Off the lead and enjoying a run around, we were the only people in that area of the national trust park,
It was closed to cars and not many people brave (or stupid) enough to walk.

We stumbled upon a lovely little family of snowmen,
however the one that she could reach was a really small but brilliant feathers McGraw with a carrot for a beak. I was going to take a photo and realised she's pinched his beak and ate it!

She's never stolen anything before but she was so fast!

@Randomontheinternet25 You really should have put up a trigger warning for that terrifying photo! 😁

That’s not funny though is it. It’s terrifying for the child. What the hell are you laughing about???

This is wildly dramatic. The dog stole a sausage roll, it didn’t steal the child ffs.

Oh he's adorable 😍 💕 I wouldn't mind if he stole my sausage roll 😋

I shared this with my aunt whose dog sadly died last year and it really made her smile! That’s exactly the sort of thing her dog would have done. X

I once watch a toddler surreptitiously feed several unwanted jam sandwiches to a Labrador that was laying under the train seat behind… sometimes it’s not the dogs fault…

My friend went to the kitchen to serve a roast dinner intended for his whole family only to find his dog had somehow learnt to open the air fryer and eaten the entire chicken 😂

Hotflushesandchilblains · 07/01/2025 17:23

One of my dogs LOVES carrots, more than anything else. If you are peeling them, she will come and bark at you til you give her one.

Ihateboris · 07/01/2025 17:24

My labrador is more shoe orientated than food orientated Blush

My dog loves carrots so much, I took him to my parents and he disappeared in the garden for ages. He then came flying down the garden covered in dirt - little shit had dug up my dad’s vegetable patch and helped himself to a carrot!

he now makes a beeline for the veg patch every time he visits!

Sounds about right! We caught my neighbours young children on several occasions launching food they’d been given over the garden fence for the dog 😂had to gently explain that some food is poisonous for dogs so they shouldn’t do it but that if they asked they might be able to. Cue several months of hearing our names screamed from outside followed by “can dogs eat YOGURTS??” 😂

I thought you weee going to say your dog peed on the snowman🙈mind is well and truly in the gutter!

Yup, not something I’d want anywhere near me. Keep your dog on a lead if you can’t keep it away from innocent members of the public. Just the usual level of entitlement people have come to expect from dog owners.

You are the problem.

Dogs are also innocent members of the public. If another toddler had taken the sausage roll would you be calling for them to be put on a lead?

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 07/01/2025 17:41

My dog looks adorable and whenever we go somewhere dog treats are on offer people will offer her one. But she is not at all food orientated and will stare at them as though they are mad ('mum, mum, there's this mad person trying to get me to EAT THINGS!') and very occasionally will take the treat and then spit it out at the person's feet. It's humiliating.

My older dog will often spit out treats she is given. But she figured out early on that many people in our very dog friendly town will then offer her another type of treat. Then she has 2 treats!

Mine always do the same. I had one boy who would subtly twist his nose to the side away from the offending treat as if to show his displeasure.

You’re on the wrong thread @Skiptogetfit

These are clearly light hearted posts and the PP saying their dog gently took the sausage roll from a child’s hand, wouldn’t be posting if said child had been upset by it.

As a child, my sister offered a neighbour’s boxer a lick of her ice cream. Boxer obviously took the whole thing in one bite. My sister wasn’t traumatised, she grew up to love boxers and is now on her 6th.

@Sn000w your dog has done everyone a favour by tidying up the carrot.

vodkaredbullgirl · 07/01/2025 17:49

@Vroomfondleswaistcoat I got one who would accept from people. My other dog wouldn't, she won't even take treats from the vet.

BoldBlueZebra · 07/01/2025 17:51

My dog once sat at the side and slightly behind of me in a seaside cafe and behaved beautifully I realised after a while he was so quiet and still because he was licking a small kids ice cream and they were taking turns
