My dog has disgraced herself this morning.

Off the lead and enjoying a run around, we were the only people in that area of the national trust park,
It was closed to cars and not many people brave (or stupid) enough to walk.

We stumbled upon a lovely little family of snowmen,
however the one that she could reach was a really small but brilliant feathers McGraw with a carrot for a beak. I was going to take a photo and realised she's pinched his beak and ate it!

She's never stolen anything before but she was so fast!

Dog is obsessed with shoes. One day we had a plumber round to repair a leaky tap. He took his shoes off before going upstairs and before I could blink DDog was running around with his shoe in her mouth. Thankfully he saw the funny side.

Brilliant! 🥰

@Bamboozledbylife bizarre isn't it?

No, it's not bizarre at all. It could be terrifying for a child that is not used to dogs.

I don't understand why so many can't see that there is a world of difference between taking a carrot from a snowman and stealing food from an unfamiliar child's hand. There is no comparison between the two.

Am I really the only dog owner here that can see this?

Totally outing to anyone who knows my family, but when I was a kid I had my 10th birthday at a venue which also hosts away days/team building etc and the senior people from the local police force were there. DDad gets my 5 month old puppy out of the car (it’s a mostly outdoor venue) and the chief constable comes over, it turns out he keeps dogs of the same breed and is making a fuss of pup who then pees on his leg. Fortunately chief constable sees the funny side of this! On top of this, my best friend and his family were coming to dinner at our house after the party. DDad had been to the butchers and got some nice steak and put it in the boot of the car, with pup. Had to pull over on drive home as pup appeared in the rear view mirror with a chunk of sirloin in his mouth. 😭 emergency stop at Tesco on way back! 😂

@CoubousAndTourmalet no I think a lot of us can see that, it's just this isn't the thread to moan about irresponsible dog owners. If you want to moan about that start your own thread.

DDog snatched a soft toy from a toddler once who was scared. DDog was immediately put on the lead and we talked to the toddler and parent. I was very apologetic. I didn't post that anecdote on here because I realise it's NOT funny. But snatching food from an unwitting toddler who didn't even realise is different again. No trauma induced I'm sure.

@CoubousAndTourmalet because there are some posters on Mumsnet who have a habit of tarring every dog owner with the same brush and will go on and on in the hope they will wear you down until you agree with them, it's one of the things that drives me nuts. The level of crazy astounds me sometimes. These people are probably perfectly nice if you meet them in real life but behind the safety of a keyboard they say some awful (and ridiculous things) they wouldn't dream of saying face to face.

When DDog was a pup he was obsessed with long hair, especially swinging off DDs ponytail. He was also banned from the sofa so he associated (still does) people getting on the floor as an invitation to play.
We had a Virgin media man visit to look at our ropey broadband and he said he loved dogs so I felt confident enough not to shut ddog away. I left the room briefly and heard a yell so rushed back in to see the man (who had gone onto the floor to access the router) lying down on his back with a 6 month old Golden Retriever puppy attached to his Dreadlocks!
DDog is 9 now and the same man visited the other day and he was still laughing about it.

My mum came to stay a few years ago. One morning she asked me if I’d seen her dentures. We scoured the house for them until we found our (now sadly departed) lurcher sitting on the bed calmly chewing on them. It was as if she was trying them out for size!

My mum had a chip in her dentures where the dog had got hold of them. She still wore them Envy but my mother is a whole other thread/train wreck
