From what I’ve heard with the current drama surrounding her I’m shocked. Did anyone’s opinions of her change?

ps this isn’t a bashing thread

OP posts:
wipeywipe · 24/02/2025 05:52

Is it true her team has asked for 2.5 yrs of all phone records? Doesn't her team already have the evidence of the PR smear, I thought that was what the original article was based on?

JennyForeigner · 24/02/2025 06:09

She's pretty, I don't really care, she was surprisingly good in a shark movie

That's all of it.

Littlemisscapable · 24/02/2025 06:27

She has lovely hair. Seriously though they are so wealthy and.well connected. She needed this movie to give her career a boost and it was a good movie not a flop or anything. It did well. The promotion of movie was over. So it makes no sense to create all the drama if there wasnt incidents and evidence. Why would she? It's going to cost them loads and either way it may cost her her career. So I'm team Blake.

I don’t form opinions on celebrities based on media headlines (from rag newspapers) and social media bullshit stories.

This is a bit unnecessarily patronising! You could read the text messages the lawyers used as evidence, for example. Doesn't mean you read gossip trash. Those text messages from her about dragons and what have you were admittedly a really strange and weird thing to send to a co worker. She does sound like very hard work.

Blinky21 · 24/02/2025 07:21

I think the comments she has made about Ryan Reynolds and Taylor are pretty cringe. I think Ryan is worse, having watched the Wrexham series, he comes off as really insincere. Bringing them in to fight her battles due to their star power feels intomidadatory. Don't like any of them

wipeywipe · 24/02/2025 09:57

yes i liked the shark movie!

@Atomickitten how was she vulnerable though? Genuine question?

How that be a genuine question? Are you implying that if someone has money and status they cannot be in any way personally vulnerable?

Would you put up with this from male coworkers:

  • being shown nude images and videos of women including their wives
  • discussing their porn addictions with you
  • discussing non consensual sex acts with you
  • describing their genitalia to you
  • trying to get you to discuss your personal sexual experiences
  • discussing your dead father

And is it your belief that you should just suck it up, or that because you’re (presumably) not living in dire poverty you have no right to feel uncomfortable or complain?

My question is, if this was indeed the case why would any woman put up with this kind of work environment if you were not under contract to do so?

BL had not signed her contract, she could have walked at any time with no repercussions and well its not as if she needed the job .

Working without a signed contract doesn’t mean you’re free from contractual obligations. An implied contract can be formed based on your communications and actions with your employer which create legally binding terms even without a signed agreement.

Verv · 24/02/2025 16:57

I find it interesting that women are assassinating the character of a woman they wouldnt have thought twice about had she not accused a man of sexual harassment.
Until she stepped out of line and seemingly beyond her station - nobody had a thought about Blake Lively above and beyond a shark film and a marriage to deadpool.

AliceMcK · 24/02/2025 17:01

Aworldofmyown · 23/02/2025 17:01

I think there is a weird "Blake Lively is awful" narrative in the press right now, this makes me suspicious! It would seem someone is paying for a fantastic PR team.

Well they do have a lot to work with. BL has made things very easy for any PR team to find dirt on her.

There’s the public mocking of her costar during a live panel saying “some of us were born in a cage” referring to Leighton Meester being born in prison. When no one laughed she said 'Come on, it was a joke! Lord have mercy.'

What kind of person mocks where someone is born so publicly? hmm let’s see the same kind of person who endorsed Woody Allen and how she thinks he’s “empowering to women”. Apparently she didn’t think about his personal life when supporting him or that his daughter has been claiming he sexually abused her since she was 7 years old. Even if you don’t believe Dylan Farrow and her family, there is no denying he was having sex with his long term partners adopted daughter, whether it started when she was 19 or 21 he was still her mothers partner and a father figure to her and in his 50s.

She even defended WA and judged an MC for his jokes about WA by saying "I think any jokes about rape, homophobia, or Hitler is not a joke. I think that was a hard thing swallow in 30 seconds," she said. "Film festivals are such a beautiful, respectful festivals [sic] of film and artists. And to have that, it felt like it wouldn’t have happened if it was in the 1940s. I can’t imagine Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby going out and doing that. It was more disappointing for the artists in the room that someone was going up there making jokes about something that wasn’t funny." Quite hypocritical there BL!

O and there is the most recent joke where she feigned shock surprise at the 50th anniversary of SNL where a pre scripted joke was made by her husband RR about this whole drama. Obviously RR and BL seem to think the whole thing about her being SH is funny so why wouldn’t the rest of us think the allegations are a joke???

Here’s more hypocrisy, her faux support of the #metoo campaign while publicly supporting Harvey Weinstein.

Then there is the whole slave plantation thing, who gets married in a slave plantation? Two mega Hollywood celebrities who apparently didn’t realise that a plantation in the American South was a slave plantation previously, there is a fucking street called slave street on it and slave boxs 🤔 If an uneducated English person such as myself can figure out the chances of it being a slave plantation then surely an American and Canadian and there highly paid pr firm and staff could put 2 and 2 together….

Then there are all her comments relating to “Trannies” hoping to have a child that grew up one so she could share all her clothes and shoes with them. She likes to drop the word in randomly in conversation apparently.

Im fairly certain this won’t be all there is to find in her vast closet!

It’s fascinating the amount of time and effort (some) women will go to prove another woman (in this case a famous and attractive one) is not a nice person.

All of which is irrelevant to the issue of inappropriate behaviour on a film set followed by a PR takedown.

AngryBird6122 · 24/02/2025 17:09

God people really need to look into this story more

I don’t think the pp had to go to any effort

FrippEnos · 24/02/2025 17:35

I seem to recall with this that all the other cast members including the writer of the book were avoiding JB during the PR for this or at very leased the premier of it.

DeeDeeFuzzbot · 24/02/2025 17:59

I think too many of us have been the victim of sexual harassment.
It shouldn’t still be happening.
Regardless of who you are or who your husband is.
Whether you are likeable or not.
I like to think we can all agree to that.

The unanswered question is whether this harassment actually took place.

No sexual harassment complaints were made until the legal complaint in December last year, well after filming wrapped.
Which surprised me.
No HR complaint, no involvement of the people who you usually turn to in order to resolve such problems. There are a number of routes on set, that could have been taken to register a complaint and have it dealt with swiftly and effectively.

Boom! Over and done with!

Team Lively opted instead, for a list of demands which insinuated harassment or accused unacceptable behaviour.
Demands which were non negotiable AND non revise able!
Yes. That’s right! Lively’s team refused to negotiate.
So, the only option for the production was to accept, regardless of whether they felt they were baseless or unjust.

Or Blake Lively would refuse to come back to work.
Risking 100’s of jobs and millions of dollars of investment. Not to mention time and creative work. And potentially having to find other new actors? Disaster!!!

If we consider, JB and BL , previous to this, were talking, working while breast pumping, text messaging, voice messaging, on a daily basis…sometimes well into the night.

And after some of these instances of sexual harassment were said to have taken place?

That is so weird.

We know there is more to this story than we currently have in our sights.

Of course, we don’t have all the facts yet.

We have accusations, rebuttals, counter accusations.
SH, extortion, bullying, smearing! What a mix!

So I don’t think there’s any point in insulting people who have an opinion on a half (if that) told story.

Please be kind. Even if the world isn’t. ❤️

I feel free to disagree on a lot of things in this thread. But to be clear, my mind isn’t made up yet on who did what because we aren’t in a position to know it all.

A position maybe some of Blake Lively’s co-stars may also be in at the moment too. Which may explain some of the repositioning we have seen online and in the press.

In terms of who was in a position of power, we may need to look not only at the outcome but how they got there.

Who was placating whom and at what stage in production, will show the individuals who really had the “power” in all this.

From what has been released to the public so far, the people involved are not looking too good. Regardless of what gender they are.

Unfortunately the internet is rife with misogyny. And proof of it being weaponized will be found. It hasn’t been…so far.

The thing I remember is, they both need to find evidence for EVERYTHING they are accusing each other of doing.
An accusation is only that. An accusation.

If they have been found to have lied or intentionally misrepresented JUST ONE thing, it will undermine their credibility as a witness.

They will be interviewed under oath in deposition. And any variations in answer will literally be picked apart. Because the truth should be consistent.

We have some evidence presented. Which has been revealing and fascinating.
But not all of it.

Back to the point of what I think about Blake Lively?
Watching interviews with the actress reveals some horrible attitudes and behaviours. Not only about her interactions with interviewers and co-stars but also how she intentionally (and with dishonesty) approaches her fellow colleagues on set. They were words from her own mouth. And how she chose through her own volition to represent herself to the public.
Unedited.

And it’s worth remembering that Team Lively only dropped their lawsuit about SH because they felt they were being smeared.

Can you imagine if that wasn’t the case?!!
IF…Baldoni literally did nothing to cause the online tsunami of anti Blake sentiment?
Then all this is a gigantic waste of time!!!! 😜

It’s a fascinating and rather grimy insight into their world.

I shouldn’t enjoy this so much 😉

Ontobetterthings · 24/02/2025 18:08

I just saw an old interview of her spose to be talking about a film but she was rambling on trying to sell her husbands gin. She was rambling on for about 10 mins word vomit and the interviewer couldn't get a word in. I think she was trying to be funny but it just looked so rude and the interviewer looked uncomfortable.

I like a couple of Blake’s films including it ends with us. When I heard about her law suit and what she asked JBs team to sign for her to return to the film set I immediately took her side and thought badly of JB. I’d never heard of him before I watched this film. HOWEVER, I then read up on it and realised there was more to the story and I now lean towards team JB. Admittedly I don’t know the full story but I’m now sceptical of BL’s intentions…

It could well be that they have been told to distance themselves from it all, I just find it weird that it is rarely if ever mentioned.

She could have easily absorbed a breach of contract penalty, but she knew they desperately wouldn’t want her to leave. She had them over a barrel .

That’s what I saw too.
I think that’s why Lively’s team want 2.5 years worth of communication…
Texts
Voicemails
Emails
Location information
etc etc not limited to etc etc

of 15 different people!

to find evidence And prove their suspicions.
Not sure if the judge will agree to it.
It’s an unprecedented request apparently.
Who knows what they will find in the discovery process!
