Just17 magazine and Rufus the model

Random bored Wednesday afternoon work discussion...

Just17 magazine used to regularly feature a model called Rufus. One person had his picture all over her wall. Another person thought he was odd looking.

We need to settle who was right! 🤣 (From a teenage girl point of view, not an adult woman perving over a topless young model! Otherwise eww!)

Who was Rufus?
Is he still a model?
Was he poster worthy or odd looking?

Personally I had no opinion on him. If he wasn't David Duchovny, I wasn't interested. 😂

I'm sure I remember Rufus, roughly what year? I remember Vernon Kay was a model before he became a presenter back in the late 90s early 2000s.

We need a picture else how are we supposed to know?

Aah! I am straight back in 1994 and everything smells of the Bodyshoo dewberry spray. I remember Rufus, I definitely fancied him. I think he had dark curly hair.. and presumably his top off a lot of the time. Not sure I would recognise him in a picture now though..

No, Malcolm is Malcolm Jeffries. I'm still not sure who Rufus is. Vernon Kay was just Vernon, he did model with someone else but I can't remember his name.

i do remember putting up some back and white model cards from Mizz magazine on my wall to try and fit in, even though I found the hairless chests weird loooking.

I'm sure I remember Vernon Kay and Holly Willoughby modelling together in J17, not sure if I've imagined that!

Oooh, had completely forgotten Rufus and Cassius until I opened the thread. I can’t picture either of them but I definitely fancied them and probably put their pictures on my wall/on my school exercise books alongside Keanu and EMF.

My mum worked with Malcolm’s mum. And yet I never got to meet him. Still a bit cross about that.
