Would you consider this “having stuffed yourself all day”

I was talking to a friend and she accused me of competitive underrating, which i certainly was not doing! I referred to my eating as having stuffed my face all day and she told me to get a grip and she found what I said triggering!

What I ate:

  • Scrambled eggs (2 eggs) with veggies toasted sarnie
  • Beans on toast (2 slices)
  • Half a carton of precut pineapple
  • chicken wings and celery with hot sauce
  • a child’s plate of ravioli and homemade cheese sauce (this was on top off my dinner and purely a craving, I was full so it was very much not needed)

I went to bed uncomfortably stuffed. So to me i did “stuff my face all day”

What do you think?

I'd just tell her you're not a mind reader and you can't be expected to know in advance what she would find 'triggering' <eye roll>*

*Unless you know full well she has significant food issues, as she clearly does.

I dont normally eat FOUR slices of shit bread but I was on my period

Tbh it doesn't sound much to me

Member869894 · 17/03/2025 11:47

But I am a glutton!

HundredMilesAnHour · 17/03/2025 11:47

No, that isn’t “stuffing your face all day”.

dudsville · 17/03/2025 11:47

Why did she know the details of what you'd eaten? I don't think anyone, including those I live with, know everything I eat in a day.

Sunat45degrees · 17/03/2025 11:47

While that certainly wasn't the healthiest day and sounds very carb heavy, no, I would not consider that to be "stuffing your face all day" and I can see how someone who genuniely struggles with food intake would find it a bit annoying.

Having said that, I'd just eye roll at you vs get offended and tell you off.

QuestionableMouse · 17/03/2025 11:48

That's not really much food over a day. Equivalent to two sandwiches and a main meal.

TickingAlongNicely · 17/03/2025 11:48

"Stuffing yourself" implies loads of junk like cakes, crisps etc.

You had breakfast, lunch and dinner, and some fruit.

No, that isn’t “stuffing your face all day”.

It is if it's outside of your normal (because she's on her period). That uncomfortable 'stuffed' feeling is really horrible.

Treeleaf11 · 17/03/2025 11:48

Over the course of a day it definitely isn't stuffing your face

Cause she said “so what did you eat then?” when i was had told her i had stuffed my face.

what else is eating food when you are full?

OP posts:
Nursemumma92 · 17/03/2025 11:48

No I wouldn't consider that stuffing myself all day.

Hysterectomynext · 17/03/2025 11:49

That sounds like a small amount of food. But I’m overweight. Why would you tell anyone what you’ve eaten in a day? I don’t think I’ve ever had that conversation with anyone

Two dinners effectively!

That would be a days food if I was on a diet, another tedious competitive undereating thread...

She asked.

That’s less than what I normally eat in a day.

I must be a right glutton 🤣

Two dinners?

one being ravioli covered in cheese sauce

Gymmum82 · 17/03/2025 11:50

No I wouldn’t say that’s ‘stuffing your face’ that sounds like a very average day to me.
That wouldn’t even meet my calorie requirements let alone exceed them

dudsville · 17/03/2025 11:50

Even if someone asked what I ate, I still wouldn't give a detailed break down. I think the issue might sit somewhat between you both rather than with one of you individually

Latenightreader · 17/03/2025 11:51

I am also a bit bemused by your need to tell someone about every morsel - not the sign of someone with a healthy relationship with food.

Stuffing yourself all day usually involves lots of snacking. But I think you know that.

Chicken wings and celery doesn’t sound like a balanced dinner to me.
A child’s portion of ravioli also doesn’t sound like a full meal to me.

So not really two dinners.

You are not the arbiter of what constitutes 'under' eating, just because it would be for you. It would be rude if I called you an 'overeater' and everyone is different. She felt stuffed and uncomfortable, she said so to her friend, you or the friend don't get to police and label how she feels as 'undereating'.

Mareleine · 17/03/2025 11:52

So you had four meals in a day? It's a bit more than usual but I'd expect "stuffing yourself all day" to include lots of snacks between meals.
