Pizza Hut Buffet

Posting here to hopefully get some quick answers.

So I will be going to Pizza Hut for the buffet, at the weekend with my child for one of her friend's parties.
There's a few of us going, and I've had a look online and at weekends it is 15.99 per adult and 10.99 for children !
I am absolutely not going to eat 15.99 worth of pizza! And I doubt my child will eat £11 worth.
Would I be unreasonable to just pay for my child and maybe have a slice of pizza or 2?
I know they charge different per head to stop this. But how do they police this ??
It's not a huge deal, but I would definitely like to know before I go, and like to know if other people do this or not ?
Thanks !

Bloody hell do Pizza Hut charge £18 for a pizza? And people pay it?

Mind blown.

“The train will be going to Manchester whether I buy a ticket or not and there are loads of empty seats which wouldn’t be generating any money anyway so there won’t be any actual real impact on the company, I’m just going to travel without paying.”

It’s just bonkers logic!

Tbf the most annoying thing about this thread is that I kind of know, deep down, that you’re right.

Still seems kind of different. But I guess it’s not.

I still don’t like the tone the initial respondents adopted towards OP. Not really necessary.

@AllHisCaterpillarFriends But surely as long as one person is eating it's okay, or if 2 people are sharing?
It's not like you're walking into an establishment and using their facilities but not purchasing a single thing. Or using their tables and chairs but bringing your own food from home or another place.
It doesn't even compare to a charity, as at least one person will be paying for something.

Buy food for your daughter and you have a glass of coke. You're really over thinking it.

Just wanted to provide the update we've all been waiting for.
Pizza Hut visit went well. I paid £15.99 for me and the SPOOKY code worked for my child. Woohoo.
All done via the app - so not one interaction with a staff member at all. (Until the end) In fact, I only saw one. Mopping the floor near the buffet. The other side of the restaurant was packed and lots more staff members.
At the end, we called a staff member over as we had a query about the ice cream bar (looked out of service but was not)
The STAFF MEMBER suggested ONE of us paying for ONE child for the ice cream station, and then sharing the bowl between all children.
PizzaGate closed 👍🏼🍕

Brilliant! 👏 Staff don't care quite as much as the high and mighty self righteous posters on here think they do! In fact thinking about it a lot of staff in chain restaurants expect you to have a discount code of some sort and quite often suggest to download one before paying! Or they suggest, as in this instance, ways to order that will get you most value for money.

Glad you had a good time though! 😁

So you can buy a buffet and get the kids one free? I know there last one excluded the adults buffets which seemed silly! Planning to go in the holidays

IAKnowyou · 21/10/2024 17:49

@CatsCuddles yes it's their half term deal, you add both buffets and at the end you put in the promo code and it reduces it to the price of the adult only :)

Amazing update OP!

I LOVE the irony (following the outrage on this thread) of the staff member suggesting sharing one ice cream 😂

Also, exact same experience as me last time I went - no interaction at all any staff! All done via the app.

Hope you & DD enjoyed! 🍕😋

IAKnowyou · 21/10/2024 18:03

@dreamer24 I wasn't going to update as it had died down, but after the ice cream situ.. I had to 🤣

StripyDog · 21/10/2024 20:19

What I really want to know is how many slices of pizza you had OP?

YourLastNerve · 21/10/2024 20:28

£15.99 is hardly expensive for pizza in a restaurant, on a buffet basis where most people go to eat a bigger meal.

You aren't just paying for ingredients. You're paying for the venue, furnishings, electricity, staff, admin costs of employing people, ordering food in bulk, running the restaurant etc.

How fucking little dp you think it should cost

When you only have £60 left for the rest of the month, it's a bit more of a struggle I guess

Why isn't the party girls parents paying for the kids meals? If you're having to pay yourself then get a pizza to share with your Daughter from the main menu that way you'll be paying for what you both eat.

are most people rich enough to pay for everyone on a night out?
I've always been brought up, everyone pays their way (or of course, for their kids) but everyone chips in for the birthday person, or one person closer to them pays for them.

I've seen people saying things like you shouldn't invite people for a meal out if you can't pay for them, and to me that just reads like, if you're not rich, you don't get to have a meal out with your friends for a special occasion.

for my birthday meal, my husband paid for me, and each guest paid for themself, apart from my very broke friend who we know loves good food, but often needs foodbank and so on. her birthday is a few days before mine, and we paid for her meal as her birthday present (for Christmas we usually take her to Lidl and get her stuff for her Christmas dinner. it's just her and sometimes her other half now, so we get her something that's a treat, like duck, or a mini roast joint, lots of nice cheeses, a decadent pudding and some drinks and so on) it means she doesn't have to worry about affording a special dinner. we go to my Mums for Christmas, so we're not in a position to invite her there for it, but if we were hosting it ourselves, we would.

she's one of my oldest friends. we met on the interview day for a job I was in for over a decade, and she's still in, and we just hit it off right away. love her to bits. she's practically family. I wish we could do more to help her financially, but the reason I had to stop working is because I'm my husbands carer. but we have so much in common and years of working together behind us. she's practically a sister now. I love her dearly. I've never been good at staying in contact with ex work friends, but she's very much the exception. she's family.

Pizza Hut pizza is horrendous anyway. If it's a friends party, aren't they providing food?

weirdly - it is one I like

Just pay the money and enjoy the pizza and salad

Katemax82 · 11/01/2026 08:20

This thread makes me want pizza hut salad (basically all the small chopped stuff and bacon bits covered in blue cheese dressing)
