Swinging teachers

Interested to read some opinions on this. Someone we know has found out that a teacher at their child's school is a swinger. This person is aghast about this and wants to report the teacher (not sure what for) and is refusing to let them teach their child.
My attitude is that as long as it doesn't affect their work (whichbit clearly isnt) then what the teacher chooses to do in their private time is their business and their business only. ATBU?

OP posts:

Grosses me out but everyone to their own.
I wouldn't want to touch them, but everyone to their own.
🙄

It's probably best not to touch teachers anyway.

Do you only touch people who have never had sex ? How do you know ?

ImAMinion · 08/03/2025 20:16

I reckon if a whole load of professionals from across the whole working world were lined up and the full truth of their lives were revealed, a lot of people would be shocked.

Swinging is about consenting adults having sex with other consenting adults in private. If that floats their boat and doesn’t interfere with their professional work, fine.

I mean I was a bit shocked when a good friend admitted how much her and her DH enjoy porn. I think we can all be a bit naive about the lives of others.

BobbyBiscuits · 08/03/2025 20:20

How could someone prove it, unless they were swingers also?

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 08/03/2025 20:21

Are swings in the school playground being hogged? If not, let her swing away in the comfort of her own home.

TheWombatleague · 08/03/2025 20:25

Do they teach it to O level?

Didn't say anything about people who never had sex, obviously I wouldn't know. OP talks about swinging teachers. As an asexual person (most probably), this really makes me gawp.

ElleneAsanto · 08/03/2025 20:28

Is “swinging” still a thing? Conjures up 1970s images of picking car keys from a dish and pampas grass in suburban front gardens for me.

Jk987 · 08/03/2025 20:30

What have I just read? Aghast? Refuses to let the teacher teach their child 🙄

FKAT · 08/03/2025 20:30

I wouldn't want my kids to be taught by someone who hasn't got the boundaries or discretion to keep their sex life private, no.

The whole point about swinging is that they like involving onlookers in their sex lives. Big red flag.

Whammyyammy · 08/03/2025 18:07

If she's swinging in class in front of the kids- report.
If she's doing outside of school hours behind closed doors- she needs to mind her own business.

😆

Not since 1988.

WhiteWriting · 08/03/2025 20:37

And this is why teachers are leaving in droves - everyone thinks they own them.

TheWombatleague · 08/03/2025 20:37

LeticiaMorales · 08/03/2025 20:35

I didn't want to suggest A level, seemed too rude.

So it’d be OK if your children’s teacher regularly raped his wife as long as it was behind closed doors?

You have no idea what any teacher’s sex life involves.

Well the way it's going, it'll be either Ms Swinger for your kids, or 12 different supply teachers then someone unqualified.

BobbyBiscuits · 08/03/2025 20:20

That crossed my mind as well. Although, maybe they think it's ok for people in certain professions but not for others?

Middlemarch123 · 08/03/2025 20:54

Good for them. When I was teaching I hardly had the energy to make a cup of tea, let alone entertain the idea of swinging.

As someone who is involved in online dating, it is definitely still a thing. I have in my profile that I'm not interested in swinging/"ethical non-monogamy," etc., but I still get offers at least once a week.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 08/03/2025 21:00

It wouldn't bother me, her personal life is her own.

ThreeMagicNumber · 08/03/2025 21:17

What anyone does as part of their sex life is absolutely nothing to do with their job if its with legally consenting adults.

laraitopbanana · 08/03/2025 21:22

« Has found out… »
😳

give them the same treatment they propose to give the teacher and report to school?

Charlize43 · 08/03/2025 21:26

Although I haven't tried it, I am sure swinging can be very educational.
