it's never been quite right. I would eat those mushrooms every single day if I could.

ooh, and tesco also used to do (about 10 years ago) a thai green curry popcorn as part of their deli range. It was amazing and I've never found anything remotely similar.

Pizza pockets from Tescos bakery

That doesn't sound like something that would be very difficult to make for yourself

I’d happily mill a bag of Phileas Fogg Mignons Morceaux.

M&S Mexican Bean Wrap. The new wraps are crap(s)…

BanningTheWordNaice · 04/08/2025 00:05

M&S cheese wrapped in bacon in its original format. A plastic cheese wrapped in bacon. They did it again last year after discontinuing it and it was awful.

They still do it in some stores, I see it quite regularly in my local one 😊

Tried. Failed. It’s not the same.

Fairy fabric
conditioner, they did an almond scented one approx 18 years ago! Wish I'd stockpiled.

M&S Manchester Tart.
It disappeared sometime in the early 2000s I think.
It tasted exactly like I remember the school dinner one tasting from the 70s.

I remember the cheese & celery sandwich too.
I really wish they’d bring things back, even if just as specials.

Toast toppers

PullTheBricksDown · 04/08/2025 00:13

M&S ham and cream cheese pinwheels. So very much missed.

I'll say it before anyone else does - Toast Toppers

Funnily enough I worked at M&S a couple of decades ago and there was a big problem with the Manchester Tarts tilting and the filling spilling out, and the product not then being saleable. I remember we always had to carefully place them flat on the top of the other shopping. Wonder if that’s why they stopped them?

Tescos used to sell frozen mushy peas. They were amazing.

Beyondburnout · 04/08/2025 00:16

Worstershie sauce crisps with a pint of the original caffreys strong beer ( before they changed the recipe).

Dartmoorcheffy · 04/08/2025 00:18

Haha. Seriously there is a really high demand for toast toppers to cone back. I really don't understand why heinz haven't done it.

GellerYeller · 04/08/2025 00:20

M and S chicken no mayo sandwich. It had a yogurt based dressing with black pepper in. Instead they bring us strawberry sandwiches, for shame.

HeartandSeoul · 04/08/2025 00:21

Spiras! The best chocolate bar ever made, and nothing has matched it since. I know I’m not the only one who thinks this 😊.

CalzoneOnLegs · 04/08/2025 00:22

@TreeSturgeon it was on walnut bread and it was the best sandwich of all time

TowerOfWashing · 04/08/2025 00:23

During Covid (early days) I picked up a bottle of a Fairy 'derma care' (or similar name) washing up liquid that was for sensitive skin.

It was amazing and really helped my hands (they were getting wrecked with all the extra hand sanitising) but I've never seen it since.

Germolene New Skin to paint on blisters, ragnails, etc. I can only find a non-branded version online and it's rubbish.

Lucyccfc68 · 04/08/2025 00:24

Maggi cooking papers. Don’t remember the proper name, but they were cooking papers, with lots of different herbs/spices that you wrapped round chucken to fry it. The garlic one was my favourite.

FloofyBird · 04/08/2025 00:25

Galaxy swirls and vice versas. I also remember a bright orange cheese spread in the early 80's I loved.

I've been saying this for years😁 Heinz treacle pudding in a tin. Now that's also what needs bringing back

Dfg15 · 04/08/2025 00:28

Walkers Sensations Lime and Thai spices crisps. They were the best crisps ever.
