And German politics and just focus on the President he’s already paid for and turning X into a toxic wasteland.

They went up hugely under the Tories and their laughable extortionate Rueanda policy that has removed money from the nhs and education. Lets give labour a little longer than a few months shall we. We gave the Tories 14 years.

Unfortunately for the Tories the grey vote cares about the nhs - a lot and they need the grey vote to survive.

They also care about winter fuel payments. The NHS is a system unfit for purpose, no government can save it, so Labour will simply be the government in power as it inevitably slides further downhill. interestingly I’m seeing increasing number of teens moving away from the lefts ideology.

Labour will never stop the boats - they fail to acknowledge the issues at stake. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/oct/26/small-boats-channel-crossings-figures-labour-home-office

You may be happy for this to be brushed under a rug. Many are not.

How is implementing the recommendations of the inquiry that’s already taken place brushing it under the rug?

Tories won’t stop the boats we all know that. It was their only policy and they rose massively under their 14 years leadership. 🤣

Re winter fuel many of the grey vote agree with it thinking the nhs is more important than many getting an allowance they don’t need and having a state pension increase of the same amount.

We know Farage wants to privatise the nhs which is deeply unpopular. They have no other policies.

This pensioner doesn’t give a stuff about winter fuel payments and that issue will have vanished into the far distance before the next election. There was 70% public satisfaction with the NHS in 2010, if this government drastically reduces waiting lists and increases the number of GP appointments satisfaction ratings are like to rise from the current 23%.

But the Tories aren’t in power, Labour are. It is irrelevant what the Tories would do. The relevant question is what are Labour doing? Presumably they think the reason the won the election is because they think they can do better than the stories. So what are Labour doing to stop the boats?

Labour have a history of having no policies in opposition, in fact I can clearly remember David Lammy on Question Time saying his job wasn’t to have policies it was to oppose the government (can clearly remember thinking what a stupid thing to say).

Oh a lot of pensioners are upset about the winter fuel payments.

Fantastic sample of one. Who can argue against that

We can only deduce that they are perfect and the model to follow.

In fact, as a US citizen, the real question for people who aren't stupid is why is Musk talking about the UK. If my neighbour told me my house is on fire, I would immediately look behind me to deal with it. If some gobshite cunt from another country who transferred his allegiance to a 3rd country crossed the Atlantic to tell me my house was on fire my first thought would be "lock the doors and call the police. This is some sort of criminal scam"

Clearly I'm just not stupid. I wish I was. Everything would be so simple.

As with many things, I suspect the answer is Russia & Putin.

It isn’t likely to be a co incidence that the three countries he is meddling in -US, Germany & UK are the largest backers of Ukraine.

Unlikeky, at the end of the day these countries are powerful economies. That is the reason- doubt it has anything to do with Russia

@MrsRagnarLothbrok no I don't and I've been a big contributor to the prince Andrew threads have you??

I've also contributed to any thread on here about children being attacked.

Have you?

And finally because the focus and subject on this thread is what's in the current news I'm talking about this.

Are you?

Bully for you but What does any of that have to do with what I said? contributing to threads good for you!! Talk is cheap, usually by people like you. Yes before you ask I have been involved in more that talking about these girls

Musks "involvement" is merely old fashioned tawdry greed dressed up to dazzle the easily dazzled.

He's just shitting bricks because Teslas are crap, sales are tanking and China will easily outpace them in the next decade.

Hey - I like this alternative interpretation game. Fuck wordle.

The main issue caused by the pandemic was to identify how (literally) terminally stupid enough people are that you could probably get enough to start a riot.

CandlesClementines · 04/01/2025 12:28

@MrsRagnarLothbrok but this is a talk forum?

No many feel like this. We’ve done running services into the ground for 14 years. Most voters want decent services with nhs dentists, GP appointments, decent school buildings etc.

There's no law that states someone can't have an opinion.

Let's start with......

Rupert Murdoch

History will judge him very well for exposing a despicable establishment cover up.

Musk has exposed (checks) a despicable establishment cover up in the same way I am about to expose that water is wet. Yeah, blowing the gaffe wide open on big ocean.

(Guess who got the game "hyperbole" for Christmas ? Thanks kids !)

E2A: However I will admit that I have no examples of people who were treated as saviours in their own lifetime only to be subsequently re-evaluated in the light of history. None whatsoever. There are no examples of a leader being celebrated - saluted even - by (say) a 700,000 people in a stadium only to then turn out to be a bit of a wrong 'un. It's never happened

They really don’t! Many many people get far less than many many people getting it. It needed to be means tested, even many who have lost it think that. The Tories were just too chicken to sort it.
