Posting here because of the previous thread about thong bikinis. Now let me point out that in NO time in my life have I had the figure to wear a thong bikini. I have nothing against them but I do wonder what the appeal is. If you are proud of your body and want to show off as much of it as possible, I get that. I can also understand wearing thong knickers for the no line look. But why wear a thong bikini? Is it cooler (as in temperature)? If it more comfortable than a normal bikini? Is it easier to swim in? You want your fanny tanned? I am asking a sincere question.

My fat arse will chew up a normal bikini bottom and it'll turn into a thong in 5 seconds no matter what I do. Might as well cut out the middle man 🤣

My dd loves a thong in both knickers and bikinis. I think the knickers are the most hideously uncomfortable thing ever invented and as for a thong bikini i would never inflict my arse on the general public!

I understand the appeal on beaches and holidays.

At local indoor swimming pools when you’re taking the kids for a swim, I think it’s a bit skanky tbh.

But tbh, I don’t really like most bikinis at swimming pools - with the exception of those with fuller coverage like tankinis etc. Outdoor pools, beaches, I totally get wearing a bikini - but at an indoor pool, you’re there for a swim surely? Bikinis ride up or give you nip slip, so they’re hardly suitable for proper swimming. It’s like wearing an evening dress to go horse riding - you might think you look great but others around you will be thinking you just look daft.

I think it looks attention-seeking and vain at a local indoor swimming pool.

Mind you, I’m 100% sure women wearing thong bikinis don’t give a shit that others might think it looks a bit naff.

Only ever worn one once and it was when we were on holiday and I had just found out I was pregnant. I was 21 and I just realised probably not going to be able to do this again… so I went out and got the smallest one possible. No regrets, I’m glad I did it, but not comfy at all. I’ll still do bikini on holiday, but if I’m taking the kids swimming it’s the trusty one piece, not sexy but practical.

I don’t like the feel of wet fabric on my skin and do like the feel of the sun in my skin so I wear a thong. I’d go topless if it wasn’t for the pearl clutchers. It’s strange to me that the sight of a human body is so offensive to so many. So long as genitals are covered, for hygiene’s sake, I’m not bothered about flesh on the beach.
