I get quality might not be best…but i am postpartum…weight and overall look not the best at the moment and barely anything fits and if it does it shows my belly in an uncomfortable way! Cant afford a dresses which hopefully wont be needed in a few months and going to visit family in a couple of months so need something else besides bike shorts and stretchy t shirts!

has anyone used shein? Worth a try? Do they have easy returns?

I’m shocked at the returns process being more important than working conditions.

I work in Fashion processing returns, most of it online purchases. Some comes back still in the original packaging and unopened. Thought needs to go in before clicking on a purchase and not just acting on short term impulses.

There is never a need to buy from these companies. It’s being unable to have patience to save money and buy less/better.

Im on minimum wage, lack of money is no excuse.

Those of you who can shrug off the child labour because “all clothing retailers use them “ are you also okay with -

theft of small creators designs?

the shedding of micro plastics from the moment you take items out of their single use plastic bags?

the landfill issue their free and easy returns creates?

the waste of resources needed to manufacture and ship on the e scale they do?

Most of my lifestyle choices are far more ethical than the average person so I guess I justify being a now and again fast fashion consumer because I know I don't contribute to planet erosion on other ways.

There's no ethical consumption under capitalism

This is such a fucking copout. We have to consume to a certain extent but we can at least make an effort to ensure we do as little harm as possible.

100% this

I’ve bought things like socks, hair bobbles etc.. never had an issue

I would look on Boohoo instead. Quality will be better and you can return stuff nice and easily. Also H&M has some really cheap bits! And ASOS Outlet. Shein is really really really ethically unsound (I know all fast fashion is but they are particularly horrendous) and the quality is extremely hit and miss.
