Many years ago Marks & Spencer sold a cheese and apple sandwich. It was grated cheese mixed with some kind of mayonnaise and with chunks of apple. It was amazing. Then it stopped and it never returned.

Would I be unreasonable to email their head office to ask for them to reintroduce it?

M&S Chicken Pakoras. I could bloody live on them. Every time I’m in the shop I have a look just in case they’re back!

PollyannaNibbs · 04/08/2025 01:23

Tescos used to sell frozen mushy peas. They were amazing

Morrisons do frozen mushy peas. Just like my mother used to make before they came in tins.

GenerousGardener · 04/08/2025 01:27

Frish toilet cleaner, didn’t smell like toilet cleaner, but fragranced the whole bathroom when it was used.

icedout · 04/08/2025 01:28

Sara Lee Gateau. I really do miss it.

ItsFridayIminLoveJS · 04/08/2025 01:37

Topics.. were my favourite chocolate bar.

WombatCowgirl · 04/08/2025 01:38

Lux soap flakes for hand washing woollens. Flyte bars, like a diet milky way! That brunette shampoo with conkers / horse chestnuts on the bottle, body shop 2 in 1 foundation and powder compact. I feel full of regrets now!

Firefly1987 · 04/08/2025 01:48

Drifter bars, BN biscuits (I know you can still get them but don't think they're the same) angel delight how it used to be with all the different types.

On the apple theme-I just found out Morrisons have stopped doing their apple filled doughnuts! 😱

Oh and there was a chocolate popcorn thing that came out a while back but wasn't round for very long. Purple and yellow packet I think-anyone know what I mean? I loved them! Whyyyy do they get rid of the best things!

All mine are food related 😆

Spaghetti and sausages by Heinz they now do it with Richmond sausages and my kids hate it.. bring back the cheap version was such an easy tea for me.. also Sainsbury’s did a tiramisu brownie was amazing they’ve removed the bakery in my store and I can’t get it now!!

I miss the originals, too!
Nearest copy I’ve found is Branston baked beans and sausages, it’s a good sub for Heinz.

trainedopossum · 04/08/2025 02:08

I loved that cheese and celery sandwich! Idk what they did to the celery, maybe it was soaked in salt water or something, it had the perfect texture, crunchy without being hard, stringy or watery. I’m not a great fan of celery normally.

In the 90s I lived on pink grapefruit Calippos. So delicious and refreshing, just a touch of bitterness.

MrsClatterbuck · 04/08/2025 02:28

M&S egg and tomato sandwiches with salad cream and coronation chicken. Plus the sub rolls especially the beef and onion ones.
Would live to visit an M&S store in England because I'm not sure if stuff we used to get is no more cos of Brexit and the Irish Sea Border. You sometimes see items with labels saying not for the EU.

FlourSugarButter · 04/08/2025 02:29

Vienetta Summer Fruits, I look for it every summer

Lurkingandlearning · 04/08/2025 02:33

@TreeSturgeon no it would not be unreasonable for you to email M&S and ask them to bring back that sandwich and I would appreciate it if you did

Lurkingandlearning · 04/08/2025 02:39

@GellerYeller strawberry sandwiches 😳 are they high?

Idontjetwashthefucker · 04/08/2025 02:44

Fuse bars
Sara Lee Black Forest gateau
Fairy liquid with bubbles that lasted
Tesco frozen mousses, came in a long plastic bag, about 10 pots...delicious
Sugared almonds, not seen them in years
Texan bars

Lurkingandlearning · 04/08/2025 02:45

Dolce and Gabana perfume with the light blue lid. Does anyone know a perfume that’s similar?

Helpfullright · 04/08/2025 02:49

WanderingGiraffe · 04/08/2025 00:58

Dr Oetker Ristorante Spinaci pizza (can still be found in Europe but not even on uk website) 😭

Choc - Cadbury Marble bar, Astros, Terrys Twilight

‘Lunchbox’ Biscuits - Echo, M&M biscuits and Fox’s Classic

Agree on Heinz tinned puddings… also Entenmanns (esp raspberry danish!)

They have astros in South Africa!

Spiras! The best chocolate bar ever made, and nothing has matched it since. I know I’m not the only one who thinks this 😊.

Ice Breaker. A bar of milk chocolate with crispy minty inside.

Thunderpants88 · 04/08/2025 02:53

Joosters jelly beans

Tesco llama bites (crisps)

Yellow matenium cream

CalzoneOnLegs · 04/08/2025 02:55

@Lurkingandlearning D&G Light Blue? It’s still made, or do you mean another fragrance by them

Products they stopped that need to come back
Tigergirl80 · 04/08/2025 02:57

Them raspberry ripple mousses you were mentioning to defrost them but I always eat them frozen.

Bumblebee413 · 04/08/2025 02:58

Yes! Joosters! There used to be a chocolate sandwich bar form of Hobnobs when I was growing up- it had this set white cream inside (a bit like a custard cream) and was coated in chocolate. It was so very good! It’s probably for the best that they don’t make them any more as I wouldn’t be able to stop eating them.

Ben and Jerrys did Oatmeal Cookie crunch ice cream. It was a cinnamon ice cream with soft, chewy bits of flapjack running through around 2007. It was so good.

MrsToddsShortcut · 04/08/2025 03:02

In the mid/late eighties, Sainsbury’s used to sell their own brand cream cheese. It was in a deep, round tub and looked similar to Philadelphia, but tasted unlike any cream cheese I’ve come across since. It was absolutely gorgeous. I used to buy tubs and tubs of it whenever I was in Sainsbury’s. I still miss it, 30 odd years later…

Also the late eighties, at around the time that the problem with CFCs really became an issue, Vidal Sassoon started selling pump bottle hairspray. It was scented with this really lovely almond smell. I wish they’d sell it again.

Galloway’s cough syrup - thick, almost black and really aniseedy. It was really nice dissolved in some boiling water and sipped slowly if you had a really bad cold.

Rimmel Rich Raisin lipstick. It was one of the few shades that really suited me and I have never found any other lipstick in quite the same shade.

onwardandupwards · 04/08/2025 03:02

Cheese moments and calypso shots!

MrsToddsShortcut · 04/08/2025 03:04

Ooh! I used to love cheese moments.

BuffetTheDietSlayer · 04/08/2025 03:04

Knorr chicken micro noodles
MorningStar farms veggie bacon
Pound bakery used to see a veggie sausage roll that tasted and had the texture of a Greggs meat one. Then they changed it to vegan and it’s disgusting and inedible.

MSN messenger and yahoo games. Spent hours talking to weirdos via both when I was a teen. I miss them.
