How do people in hot countries continue to populate?

Honestly, even just the thought of having sex in this heat has me running away in sweat drenched disgust. I have under boob sweat, arsehole sweat, my knickers are gross, my hair is wet, I feel disgusting and I am far far too hot! How do hot countries manage? I couldn't think of anything worse than sex right now! Thankfully my OH is in complete agreement 🤣 we can barely tolerate our clothes touching our body never mind sharing heat 🤣
What's the consensus? Does the heat affect your libido? Or are you lot all lying in a pool of combined sweat and continuing as normal?
Shamelessly posting in AIBU for traffic.

We have air conditioning/fans/architecture built to actively combat the heat. We stay inside when it’s hot, move less and walk slowly. 😁

Samas · 10/07/2025 21:47

You’re basing it on your experience of living in a country in which homes are generally not set up to deal with extreme heat.

My dsis lives in Australia and her home has full air con etc. it’s really lovely and cool no matter how hot it is outside.

The UK most definitely needs to invest in air conditioning!

My Indian friends tell me they find the heatwaves in Britain difficult due to the lack of AC and the insulation in the houses trapping the heat. I suppose they’re better kitted out for all nighters in a heatwave in warmer climates otherwise I think foreign holidays wouldn’t be popular😂

Ilovelowry · 10/07/2025 21:53

I quite like it. Much better than shivering under the duvet whilst doing it in the winter!
Even better if it's on holiday after some lunchtime wine.

Oh yes, great, let's make a boiling planet even warmer by using MORE power.

JustTalkToThem · 10/07/2025 21:55

Sweaty sex can be fun. As can the cool showers together afterwards.

Octavia64 · 10/07/2025 21:55

UK houses are mostly built to keep heat in.

it’s not a massive surprise they don’t cope well in the heat.

JustTalkToThem · 10/07/2025 21:55

Dupe.

We have air con in the bedroom and living room (in uk) - it didn’t cost a fortune (3k) and can also heat which was v useful at new year when our central heating pump broke and we had to wait 2 days for a plumber. Honestly don’t know why it’s not more popular (and recently an estate agent calculated it had added 5-10k on the value or our house.

PollyCreo · 10/07/2025 22:01

Hot weather makes people horny 😅 Something to do with the vitamin D increasing testosterone?

Seriously though, people in hot countries cool their homes in the same way people in cold countries heat their homes.

This is very interesting we've just bought and moved into a new house and we're still renovating so definitely going to look into that thank you! X

We live on an old house so it’s generally cool in the Summer, I don’t really sweat (just call me Andrew) and the hot weather makes me horny.

We’re not all the same.

helpfulperson · 10/07/2025 22:08

Most very hot countries architecture is very different to the UK. Small windows and shutters, high narrow streets to create shade, white outside. All done without electricity.

Gardenbumblebee · 10/07/2025 22:09

Doggy style, nothing too energetic, share the workload, and whatever you do don't touch each other.

LynetteScavo · 10/07/2025 22:11

I thought humans wer supposed to want to have sex in hot weather, so that babies are born in spring.

proximalhumerous · 10/07/2025 22:11

Another thread about sweaty knickers and wet hair?! What's with everyone this evening?

Doggy style without touching one another? I am in awe of your magical powers - and those of your partner 🤩🤩🤩

IberianBlackout · 10/07/2025 22:19

Less hair, more showers, tanned glowy skin, party vibes outside, everyone is happy to socialise, long nights, fans or AC is you have the means.

ExperiencedTeacher · 10/07/2025 22:27

Definitely has the opposite effect on me, OP! I can’t get enough in the hot weather!

I just can't even fathom it! We are as far apart in our king size bed as possible 😅

People have been populating the Earth in hot climates long before air con was invented - I guess the desire for sex outweighs the negative effects of heat!

minnienono · 10/07/2025 22:41

I’m in U.K. and doesn’t affect meGrin

its not that hot, only 26 in my bedroom
