Many years ago Marks & Spencer sold a cheese and apple sandwich. It was grated cheese mixed with some kind of mayonnaise and with chunks of apple. It was amazing. Then it stopped and it never returned.

Would I be unreasonable to email their head office to ask for them to reintroduce it?

Funnily enough I worked at M&S a couple of decades ago and there was a big problem with the Manchester Tarts tilting and the filling spilling out, and the product not then being saleable. I remember we always had to carefully place them flat on the top of the other shopping. Wonder if that’s why they stopped them?

Maybe that was it.. I’d still buy them though 😃

M and S chicken no mayo sandwich. It had a yogurt based dressing with black pepper in. Instead they bring us strawberry sandwiches, for shame.

I was just about to say this! I hate mayo and loved this sandwich. Wish they’d bring it back!

Ready salted chipsticks.Surely easier to make than salt and vinegar as one less ingredient

Maggi cooking papers. Don’t remember the proper name, but they were cooking papers, with lots of different herbs/spices that you wrapped round chucken to fry it. The garlic one was my favourite.

My son lived on chicken wrapped in Maggi cooking papers !So tasty and delicious.

Sainsbury's Potato Triangles crisps from the late 80s/early 90s. Red packet and I could easily scoff a whole share bag in one sitting.

Galaxy swirls and vice versas. I also remember a bright orange cheese spread in the early 80's I loved.

Came here to say galaxy swirls!

I third this! Absolutely loved this sandwich and used to eat it for lunch at my Saturday job in the 90’s. It felt very extravagant buying an M&S sandwich for lunch when I was earning about £3.60 an hour, but it was absolutely delicious!

Chanel London Bus Red lipstick. Was perfect, nothing matches it but it was extremely limited edition, years ago, so annoying!

Biotex. It was a pre-soak powder and could get any stain out of anything before Vanish came on the scene.

M&S did a cheese and celery sandwich, that was so tasty.

Yes and I’m sure Boots used to do one too. Was soooo nice - the little bit of celery to give it a healthy crunch.

Sante peanut granola - I've tried others and they're not the same and it was £1.19 for a box .

Maille Bearnaise sauce in jars - just why ? I cannot find one as good . I'd love to know why they stopped it. Progress eh ? 😂
