Absolutely mortified but was I unreasonable?

I took my just gone five year old bowling earlier. There are also arcade games, dodgems, a soft play etc.

There is a ride which is two big carousel style horses with reins that ‘gallop’ on the spot. There is a sign saying no under fives so DN was excited he was finally old enough to go on. I lifted him onto one horse and I sat on the other. Halfway through, a young man came over and told me to get off because the ride is for kids. I did, although he watched me undo the belt and get off as if I was a criminal.

WIBU to go on?

Life's too short.

Ride the horsey.

Mountain meets molehill.

He asked you to get off and you did 🤷‍♂️

Thanks, but I didn’t ask what happened.

Nephew. I missed ‘nephew’ from the first line.

Difficult to say without seeing the size if the horses.
I really wouldn't givw it another thought though

TheAlertFinch · 14/03/2025 23:43

Forget it. No need for a long face.

knephew · 14/03/2025 23:44

Neigh bother in my opinion

Overthebow · 14/03/2025 23:47

What did it look like? If it was like this ride then yes yabu.

Maybe the ride wasn't very stable with you on it.

Summerbay23 · 14/03/2025 23:50

It’s not a big deal, I’m guessing it was relatively small if only two horses so probably meant for kids but really not a big deal.

😂 No, they were the size of the horses you get at the carousel but they just went up and down on the spot.

It was definitely meant for kids, as are any rides in that type of place, but not under fives so not for very small kids where an adult would break it. It was
like two more modern versions of this pushed up together.

You/adults are heavier than most children and the mechanisms inside the rides are not that robust. They are probably fed up of having to send them away for repair and losing an income from it.

YWBU. Some things are for children only.

IdasFlowers · 15/03/2025 00:04

Anyone who said that to me would be no palomino

ZebedeeDougalFlorence · 15/03/2025 00:05

No harm done. You wanted to be a kid again (love it) and he was doing his job. You complied as soon as he told you to get off. Forget about the watching you as though you were a criminal part. He was just making sure you didn't get up to anymore mischief. Face it, OP, you're a rebel.

Creased 😂

Dontlletmedownbruce · 15/03/2025 00:23

You must have been too heavy for them so it's fair enough to ask you to get off. But there should have been a sign there to clarify. Telling you after you potentially damaged the ride isn't much good is it, as the horse had bolted.

Tedlassoswhistle · 15/03/2025 00:29

Resilience OP. Shake it off. No harm meant, no harm done.

Koulibiak · 15/03/2025 00:33

When alezan’s said and done, there’s no need to be mortified, especially if you ponied up for the ride
