Hot weather.

Anyone else just want this hot weather to fuck right off? I've had enough of it already and apparently we're in for at least another 2 weeks of it. 🤬 I'm made out to be a killjoy when I say I'm not enjoying it. Does everyone else really love it,or are they just saying it for fear of being thought odd (like me!).

Not very hot here in the south west either. Lots of cloud about and drizzles of rain. Not gone above 20 yet this month. Forecast of up to 24 on Friday.

Where are you? I’m sat in the garden at 7.55pm watching dc make up dances on the trampoline enjoying the warm weather here in Somerset.

BatchCookBabe · 17/06/2025 19:55

Oh FGS, yes it's quite hot, but it's not even that bad yet. 🙄 And hold the front page! It's the middle of summer and it's hot! MAJOR NEWS! 😱

Some people just love to whinge and moan. In 4-5 months time, the same people griping about the 'viciously hot' 23-24 degrees celcius weather right now, will be pissing and moaning about how COLD they are, and asking (in early September) 'have you got your heating on yet?' Wink Every bloody year, in early Autumn, that same tedious thread pops up, over and over. With the 'I'm sooooooo cold' comments - as soon as it drops below 16 degrees C!

And every bloody year (sometime in June, sometimes May) we get the 'it's too hot!' threads!😴 Move to Antarctica if it's that bad!

I absolutely LOVE the summer and the heat. BRING ON THE HEATWAVE! 🔥

Yep, 23 C here (North Midlands.) Even at 8pm. Been gorgeous all day!

Actually, no, we don't. We have very mild, short winters in the UK.

Maybe in England. I wouldn’t call northern Scotland mild in winter. We were snowed in for a total a month last winter

BabyDoge · 17/06/2025 20:05

It's been cool and drizzly in the North West today!

Actually, no, we don't. We have very mild, short winters in the UK.

We have more cold weather than hot. I’m uncomfortable for at least 8 months of the year.

MadamCholetsbonnet · 17/06/2025 20:07

I bloody love it.

Plump82 · 17/06/2025 17:53

Come up to Scotland. It's certainly not not here. I've been under my heated blanket all day!

Really? I’m on the East Coast and it’s gorgeous!

The winters where I live are not that cold, so I can appreciate the ones who say they don’t like it if they live in colder areas. However, it doesn’t stop me hating hot weather, it’s just too much.

Define ‘not that cold’. Unless I can wear sandals and t shirts I hate it. Miserable.

Gothzilla · 17/06/2025 20:10

I love it although I’m not finding it that hot. I could do with it being 5 degrees more then it will be bliss 🌞

330ml · 17/06/2025 20:12

Hot weather? Where?

terracelane23 · 17/06/2025 20:13

I work outside and I’d much rather heat than the freezing temperatures of Winter.

KPPlumbing · 17/06/2025 20:16

I LOVE it!

Weve had a bbq with friends, I'm hiking every chance I get, we've eaten lunch in the garden. I love my summer clothes, the light evenings, the stroll into town on a Friday night for sunny beers.

I'm in HEAVEN!

If you're coming home in the next 10 days,it will be around 29/30 degrees!

In Yorkshire? I doubt it. Glad to be coming back to good weather anyway.

Two things:

  • The UK's obesity rate is amongst the highest in Europe.
  • In areas close to Heathrow, climate change has seen noticeably higher temperatures recorded in the last decade

I'll leave it up to you all to decide if these two are correlated, so to speak.

I've lost nearly 4 stone and it's made no difference to my tolerance of heat whatsoever,I still hate it.

Crunchymum · 17/06/2025 20:19

Could do with this weather next month when we will be at a cottage on the coast (of course by then it will be 15c and pissing down 😂 ) but I really can't abide it in London.

I'm alright at the moment but as the days go on I swear my blood starts to heat up and then I hit the stage I just cannot cool myself.

Forecast for the next 2 weeks is 25c + in my neck of the woods, potentially up to 33c over the weekend. Too hot for me. I'm a 22c gal.

Bingo! The first "I hate summer thread"

No I don't. I genuinely love hot weather. Although we really need a lot of rain. I'm in Yorkshire and the county has become the second region to enter drought status following the driest spring in 132 years.

Ideally cool nights with rain and lovely warm days would be perfect.

How people can love hot sweaty weather is beyond me!

Because it hasn't been that hot where I live and therefore it isn't sweaty.

atamlin · 17/06/2025 20:26

I love it as it means I don’t have to drag my toddler out somewhere every day of the week and find new activities. We just play in the garden all day - it’s free and she loves it!

Cherrytree86 · 17/06/2025 20:39

@JohnTheRevelator

i love it! I hope it’s stays like this for the rest of the summer - fingers crossed 🤞
it’s rainy, cold and miserable for most of the year let’s enjoy the sun 🌞

Ilikemymenlikeilikemycoffee · 17/06/2025 20:42

I love it.
Makes things so much nicer.
Nice to not be cold all the time. Nice to put my washing out. My garden is looking lovely. I can’t wait to go to the beach at the weekend and swim in the sea.

Why so miserable?

Ilikemymenlikeilikemycoffee · 17/06/2025 20:44

JohnTheRevelator · 17/06/2025 19:19

The only positives I can think of about hot weather is not having to spend a fortune on gas for heating, not taking ages to get dressed and undressed with so many layers that I wear in hot weather (I'm disabled plus I have a frozen shoulder so dressing and undressing is always a bit of a chore for me) and laundry drying in next to no time. I do feel sorry for my poor cat though. Imagine wearing a fur coat in this heat and not being able to take it off! I'm sure she thinks it's me that's making it so hot just to piss her off!

Am pretty sure cats don’t care! They’re also used to it.

Cherrytree86 · 17/06/2025 20:45

It genuinely baffles me when people say they prefer winter to summer…I mean, like how?!
in summer you have beer gardens, you can wear sandals and don’t have to be bother with socks coats gloves etc, no dark nights and mornings, there’s more social stuff going on, all the plants are in bloom etc etc
it’s just infinitely better!

Popsicle1981 · 17/06/2025 20:45

It’s a nightmare for me.

I’m already sunburned.

My ankles and fingers are puffy and swollen.

I cannot sleep. I cannot concentrate with work.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 17/06/2025 20:46

Send it up here to Cumbria please. Rainy and a bit chilly here!
