Swinging teachers

Interested to read some opinions on this. Someone we know has found out that a teacher at their child's school is a swinger. This person is aghast about this and wants to report the teacher (not sure what for) and is refusing to let them teach their child.
My attitude is that as long as it doesn't affect their work (whichbit clearly isnt) then what the teacher chooses to do in their private time is their business and their business only. ATBU?

None of their business what this teacher does out of work! Reporting them is ridiculous.

Retired headteacher here. I can confirm that the Monday morning staffroom is on fire with tales of weekend sex romps with multiple partners, some of them human, while dressed in studded leather thongs and ingesting copious amounts of class A drugs.

I used to try and force my staff to stay in their classroom cupboards all weekend, marking books and sharpening pencils but they kept escaping so I gave up. Degenerates, the lot of them.

I dont think they would be swinging on the tip though, so it's still irrelevant.

I meant bring them on a swinging trip like a zoo outing, it was supposed to be a joke!

I need to retrain and become a teacher!

It is relevant if other teachers or staff in the school are partaking, even if nowhere near the school and at weekends. Conflict of interest in a sense if someone manages another person.

I also would not want someone who does this taking PSHE lessons.

However, my guess is it could be a nasty rumour.

Why not?
What she's does during her sex life isn't going to adversely effect what she has to teach regarding PSHE. They have a curriculum to follow and it has to be age related.
Why are people's private sex lives got anything to do with their jobs?

WHAT!!

Teachers have sex?! 😱😱

They should be struck off and never be allowed around children ever again!

Right? All sex is inappropriate for children, so we should probably insist that teachers remain celibate.

PurBal · 08/03/2025 19:34

When I was at school one of the teachers was found on Gaydar. He was sacked. No idea what safe guarding stuff is in place now.

We used to do that not so long ago. The practice stopped but the attitudes clearly still prevail.

I hope he took the school to the cleaners for unfair dismissal and discrimination. Sacked for being gay and on a dating site? Wow.

Honestly, it’s over 20 years ago during Section 28. So probably not. It was obviously considered an issue at the time.

That's what I initially thought but then doubted they would have had gaydar at that time.

So how did she stumble across this fascinating fact OP? Because if it was purely gossip then that doesn't put her in a good light 🙄

Ladamesansmerci · 08/03/2025 19:44

As long as they're not talking about it and class and plastering it all over their socials, who cares 🤷

Booboobagins · 08/03/2025 19:46

I really hate this cancel culture, its utter madness and often cruel.

As long as their actions dont affect their ability to teach, are legal and dont put kids in harms way who cares.

Some people have very small minds...!

From the title I thought you meant people teaching others how to be swingers

Well, it's always extra income to add to a classroom teacher's salary.

Yes, good thinking. They should take a vow.

LongDarkTeatime · 08/03/2025 19:47

A friend’s primary school head teacher was advertising on an escort site. She said there was a Governors meeting. Seems they didn’t care about it (he’d already left his wife).
So doubt Governors would care about swinging.

I'm surprised they find the time and energy.

As a teacher this was my first thought too

Most teachers ARE celibate - far too knackered to even THINK about indulging in any rumpy-pumpy during term time, and holidays are for being ill with all the viruses they've stored since Harvest Festival. It's a mystery how any of us ever managed to breed to be honest!

LeticiaMorales · 08/03/2025 19:54

I knew a teacher who was a member of the Conservative Party. I find that more shocking.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 08/03/2025 19:57

One of my teachers used to be a Morris dancer and occasionally take part in displays in our town centre. They'd probably have got more kudos if they'd been a swinger.

Davi8 · 08/03/2025 19:58

Sounds like the complainer is put out she can no longer go to swinging parties since DC’s teacher will be there. 😂

I wouldn’t care- although it might make their marking/planning on a Sunday a bit more onerous if they were up all night the night before… 😅

God. I'd rather confess to being a swinger (I'm not one btw!) than admit I married a Tory!

My teacher friends’ DC’s birthdays disproportionately land around April/May because they only have sex in the six week holiday according to them.
