She ordered a Curry and hasn’t paid me

Friend came to my house

I was going to cook but she asked if I fancied a curry. I said that would be really nice actually

Her JustEat app wasn’t working so I said have a look on mine for places that are open. She picked Indian.

I put everything I wanted in and she added hers. Total came to £52ish. Over 65% of that cost was hers.

I said I could just check out and sort it later. I have messaged to ask if she had the money today as a gentle reminder, and she said she thought it was my treat?

I said oh, we must have got crossed wires then. She said ‘I did cover the shop’

She went to the corner shop for wine and snacks. I got a Grape Fanta!

Where do I go from here? Leave it? Was it reasonable for her to assume it was in fact my treat?

I’m now going to disengage, because you’re becoming obsessive!

Hope you can deal with your obsession with food, it’s obviously a massive trigger for you.

Oh NOW you're going to disengage... Because when I ignored you for the previous 24 hours I couldn't shake you. That's cool though, bye.

Pretty please

I fear you’re wasting your breath!

I really want a curry with rice, naan bread and a poppadom now.

Haha. I’ve actually just had homemade beef Massaman curry (no naan but I did have rice).

I know there’s been quite a bit of focus on the wrong thing, ie the naan or rice - I’m guessing is to do with too many carbs in one meal? (Otherwise I don’t know what the problem is) but massaman and gang garai gai curries both have potatoes in them and served with rice 🤷‍♀️

Me too

But I had to try🤯🤯🤯

It's like wading through fucking treacle.

Is treacle high in calories? Hope it doesn't trigger our Nigella too much🤯

IlooklikeNigella · 24/03/2025 20:26

I also am not going for a devil may care attitude @jenrobin It's an anonymous forum, maybe other posters really get concerned with how they are received. If that's you then please don't project the same viewpoint into me.

Fair! 😂

My DH has just made lamb shanks in a madras curry, OMG! Delicious!

We are going to have it tomorrow, because recipe said it’s best next day.

Obs with rice and naan!

Clafoutie · 24/03/2025 21:01

TwigletsAndRadishes · 24/03/2025 09:13

Do you think one person ordering a rice and TWO naans for herself is not a massive meal? My DH and I order one rice and one naan between us. I've recently been on Wegovy so I eat much smaller meals than I used to, but even when I was eating much more than was good for me, we still ordered one rice and one naan between us. At a push we might have ordered a second rice if DH was feeling especially hungry or wanted some to use with leftover curry the next day, but who on earth orders TWO naans plus a rice just for themselves?

If you don't think that's alarming then there is something wrong with you.

Seems a bit extreme!

Now THAT is what I call funny.

So cute how well you two are getting on. You might even get an invitation to her Big Banquet Night this Thursday 😘

@JohnWayneswife FYI, I didn’t ever describe it as a “big” banquet night!

But you are of course welcome, but it is just a banquet night we have in the UK Indian restaurant.

If it has Lamb Dopiaza count me in

With yummy poppadoms rice and nan.

Mind as I'm in Belfast I might have to swim over which will kill all those extra calories

MasterBeth · 24/03/2025 21:12

Why order so much food?

When ordering from my local Indian we order one grain of rice, a crumb of naan and a teaspoon of curry each - and there's still enough for breakfast the next day as leftovers. And it costs us 30 pence including delivery

I'm sure you can order every dish on the menu! Sure if it's only occasionally like once an evening it's actually proven to be very good for you.

I have it for breakfast brunch lunch and dinner.

Sometimes a little snack before bedtime

That's why I'm a teeny tiny size 4

BRILLIANT! I actually spat filtered water all over my screen when I read that. Is this the kind of high end material you'll be lobbing out on Thursday night? What a scream for all the other diners.

That’s DHs dish of choice, in a restaurant. I’ll get him to practise the Dopiaza!

I’ll bring a towel and hoodie for your swim, I myself am a cold water swimmer, so I know how you’ll feel.

I'm now questioning OP's character. OP has left us hanging, whilst watching a bun fight go on and on and on and on, on her thread.

I think CF was executing some revenge. Perhaps OP had annoyed CF with similar inconclusive behaviour in the past.

You can’t have a bun AND a fight - that’s just absolute greed and every single person in the whole wide world who isn’t a gluttonous lard bucket agrees.

Every restaurant that I’ve visited in my 499 years as a successful slimming coach asks if you want a bun OR a fight
