Off the lead and enjoying a run around, we were the only people in that area of the national trust park,
It was closed to cars and not many people brave (or stupid) enough to walk.

We stumbled upon a lovely little family of snowmen,
however the one that she could reach was a really small but brilliant feathers McGraw with a carrot for a beak. I was going to take a photo and realised she's pinched his beak and ate it!

She's never stolen anything before but she was so fast!

We met a couple during a walk last week. The lady was blind. She was fussing ours and one of them weed up her leg. He has never done anything like that before. She took it very well!

I just love this thread 🥰

So many funny stories and so many adorable dogs, bliss.

nonbinaryfinery · 07/01/2025 21:01

My dog pissed on a headless snowman earlier.

happygertie · 07/01/2025 21:03

@Skiptogetfit how to ruin a light hearted thread

My dog loves working in the greenhouse with his granny, however due to past thefts of tomatoes he is usually left outside with the occasional tomato thrown out for him, which the chickens then steal from him.

Mine loved being in the greenhouse with her granny too. My mum was wondering why all the ripe cherry tomatoes, closer to ground level, were disappearing. Turns out, my ddog was helping herself to them, along with the strawberries (she's small, otherwise the ones higher up would likely have disappeared too). She's now banned from the greenhouse.

Hoardasurass · 07/01/2025 21:09

@Skiptogetfit you'd hate my dog she can inhale a biscotti from a child's hand and be half way along the street before the child even realises it's gone 😳
Ps she's on the lead and doesn't even turn her head towards the child/buggy I swear she just inhales it on the way past

He's not subtle he was found in the raised bed harvesting strawberries one day.

Maybe my child is well socialised? What sort of presumption is that? He'd been happy seeing dogs up to that point.
Maybe it was during covid when there wasn't much socialisation. Sorry I can't stop a plague on all our houses. Maybe was, maybe wasn't. Don't make assumptions though but seems you already have.
Maybe the world doesn't live according to your rosy selfish rules.
Maybe dog owners should take RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR DOGS instead of letting them bowl kids over and give them the scare of their life.
Maybe you should pay for my kid's therapy. You are after all one of the ones who has caused it and seem pretty nonchalant about it.
Because apparently it's all my fault. Not yours.
What a convenient entitled dog-owning world you live in. People like you give them all a bad name. I used to own a dog for the record. He was adorable. But some dog owners are bad and need to learn that it's not funny when a dog whips something out of child's hand and they really do need to go over and say sorry and talk to the child and sort things out and not leave an unstitched psychological wound gaping open.

But I don't care about you, your child or your opinions .
You know nothing of my life.

So why bother commenting then. I don't care about yours either. But you made a lot of assumptions about my life, so I made some about yours. What a fun game.

Why not go back to your nice little life in your presumptuous dog bubble, believing they are untouchable and other people are all far too sensitive. Yes do that. Take no responsibility like the bad owners do. And continue to give young children phobias. Lovely. Perfect. But only in your nasty little world.

NorthernDramaLlama · 07/01/2025 21:33

We have a couple of dog friendly pubs near us and we pop in for a drink sometimes after a dog walk. If I went in on my own I’d be ignored, but with the dog the staff are all “hello, Stacey, spacey *not the dog’s real name” and give her cuddles and treats. DDog isn’t interested in any other food as she knows the bar staff will treat her every time they come round.
Embarrassed moment when we found out she’d stolen, lavishly slobbered and slightly nibbled the furry lined croc another customer had left unsupervised on the floor!

This beast has just stolen a pat of butter and scarfed it down! Rookie error leaving it out.

Uh oh! Prepare for either horrific puke or the oiliest, smelliest, slidiest shits ever!

PlopSofa · 07/01/2025 21:38

@Randomontheinternet25 another bad dog owner. Laughing at my DS's phobia.

Thanks for that. I hope you experience anxiety of some kind that makes your heart thump uncomfortably for no good reason due to someone else's carelessness.

You sound like it's not just your child that needs therapy .

You sound like it's not just your child that needs therapy .

You sound like you need to learn to become a better owner. This has nothing to do with me. My DS was fine until he had two incidents with two bad dog owners in quick succession.

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR DOGS.

It's really that simple.

PlopSofa · 07/01/2025 21:41

I can do the laughy emoji too @Randomontheinternet25

How childish you are. Another person not bothering to be a little kinder and a little more compassionate that they are sharing the world with others, not dictating according to how your animal behaves.

CorduroySituation · 07/01/2025 21:42

Oh bore off and start your own thread about how much you hate dogs/owners, this was fun until the joy sponges turned up.

Randomontheinternet25 · 07/01/2025 21:42

@PlopSofa 😂😂😂
You honestly sound like you need some help. Do you struggle with real life social interaction or do you just save it for the internet?

PlopSofa · 07/01/2025 21:43

Oh bore off the lot of you too. Worshiping your animals and assuming the world does too. For the record I love dogs.

But I hate bad dog owners and I see rather too many signs of them here. So I thought it was high time for a reminder to be more vigilant and actually step in and offer to do the RIGHT THING.

Why don't you get off your high horse and go lecture someone who gives a shit

Sophiasguitar · 07/01/2025 21:47

Think someone’s had far too much internet for today.

I was cycling through a park once when a Westie sauntered in front of me. I slammed on the brakes only for him to piss up my wheel 🤣🤣
