Pizza Hut Buffet

IAKnowyou · 14/10/2024 17:46

Posting here to hopefully get some quick answers.

So I will be going to Pizza Hut for the buffet, at the weekend with my child for one of her friend's parties.
There's a few of us going, and I've had a look online and at weekends it is 15.99 per adult and 10.99 for children !
I am absolutely not going to eat 15.99 worth of pizza! And I doubt my child will eat £11 worth.
Would I be unreasonable to just pay for my child and maybe have a slice of pizza or 2?
I know they charge different per head to stop this. But how do they police this ??
It's not a huge deal, but I would definitely like to know before I go, and like to know if other people do this or not ?
Thanks !

Maybe so. Is it so wrong to think the price of something is too high to justify, in this day and age ?? I don't think so. If that's entitled, so be it.

Of course you can think the price is too high. But your options are suck it up or don’t go. There isn’t a third option where you can just scab your way through it.

itsgettingweird · 14/10/2024 18:19

You get salad and pasta with the buffet and usually drinks too.

My biggest gripe is that Pizza Hut never included (not sure if it's changed?) GF pizza in the buffet. It cost me almost as much for a small gf pizza as it did for buffet for ds and friends (adult one) and I wasn't even allowed the salad!

Reason it pisses me off is merlin make you a GF pizza at their buffets and you can have the salad and drink for same price as buffet. Worth it despite not being able to have pasta.

tonyhawks23 · 14/10/2024 18:20

If you don't want to pay for yourself why not eat before you go in,why expect to get free food in a restaurant just because it's not your choice?you have to enjoy this stuff,or just send the kid in with their friends!

tonyhawks23 · 14/10/2024 18:21

Yes the drinks, salad, pasta and ice-cream machine desert is included in the price.

Flatulence · 14/10/2024 18:22

If you don't think it's worth the price, don't go.

It would be VVVVV unreasonable (and theft) to not pay for yourself but still eat.

Don't be so tight.

We are all paying for ourselves and our own children, it's only a small get together thing rather than an official multi - child party

And were you not aware that they sell pizzas not just have a buffet? Isn't sharing one the first thing you would think of?

I've never been to a Pizza Hut buffet. The price includes pasta, salad, drinks and ice cream? It sounds like a bargain!

tonyhawks23 · 14/10/2024 18:23

On GF they may have changed that now as when we went they asked us if we had any dietary requirements or preferences so I imagine they now cater better.

bryceQ · 14/10/2024 18:24

But it's not £15.99 for two slices of pizza, the money is paying for the rental, upkeep of the property, staff wages to make food and clean up, the cutlery, the tables and chairs, menus, marketing, insurance, electricity, WiFi and all the hundreds of other things. That's how eating out works!

Steal pizza ?? Jesus Christ 😂

If you eat food you haven't paid for then of course it's stealing. Your attitude sucks. The price is the price. You either pay it or you don't, but you can't just take things for free because you don't like the price.

Pizza hut buffet is a really good deal even on weekends,,you get a huge salad bar,two types of pasta, all the drinks you want and a huge range of pizza, and the ice-cream maker- you are paying for the fun family experience aswell, the kids love making their own deserts!I can't believe anyone would go to pizza hut and be so grinchy about it,don't go if it sounds too much or you don't like their food, but Def don't steal!

It looks like you have to pay extra to have the unlimited drinks and icecream, but only about 4 quid extra.

Sethera · 14/10/2024 18:24

According to the menu of the one near me, it is £10.99 for just pizza at the buffet (adult) - the £15.99 option includes a 'bottomless soft drink' and the foul pit of bacteria that is the ice cream factory.

Steal pizza ?? Jesus Christ 😂

That's what you would be doing.
Their terms are clearly provided.

tonyhawks23 · 14/10/2024 18:25

It really is a bargain!when we went on a weekday we realised that as a family of 5 it would be cheaper to eat once a day at pizza hut all you can eat than do our normal shopping for the week.and it's really fun and kid friendly as they make their own deserts and choose what they want.

Bluesclues1 · 14/10/2024 18:25

Do you squeak when you walk OP?

InsanelyItchy · 14/10/2024 18:26

Another classic case in AIBU...OP - am I being unreasonable? Everyone - Yes. OP - well, no I'm not.

That's weekdays. Weekends it's £15.99 for just pizza or £19.99 for drink and icecream.

Damb it OP you have me googling pizza hut now 🤣 Now I want pizza!

I have a feeling if I'm being attacked enough for asking a question like this.. that someone will be sure to tell me it's absolutely not acceptable to take home buffet food 😆

It isn't. Otherwise lots of people would.

tonyhawks23 · 14/10/2024 18:27

Ah I see maybe pizza hut prices vary around the country, ours is all in,so maybe better for us.but still,no reason to steal, just eat before you go in and say you had a big breakfast,or send kid on their own.

Justgoodforthegetting · 14/10/2024 18:27

OP some of the comments on this post are wild 🤣🤣 of course it’s not stealing!! People getting unreasonably annoyed by a simple question.
I know the definition of stealing very well and this definitely is not it.
So in the OP’s example, she would pay for her child to eat then would eat a slice or two from her child’s plate…. Unless I’m mistaken?
she would’ve already paid for that pizza so who would she be stealing it from? would it also be stealing if she paid only for her child, her child could only eat half the pizza so OP finished it off?
Come on, let’s not be silly. It may be a flagrant disregard for the rules of Pizza Hut…. But stealing it most certainly is not.

OP I would just buy a pizza to share and bin off the buffet, seems you’ll be getting watched by tons of Pizza Hut spies😳

Healingsfall · 14/10/2024 18:01

Could you just buy the buffet food then take home slices you don't eat? That way you might not feel so ripped off?

😂😂😂😂😂😂

You can't go to an all you can eat buffet and fill bags to take home 😂
