Dd has one of her artworks on exhibit at the Royal Scottish Academy’s Annual Open Exhibition. I don’t think I’m BU to be so proud of her, although IRL she doesn’t think it’s worth mentioning to friends! She’s the youngest in the show.

What an amazing portrait! Your daughter is so talented. Congratulations to her. The start of a brilliant career.

FrodisCapering · 03/05/2025 09:57

Absolutely outstanding achievement!
It's great to see the combination of talent and hard work.
I hope a lottery winner or businesses person sees this and offers to fund her further study.

alloutofcareunits · 03/05/2025 10:01

I’ve just followed her on Instagram, her work is truly incredible!

Birdseyetrifle · 03/05/2025 10:02

Just Wow!!! They are amazing. You can feel the people in the paintings. Sorry not an art critic so I can’t explain better.

They are beautiful paintings.

I don't mean you have to answer my questions. I just mean it's more than lovely - it has life and engagement.

Yes yes, this!

Awesome!

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 03/05/2025 10:05

Oh my gosh, that is incredible. I too thought it was a photograph.

I cannot even draw a decent stick person so I am always a bit in awe of people with a gift for art and your DD has one in spades.

YouBelongWithMe · 03/05/2025 10:05

Fabulous!! You've inspired me to take my daughters up today to see the exhibition. Will make sure to see Ruby's masterpiece in the flesh.

What a talent ❤️

Diydanny · 03/05/2025 10:06

Wow! That’s an exceptional talent. Your pride should know no bounds. This is the reward for years of child rearing (hard work) … knowing that your child is set on a lifetime path of doing something they absolutely love and have great talent for. Such a joy!

Sinuhe · 03/05/2025 10:06

Very outing... but then I would be proud too!

ByDreamyNavyDreamer · 03/05/2025 10:07

Before I clicked the link I thought oh how sweet a lovely proud parent. Then I clicked and I am so blown away with how beautiful these pictures are. She’s so talented and must have worked so hard to achieve this.

Cakeandcardio · 03/05/2025 10:09

An outstanding talent. She should be so proud. As should you.

Growlybear83 · 03/05/2025 10:10

Good grief! Your daughter is incredibly talented - no wonder you’re proud of her achievements.

PerkingFaintly · 03/05/2025 10:10

It springs out how much connection she has with her subjects.

PhaseFour · 03/05/2025 10:10

Amazing, OP! Enjoy all the congratulations you & your DD are receiving on here.
Can I just say, you must also be immensley proud of how modest she is too - it's a wonderful and rare trait to be as off-the-scale talented as your DD obviously is, and not be full of yourself. So, super talented and a credit it to you in other ways, too, by the sounds of it.

RaininSummer · 03/05/2025 10:11

What a talented young woman. It's amazing.

howcanitbetrue · 03/05/2025 10:11

No words, just wow. She's very talented.

SunnieShine · 03/05/2025 10:12

Bloody brilliant. I'd boast my head off if it me - with no shame whatsoever 😁

user499978802 · 03/05/2025 10:12

Her artwork is extraordinary, never mind her age. You have every right to be proud of both her talent and her obvious dedication and hard work. I agree with @Birdseyetrifle - they feel like so much more than portraits, they're truly exceptional.

Perzival · 03/05/2025 10:12

Wow! That's amazing you should be really proud. Congratulations to your dd, it's a fantastic achievement 👏

Lucelady · 03/05/2025 10:14

Wow

Startrekobsessed · 03/05/2025 10:16

To be honest I’m proud of her and she’s not even my daughter! What an exceptional talent I bet you’re bursting with pride. I love dad and dad loves me brought a tear to my eye.

Genevieva · 03/05/2025 10:16

She’s an exceptionally talented young lady. Any mother would be proud of those paintings, even without a public exhibition or a prize, but it’s lovely to see her being recognised by others.

That is incredible work.

cramptramp · 03/05/2025 10:17

Well done to her. And you. What an achievement.

distrussful · 03/05/2025 10:17

It’s so behind mentioning to friends it’s unreal. Her work is incredible- she should be so proud of herself!
