I bought a lingerie set, and didn't realise I picked up the bloody brazilian style knickers.
So I wore them today, and It was TORTURE.
I went to IKEA with my mum and she couldn't get enough of the place, I wanted to scream all afternoon.
How can some people do it?

Do you know, I'm so sexless, I haven't worn thongs in over a decade (and I'm early 30s)

Thought you were talking about sandals and i'm not even Australian 😭

Yanbu though. Sensory nightmare!

Katemax82 · 11/03/2025 16:18

I didn't mind them until pregnancy and piles

offmynut · 11/03/2025 16:20

If others like them good for them.
However i have to have big pants huge ones lol i need something that covers my arse not stick up it.
I wore a pair once when i was about 19-20 and omg it was hell.
So in town went to peacocks and got new huge pants i think £2 at the time and went to the public loos to change never again.

Somethingthecatdraggedin7 · 11/03/2025 16:25

I have never understood why anyone would want pants which basically rub your anus as you move about.
There are other ways to avoid vpl if that is a reason.

DilemmaMama · 11/03/2025 16:26

I wear men’s boxer briefs. So comfy!

FidosMum84 · 11/03/2025 16:27

M&S no VPL thongs are lovely and comfy, and don’t cut you up like cheese wire.
But I do like Bridget jones with some outfits.

IDoAllMyOwnStunts · 11/03/2025 16:30

The secret to a comfortable thong is to buy two sizes up. Game changer 🤨

TheWernethWife · 11/03/2025 16:31

Walked behind a woman yesterday who wore a thomg, both her arse cheeks were wobbling, definitely not a good look

Plump82 · 11/03/2025 16:31

I'm on holiday and brought some to save space (hand luggage) as I do normally like a larger pant!! Put them on this morning and bent over to pick something up and my butt cheeks ate my trousers!! Thank god I'd bought one pair of proper pants that I'll now need to wash every night!!!

Divebar2021 · 11/03/2025 16:34

Brazilian knickers are different to thongs though aren’t they… they’re kind of “ half hog” where as thongs are “whole hog”. I have to say I’ve been kind of enraged trying to find swimwear and lingerie sets that didn’t have only Brazilian bottoms such is my dislike of them. I would have bought a set by Lemonade Dolls but the nice colour ways had no full briefs 😩

I was about to say, you need to size up.

ItGhoul · 11/03/2025 16:46

They're one of those things you just get used to over time. During the late 90s/early 2000s thongs were pretty much the default knickers for girls my age at the time, and I remember finding them uncomfortable the first couple of times I wore them and then just becoming completely unaware of them like with any other knickers.

Brazilian knickers and thongs are slightly different though. I actually quite like a Brazilian knicker.

BridgetJonesesOwl · 11/03/2025 16:47

Brazilians are not thongs.
I wear them & they are very comfortable.

Thongs are those g string type knickers.
I hate those as they are bloody uncomfortable!

Manchesterbythesea · 11/03/2025 16:48

They are so uncomfortable. And no bit of oul coverage at the front either.

SamanthaJonesWasRight · 11/03/2025 16:49

A brazillian cut and a thong is not the same creature. I can cope with the former but not the latter, at all, despite wearing them daily in the 90s. Maybe they're a young person's game.

G Strings and thongs are different. G strings are the uncomfortable floss things that do feel like cheese wire, things are a bit wider and much more comfortable.

FatLarrysBanned · 11/03/2025 16:55

They are my knicker of choice and I'm 49.

My cheeks tend to eat the material of anything more arse covering so the least amount of material the better or it just all ends up my crack.

I do have a cracking bum though (excuse the pun). Nicely rounded, cellulite free and just the right amount of wobble.

ChewbaccaAteMyHamster · 11/03/2025 16:58

I have worn thongs my entire adult life. I don't get why people say they are not comfortable as I think they are super comfy. I always buy a few sizes up though so no digging in and no muffin top. I turned 50 this year and still can't imagine wearing bigger pants.

Livelaughlurgy · 11/03/2025 17:02

It's funny isn't it. I hate Brazilian knickers, like a thong, hate a boy short. Everyone's different.

aliceinawonderland · 11/03/2025 17:05

But isn’t it uncomfortable to have some material between your buttock cheeks where one’s skin is thinner and more sensitive?

TwattyMcFuckFace · 11/03/2025 17:05

It's funny but this is the 3rd or 4th thread about thongs in the last few weeks.

The others got deleted.

If they were 'torturing' you, you should have gone to the loo and removed them.

TooFancyNancy · 11/03/2025 17:09

Cant beat massive full brief ‘granny’ pants, preferably in a size or two bigger than you actually need, cover the full bum cheeks and gp all the way past the belly button up - really high waisted.
I’m 30 so probably should try to wear something sexier more often, but for everyday wear I wont wear anything else.

NerrSnerr · 11/03/2025 17:12

TheWernethWife · 11/03/2025 16:31

She probably didn't choose her underwear to please random women who are looking at her bum.

People should be able to wear whatever pants they wish without people judging how much their bum wobbles.

Thisshirtisonfire · 11/03/2025 17:13

I used to wear them no problem in my 20s. But three babies later in my late 30s I could never. I want full coverage! Plain cotton, whole arse cheek cover and come upto your proper waist.
My 20 yo self would be appalled!! But I just can't stand the feel of any faffy underwear now. The general public is lucky if I even wear a moulded or underwired bra tbh.

Lol yup. Fine if you're in your 20's. Not fine after that 😂
