Swinging teachers

Interested to read some opinions on this. Someone we know has found out that a teacher at their child's school is a swinger. This person is aghast about this and wants to report the teacher (not sure what for) and is refusing to let them teach their child.
My attitude is that as long as it doesn't affect their work (whichbit clearly isnt) then what the teacher chooses to do in their private time is their business and their business only. ATBU?

I'm proud to say I am, I expect professionalism from people who earn mega-buck salaries, sleeping around means they have no self-respect, end of !

If I were a relative of yours, I would be very worried about your state of mind. You are spouting some extremely weird and worrying things. Are you suffering from a mental health issue?

You are seriously strange! So many people have said the same, but you are still coming out with responses that bear little or no resemblance to the original comment. You are a very weird person indeed.

'The whole point about swinging is that they like involving onlookers in their sex lives. Big red flag.'

@FKAT 😂😂😂 Are you ok?

How do you know what 'the whole point about swinging' is? Big red flag lol.

Right? All sex is inappropriate for children, so we should probably insist that teachers remain celibate.

I was taught by nuns. You do not want celibate teaching staff.

ObelixtheGaul · 17/03/2025 09:19

Why would it be? There are other things people do that they look forward to. Would you have an issue with their mind being on a nice weekend away for their wedding anniversary? Or can teachers not do anything they enjoy out of school in case their mind isn't on the teaching?

At this point, I think you are just being silly for giggles.

There outside lives should be left at the School Gate, their minds she be on educating those in their charge, not day-dreaming about what they're getting up to at the weekend, whether it's naughty or not !

I'm not weird, I suppose I'm old-fashioned in the sense I like conventionality and routine in my own life, I don't like change, I really do not want promiscuous persons having anything to d with my family, their morals are not just lax, they are non-existant.

Well, yes, I don't disagree with that, but my point is, why would you specifically target people's minds not being on the job because outside working hours they do something you disapprove of? A swinger is no more likely to be distracted than anyone with a more 'wholesome' hobby. If you don't assume people who go to dance classes or do am dram in their spare time are unable to teach effectively because they are thinking about their outside life, why assume that about swingers?

No, I just have standards and morals, all too lacking in today's society.

Because promiscuity is dangerous and dirty, quite frankly, I wonder what the parents (on the assumption they're alive, but elderly) of swinging people in professional occupations would say if they knew, I bet they don't !.........(don't tell me, it's nothing to do with the parents of swingers, groan)

Ok. I won't tell you. You've changed your argument again and haven't answered my question. You said Swingers' minds wouldn't be on the job. They'd be thinking about it at work. You thinking it's dangerous and dirty has no relevance to your argument that it would be a distraction. It's no more a distraction than anything else.

We'll just have to agree to differ then (about minds being on the job)

You can't answer the question, can you?

tentimesover · 08/03/2025 18:02

How did they find out?

If it was at all advertised that they were online or common knowledge among other teachers/parents I would think it was inappropriate and a safeguarding issue.

Can you explain how it's a safeguarding issue?

Rewis · 18/03/2025 10:26

PointsSouth · 18/03/2025 09:34

Cause everyone who doesn't have sex only with their spouse, in the dark, in missionary, once a week on a Saturday between dinner and evening news is obviously a child abuser.

ObelixtheGaul · 18/03/2025 09:28

No, I don't think a teacher s mind is on their job who swings, swinging is a distraction, is that answer enough for you?

Why would it be more of a distraction at work than weekend flower-arranging, rock-climbing, volleyball, choir or archery?

It's honestly not obvious why that would be the case. I can only assume that sex is so important to you that you can't imagine people being able to think of anything else once they start.

No. You still haven't answered why swinging is more of a distraction than, say, amateur dramatics

Why is it any more of a distraction for swingers than it is for anyone else who has sex? What makes them more distracted lol

I'd argument the teachers not getting any are more distracted. Therefore the swingers are more concentrated on the job.

Markovenchip · 18/03/2025 18:33

You'll all be relieved to hear I am not responding to any more posts where I am quoted on this thread, you obviously all condone 'swinging', which in turn means you all approve of blatant promiscuity, what strange upbringings you've all had if that's the way you all think, would you like it if your partner or own (grown-up) children swung ?.......you probably couldn't care less, as your morals and standards are the lowest of the low, thank you and goodnight.

sammylady37 · 18/03/2025 19:17

I hope these swinging teachers teach their pupils that morals are very subjective and that standing in judgement on others perfectly legal lifestyles is not a particularly Christian thing to do…
