AIBU to get angry about Pizza Express...

...pizzas with holes cut out and salad put in the middle? Why?! Why the fuck not just order a smaller pizza and get a side salad?!! Who get's the bits they cut out? Is there a secret menu? Are the 'holes' what prince andrew eats when he goes?
For something that doesn't concern me as I'd never order one it does make me quite unreasonably angry. In fact my dander levels have been drastically elevated since I saw the menu on Thursday.

(Although it does look like the chef enjoyed making it VERY much!😮)

YABU this is very old news however the first time I got one (after seeing it was lower calories) I thought "well no shit it's lower calorie, it's for part of it cut out"

Maybe set out in words (not an incoherent rant) what upsets you so much about something you’re never order and people can help? I wish I had so little (pizza) to concern me.

They do a lovely caramelised goats cheese one with rocket in the middle. Just don’t order if you don’t want it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I quite like them but the salad part has gone downhill these days. They don't really sell smaller pizzas do they? And it gets expensive buying a pizza and a salad separately.

I like them! I think they properly reform the holes into the dough balls or use them for the bruschetta.

What was it about the advertising (“salad filled hole in the middle”) that confused you?

I like them too and it’s a good way of having a lunch out without massive amount of calories.

If you want a pizza that's half the calories have half a pizza, but just the outer 3 inches is a stupidly impracticable way of doing it.

You can’t order half a pizza and I like having salad with the pizza too.

Why is it sad if you just want a smaller meal on that occasion? I find a whole pizza can be far too much sometimes especially if I fancy dessert.

I wouldn't order it because I don't like arugula. But I don't object to it's existence.

It's my favourite. No one else in my family likes goat cheese so I can't split a pizza and it's far too expensive to get a pizza and a salad just to waste half. It's the perfect meal for me.

Why? The restaurant can reuse the dough: so why is it impractical?

They should sell small pizzas. It would be my first executive order.

But it looks nice on the plate and it’s quite fun - they obviously only cook the ring of pizza dough with topping on, they aren’t binning the middle bit. It’s been around for years and it’s a way of eating out and keeping the calories part way to being a normal meal size. And it’s v tasty. Why complain about the shape of the pizza surface area??

I get one occasionally if I'm not super hungry.
Not often because my favourite PE pizza is Fiorentina, with egg in the middle.

What I have noticed recently is that quite a lot of their pizzas are now only available as the larger Romana pizzas - but it's rare for me to be tempted away from Fiorentina.

I think they're good too. You can't order half a pizza and if you want to share, invariably the other person would prefer something else. I would like some pizza + some salad, which this is. To the PP, why is it sad not to want to eat a whole pizza?
