To ask about men 5ft 7 and 9 stone?

Jumell · 17/12/2024 10:01

I’m getting back with my ex - and he mentioned last night he was 9 stone - he’s 5ft 7

i always thought he’s got a gorgeous lean physique but still think this sounds skinny for a man

but he looks fabulous I think 🙌

Any thoughts on these stats ?

What thoughts would we have?

Do you think like me it sounds thin for a man

or not particularly

He’s much too short and skinny for me, so you can keep him, thank you for the kind offer though.

tilypu · 17/12/2024 10:03

You've just said he's lean.

What are you hoping to gain by this post?

PaterPower · 17/12/2024 10:04

Sounds like a healthy weight to me - does it matter what the scales indicate if he floats your boat?

Admittedly no

Do it in kilograms. It might sound fatter.

NordicwithTeen · 17/12/2024 10:05

I'm 5ft 9 and 9 stone and on the verge of healthy and underweight for a woman. I would say he is fine if you're looking for someone leaner and shorter.

niadainud · 17/12/2024 10:05

Unless you are wondering if he has an eating disorder, what does it matter what other people think?

Jumell · 17/12/2024 10:06

Just if people like me think it sounds thin or if people think it actually sounds perfectly reasonable

Yep I think 9 stone is around 57

OneTC · 17/12/2024 10:07

It's quite small but he's pretty light even for that height. It's not "too" anything.

Without seeing him impossible to say.

i’d be more concerned if I thought I saw signs that it was intentional- if he eats and exercises normally then it’s how he is. If he’s restricting food or otherwise focussed on being thin I’d run a mile. I’ve had an ED and do not need to be around anyone else with diet/food issues.

HPandthelastwish · 17/12/2024 10:07

Well you'll be able to fatten him up with Greggs, and be safe in the knowledge he won't add to your tiny £30 a month food bill.

But why? I understand what you are asking. I don't understand why you are asking it.

You find him attractive at the weight he is - why would what people think of that height/weight in theory, not knowing what it actually looks like, matter?

I admit this is one of those moments when I literally DID lol at reading this post

Does he look like a featherweight or a heroin addict? These would be my deciding factors

yes good point to be fair more featherweight - he looks toned

BobbyBiscuits · 17/12/2024 10:11

If you're that height then 9 stone would look reasonable on either sex.
I'm around 5'6 so prefer taller men, usually pretty lanky and skinny. Is my preferred type.
You say he's your ex, what's changed that you think it will work this time? And why do you care what he weighs if you say you find him attractive?

Mischance · 17/12/2024 10:11

My late DH was 5 foot 8 inches and weighed 8 stone - now THAT is skinny! I liked it!!

It is skinny .. but as you say that body type is attractive to many !

I would say his age would make a difference too. If he's early 20s then it would probably suit him better than if he's older.
My other half is 5ft 7 and 41, he'd look like an absolute twig if he weighed 9st.
