Off the lead and enjoying a run around, we were the only people in that area of the national trust park,
It was closed to cars and not many people brave (or stupid) enough to walk.

We stumbled upon a lovely little family of snowmen,
however the one that she could reach was a really small but brilliant feathers McGraw with a carrot for a beak. I was going to take a photo and realised she's pinched his beak and ate it!

She's never stolen anything before but she was so fast!

Fab - the carrot would otherwise have gone to waste. Your dog clearly knew that.🤷🏻‍♀️

FOJN · 07/01/2025 16:50

Mines the right height for sharing toddlers ice cream. I live near a beach. I have not been humiliated yet, I hope it never happens.

MagnoliaTreeBlossom · 07/01/2025 16:50

I clicked on this wondering what on earth your dog had done.

The appeal and availability of the carrot lead me to say she was not at fault. I imagine she was very pleased to discover a healthy, crunchy snack on her walk.

I would have laughed so much if I'd seen this. 😂

That’s not funny though is it. It’s terrifying for the child. What the hell are you laughing about???

vodkaredbullgirl · 07/01/2025 16:51

My dogs love carrots, one would have eaten it the other would just look at it.

harriethoyle · 07/01/2025 16:53

Ddog loves carrot. He’d have been right in there. Previous ddog 🌈 adored raspberries - only realised he was stealing them off the canes in the garden when I caught him in the act 🤣

Catch yourself on. Gentle removal of anything is not terrifying 🙄

There's always one

mitogoshigg · 07/01/2025 16:57

It's not only dogs doing the stealing, a crow stole my childhood ddog's bone when he was a pup, he held a grudge against black coloured birds for the rest of his life. Neither of my dogs have been food orientated so never stole off picnics, the funniest thing was my dog plonking himself right among someone's picnic waiting for his ball to be thrown and after being somewhat surprised he had joined them they were most perplexed he refused even a cocktail sausage from them, he wouldn't eat in the park even from me (weird I know)

Haha. Mine disgraced herself on our first visit to Italy last year....

We stopped at a pet shop to grab some bits. She waltzed in, helped herself to a massive biscuit treat, and promptly pissed all over the floor! Blush

She never toilets inside, so I think it was just a flourish she added into her little theft routine

We had taken great pride in our first crop of tomatoes in the greenhouse....but none of them seem to ripen...until I went early one morning and caught Ddog. She gently sniffed each one until she found one that was ripe enough to her liking and scarfed it down!

Yup, not something I’d want anywhere near me. Keep your dog on a lead if you can’t keep it away from innocent members of the public. Just the usual level of entitlement people have come to expect from dog owners.

You are the problem.

My lab was pinched raspberries off a bush I had in the garden from one side. Had to move it way from him before he ate the lot.

Mine ate the face off Snowman Jeff yesterday - it was a carrot, 2 cherry tomatoes and a strip of courgette

CornishPorsche · 07/01/2025 17:07

Action photo of my dog playing Rudolph at Christmas to put authentic teeth marks in the carrot! 😂
