Would you judge this in someone’s house?

I’m currently re-decorating parts of my house. I’ve come across a website that sells prints for the walls and I’ve found some I really like;

This house is full of love, laughter, and a little bit of what the fuck.

Pardon the mess, I decided not to give a shit today.

If you’re happy and you know it, it’s your meds!

As you can probably tell, our house is already a little bit eccentric with its decor… but would you judge someone for having prints like that on the wall with children living in the house or am I just overthinking it? 😅

I wouldn’t say anything to you but I would think they’re rather naff greetings card and also wouldn’t think it’s ok to have that up on the wall with young kids in the house.

Iamallowedtodisagreewithyou · 28/02/2025 11:04

Hmm, not with kids no, I'm a bit of a prude though by mumsnet standards.
Thats more for student houses really.

RomeoMcFlourish · 28/02/2025 11:05

I would find them really naff and inappropriate to have displayed around young children.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 28/02/2025 11:06

Awful, tacky and not appropriate around kids.

Stopandlook · 28/02/2025 11:06

Yes I would judge you

that’s my problem not yours though!

RedHillLady · 28/02/2025 11:06

I probably wouldn't say anything to you.....but I think they are totally inappropriate.

Alalalala · 28/02/2025 11:07

I think they’re really cringeworthy but that doesn’t matter - you do whatever brings you joy.

But - the swearing with young kids about is a no. It would make me wonder about the boundaries in your house in general, in that respect.

CorkieCook · 28/02/2025 11:07

Don't buy them, you'll find something nicer that won't embarrass the children when they look back at childhood photos.

slowraindrop · 28/02/2025 11:07

I would think they were a bit naff / banal as well, but then I'm sure there's stuff on my walls that aren't to other people's taste! I please myself.

CallMeDaphne · 28/02/2025 11:07

Just awful.

bullrushes · 28/02/2025 11:07

Yes I would if there are ever going to be kids in the house.

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 28/02/2025 11:08

Naff. Kids or no kids.

Chuchoter · 28/02/2025 11:08

Horrific and tacky.

NotTheDebtDoctorWithTheHungryScalpel · 28/02/2025 11:08

It's your home, don't have people who will judge your decor over if they don't like it.

My home is fairly eccentric and it brings me a lot if happiness.

It would be a boring world if our tastes were all the same.

Burntt · 28/02/2025 11:09

I'd not judge you any more than I judge the live laugh love stuff 🤮

But ultimately It's your house do as you please. I have one in my kitchen that says I run a tight shipwreck. Tacky as hell but I like the phrase so put it up anyway. I judge myself to be honest

Ahsheeit · 28/02/2025 11:09

I don't like them, crass or otherwise.

Acc0untant · 28/02/2025 11:09

I just think they sound tacky and not at all funny which is what I suppose they're going for.

MrsSkylerWhite · 28/02/2025 11:09

Trying too hard to be “edgy”. Pictorial equivalent of dad dancing.

XWKD · 28/02/2025 11:09

They wouldn't be for me, but if that's what you like...

Verite1 · 28/02/2025 11:10

Awful and tacky and totally inappropriate round young kids.

Completelyjo · 28/02/2025 11:12

I would roll my eyes to be honest, it’s pretty cringe and reminds me of the early internet memes 20 years ago. But it’s not my house.

OriginalUsername2 · 28/02/2025 11:13

I’d judge. Honest opinion? It comes across as trying too hard to be quirky.

I’m sorry!

TheMorels · 28/02/2025 11:13

Yes, I’d judge them to be twats.

Talipesmum · 28/02/2025 11:14

If you like that sort of thing, I saw these in a cafe place in King’s Cross, thought they were fun and along similar lines but perhaps a bit less naff. I may have been influenced by the fun lettering and expensive cafe surroundings though! I just google imaged and they’re by Babek Ganjei.

SharpLeader · 28/02/2025 11:14

I personally wouldn't comment, unless your personally known to me.
I personally don't like finger marks, any marks actually on walls drives me insane 😱lol.
My child has marks on one wall and I'm constantly cleaning it off 🙄😘
