I wait all day to get back into bed

Is this weird, some sort of depression or normal?

I just can’t wait to get back into bed at night

Heater on, fluffy pjs, just warm and under the covers with my phone and just peace.

I don’t have this in summer as much, so I know it’s to do with the cold and wanting to be warm and relaxed too

I think about it towards late afternoon a lot

Anyone else the same?

What if you are doing something fun during the day? Do you still think "I would rather be in bed right now" ?

Tumbler2121 · 04/02/2025 22:00

Just sounds as though you’re content, you’re not interested in a 8.30 invite to go to a party of to see a band!

not the same but i hold that once the bra is off I’m going nowhere!

Iamallowedtodisagreewithyou · 04/02/2025 22:02

I bloody love my bed but i'm also happy to do nice things during the day.

myotherusernamesarebetter · 04/02/2025 22:03

Yep, yep. I do plenty of good stuff during the day but getting into bed is the best thing! Get cosy, nothing to do and nowhere to be, it’s the best part of the day!

Mwnci123 · 04/02/2025 22:03

I'm the same. Nothing I like more than going to be. Think about it from the afternoon on really.

TheJaneyB · 04/02/2025 22:04

I just really like being in bed. It’s my favourite thing!

Its been known

Come on, op. Do you really think depressed people think things like I can’t wait to get my fluffy pj’s on and get cosy and relaxed?

Devilsmommy · 04/02/2025 22:06

SAD or seasonal affected disorder. Alot of people get it in winter

Not at that moment really, but I usually am glad to be home and then put my pjs on pretty much straightaway. That’s still not as good as the getting in bed part. Dd asleep, Dh watching tv downstairs, just me, no one wanting anything and also warm 😅

Bed and a cup of tea. Brings me so much joy

Hattieandcake · 04/02/2025 22:08

I am the same in winter. If you have kids that are not adults yet I think it’s totally normal as we don’t get the usual weekend chill?

SpringBunnyHopHop · 04/02/2025 22:10

I don’t think about it all day but I do go as early as possible.

MyFlightWasAwfulThanksForAsking · 04/02/2025 22:10

I am exactly like this in the winter! Occasionally I get into bed straight after I finish work. Going to bed is my favourite part of the day.

Jellykat · 04/02/2025 22:12

I'm the same, Its our form of hibernating! plus my house is freezing so i look forward to being warm in bed and relaxing my bones

Missionimprobable · 04/02/2025 22:13

@Frigginfreeezing
I envy you.
I love getting in my pj's but dread bedtime.
As soon as I turn the light off, my brain goes into overdrive.
I think about my day, I even think about things that happened 10+ yrs ago.
Then I toss and turn until I drop off due to exhaustion.
I can't remember the last time I had a good night's sleep

NotAScoobyDoo2 · 04/02/2025 22:13

I love my bed. If I can I'm in bed at 9 and asleep by 10.

mynamechangemyrules · 04/02/2025 22:14

I read this and then sort of hop sprinted and tucked up in bed! I think it's the cold which makes it really.
(And this is even for me, I don't have a bedroom or real bed 🤪 but same effect with a roll up mattress on the floor of my kids room)

StormingNorman · 04/02/2025 22:14

I’m like this too. Going back to bed is the first thing I think about when I get up in the morning (after snoozing for 40 minutes).

Frigginfreeezing · 04/02/2025 22:24

I also really love sleeping, perhaps i’m just a lazy sod

SpringBunnyHopHop · 04/02/2025 22:25

I’m definitely hibernating but it does feel a bit.. I don’t know. Sad? I feel like I should be making better use of my evenings.

Pigeonqueen · 04/02/2025 22:25

I’m exactly the same.

ilovemyhamster · 04/02/2025 22:29

Quite often my first thought on waking is "oo I can't wait to get back in here later on". But then I work a full day, go to at least one gym class and end up cooking and get to bed at 10. Then the cycle starts again. I adore my bed

FumingTRex · 04/02/2025 22:29

I think the key bit is this: “noone wanting anything”

After the school run most days i spend 5 minutes just standing looking at my garden, i also enjoy just looking out of window, i didnt used to be like this but I w because of years of being constantly in demand

Happyearlyretirement · 04/02/2025 22:42

I love my bed and around 8pm I’m thinking when can I acceptably excuse myself to bed, 10.00 is early. I do go to the gym 5 days a week so I’m not lazy but I love the warmth and comfort of my bed unashamedly.
