What do you think of Blake Lively?

From what I’ve heard with the current drama surrounding her I’m shocked. Did anyone’s opinions of her change?

I think there is a weird "Blake Lively is awful" narrative in the press right now, this makes me suspicious! It would seem someone is paying for a fantastic PR team.

From memory JB hired someone that worked at the same firm that JD used, and it has come out that that person was happy to trash BL.

I don't really understand the argument that JB is automatically guilty because he used the same PR as Johnny Depp, so have lots of celebs? And Blake's PR was heavily involved with Harvey Weinstein, does that mean she's guilty?

I would hazard that JBs team are better (more ruthless).

Not aimed at you as such but those that keep bringing up the PR teams.

It's illogical, the only point of PR is to make the client look good!

I would be shocked if they didn't, my point is i suspect some are much more brutal and underhand than others. Also, if you've pissed off the media at some point they will keep on coming - see lily Allen. I don't believe everything that pops up about how awful people are, and there does seem to be an awful lot about terrible Blake Lively is.

JB’s legal team have denied this? Is there any proof? I’ve seen evidence of some weird messages from Blake to Justin , she could have been joking of course, her idea of humour or style of communication.

And no I’m not suggesting she should suck it up because she’s rich… that makes no sense whatsoever …what I’m saying is, why would JB jeapardise the film , his career and financial security by treating the star of his film who is more famous and better connected in Hollywood than he is , by subjecting her to sexual harrassment? Unless he’s completely ignorant, yet making a film about dv…. It doesn’t add up to me.

As for Ms Lively, none of us know her. I haven't seen her act so I can't comment on that. I can say she is certainly very beautiful and her husband comes across as a nice chap in the football documentary and that's almost it.

One thing I can say is that when a woman says she has been bullied and subjected to sexually appropriate behaviour, my first instinct is to believe her. As it would be if a woman told me she had been raped or subjected to male violence. Women lying about those things is rare.

Patriarchy pits women against each other. Breaking patriarchy permanently involves standing up for other women and strengrhening sisterhood.

So I believe Blake and I very much hope she's OK.

Why does anyone man jeopardise his career and family? Because he thinks he will likely get away with it, and they usually do.

Those sort will harass someone they think has less power than them, and therefore they can get away with it. Take Harvey Weinstein , Al Fayad, Jimmy Saville as examples . Blake had all the power in this situation, JB was over a barrel.

Just last week her own husband publicly made a flippant 'joke' relating to the ongoing drama between his wife and Justin. Glad to see him taking his wife's SH case seriously.

Well they would wouldn’t they. But Wayfarer acknowledged the complaints with the comment: “Although our perspective differs in many aspects, ensuring a safe environment for all is paramount”

that clearly says to me that wayfarer don’t agree but realise if they sign then the film is over , JB loses millions he’s sank into it already . They could not lose Blake , she knew she held all the cards

Men behave like they do in Hollywood because they are chauvinist and entitled and they get away with it for the most part. JB won’t have considered he was putting his career on the line because that kind of behaviour is normal in that world if you listen to other actresses.

If they don’t agree they don’t sign it’s as simple as that. They had the option and so did JB of disputing any or all points legally. BL did not hold all the cards - she was up against the director, producer and billionaire co-owner of the studio and their lawyers.

It’s mainly Steve Sarowitz the billionaire co-founder of the studio’s millions actually.

No, it’s very simple , if they didn’t sign there was no film. They made clear they didn’t agree but signed anyway to get the film done. Blake’s connections and influence in Hollywood trump those of billionaire producer etc. It appears to me that Blake wanted control of the film , she made a power play and she got her way.

Bollocks. Do you know how many films have been below up during or post production due to legal wrangling? If Blake’s complaints were completely without foundation lawyers would have advised to dispute and not admit any liability because it could come back to bite them as it has.

I’ve no idea why you think Blake’s connections trump a billionaire producer - it’s just total nonsense. She didn’t have a fraction of his money.
