Absolutely mortified but was I unreasonable?

I took my just gone five year old bowling earlier. There are also arcade games, dodgems, a soft play etc.

There is a ride which is two big carousel style horses with reins that ‘gallop’ on the spot. There is a sign saying no under fives so DN was excited he was finally old enough to go on. I lifted him onto one horse and I sat on the other. Halfway through, a young man came over and told me to get off because the ride is for kids. I did, although he watched me undo the belt and get off as if I was a criminal.

WIBU to go on?

What's with all the snippy replies from OP's lately? For the most part this post has been light-hearted it's the OP that seems to have a problem, there's been a lot like this lately

Seems the other way round to me. People are taking it seriously and snippily dissing her for being at all bothered. OP is being quite light-hearted in response.

The OP is only being “snippy” to posters who are being unnecessarily rude and condescending.

Did the young man work there? If so obviously they're not meant for adults but I don't think yabu for just sitting alongside your ds. I still remember the old bat in charge of the breakfast club at my dd's school telling me to get off the space hopper as it was just for kids. I was having fun bouncing around with my dd. Slightly mortifying on my part though. She was a right jobsworth

My god this is such a non-event! I don’t even think this story would make it to my catchup with my partner about my day 😴

Well it’s a relief you took time out of your busy day to let us know that.

Both me and mu husband have had a go on ones similar to that with our kids. My oldest is a teen and taller than us so do you have to stop riding by age or size?

Itsyourwifeymacrid · 23/03/2025 09:50

you was with your child,I don't see no harm in it at all,I'd of done exactly the same thing but probably wouldn't of been so nice so I think you did well

Itsyourwifeymacrid · 23/03/2025 09:56

my childs disabled so he rides something I'm afraid I'm coming along too,I see there's a lot of people that are really grumpy on here,it annoys me so much when someone has taken the time out to highlight her problem on a site that's made for doing just that and everyone's ripping into her,so your all telling me you've taken kids to play areas, fairs etc and not got on next to your child, lies, that's very dangerous
