Posting here because of the previous thread about thong bikinis. Now let me point out that in NO time in my life have I had the figure to wear a thong bikini. I have nothing against them but I do wonder what the appeal is. If you are proud of your body and want to show off as much of it as possible, I get that. I can also understand wearing thong knickers for the no line look. But why wear a thong bikini? Is it cooler (as in temperature)? If it more comfortable than a normal bikini? Is it easier to swim in? You want your fanny tanned? I am asking a sincere question.

Ah, reminds me of Jim Royale - I paid a quid for these pants and I've got 50p stuck up my arse! And that's what thongs feel like, uncomfortable. Best kept for the bourdoir.

It's not something I'd be happy to wear as I don't really like showing my body off - for me or for anyone else. But I wouldn't judge anyone else for it.
I've worn thong underwear before in clothing where otherwise I'd have had a vpl, so in that respect, it's not wildly different.

I don’t think it’s a generational thing- and no need to be ageist. My MIL who is nearly 80 wears thongs (though not thong bikinis as far as I know) I am 47 and I generally do not. (I actually wear them daily under my gym kit because full briefs under Lycra give me a silhouette that I don’t like and I’m on show as I’m teaching classes). I hate them though and can’t wait to swap them for apple catchers once I’m home and showered.

I don't as swimwear for me is about exactly that, for swimming and prancing around in skimpy bikinis is - well - a bit basic.

I have never considered it as I don't generally work to "get a tan" not being keen on the whole premature ageing/risk of skin cancer thing.

I've got a great arse, but at over 60 I don't really feel as though the general viewing public needs to see my buttocks. I've no real objection to others wearing thongs if they want to, as long as those same buttocks aren't being rubbed in my face. So to speak.

I don't care what people wear, not remotely offended by thong bikinis, not something I have ever worm or plan to wear. However, I wonder what people would say if a man wore a thong Speedo. Would that be ok? I am ok with it but I wonder if all the people who say woman can wear what the like apply the same thinking to men. Interested to hear opinions.

Not only would I never wear a thong bikini but I only really feel comfortable in swimsuits that have little skirts around them. Funny really as I had no problem being naked in front of partners (I had a great body until some major surgeries). But I am very much a ‘for your eyes only’ type of person.
