There is absolutely no point in quoting the OP. We've all read the OP already. All you're doing is wasting everyone's time by making us scroll past it to read the rest of the thread. I have no idea why so many people do it but it is completely unnecessary so please could anyone who does this stop. This has been a public service announcement. Thank you.

first few posts i agree. but if you're coming into it a bit later and the thread has drifted, i don't see the issue.

Also.. just because you don't like it doesn't mean you get to tell anyone else what to do!

I agree with you, OP - it's infuriating. I haven't had a drink for nearly a year but almost succumbed on the thread where the poor OP was saying she was raped by her husband and everyone was quoting her long opening post. What led me to the drink was the poster who started with, "As a man..."

Most of the replies quoted the OP totally unnecessarily as there were only 10 replies when I posted. If people want to see the OP post on a long thread just click Show OP, it's not hard!
