Pizza Hut Buffet

IAKnowyou · 14/10/2024 17:46

Posting here to hopefully get some quick answers.

So I will be going to Pizza Hut for the buffet, at the weekend with my child for one of her friend's parties.
There's a few of us going, and I've had a look online and at weekends it is 15.99 per adult and 10.99 for children !
I am absolutely not going to eat 15.99 worth of pizza! And I doubt my child will eat £11 worth.
Would I be unreasonable to just pay for my child and maybe have a slice of pizza or 2?
I know they charge different per head to stop this. But how do they police this ??
It's not a huge deal, but I would definitely like to know before I go, and like to know if other people do this or not ?
Thanks !

'Attacked'?

You posted for quick answers, but don't like the fact that you're being told you're very unreasonable for not wanting to pay a restaurant for food you will consume.

Your sense of entitlement is awful.

I genuinely doubt they will give leftover boxes to people doing the buffet!

That's what I was thinking , although I don't know if I'd do this.. seems a bit scavvy to me. Although according to all of the money - saving nay-sayers on here .. I already am.

Hmmm I don’t half fancy a Pizza Hut buffet now…

Me too 😅

Maybe so. Is it so wrong to think the price of something is too high to justify, in this day and age ?? I don't think so. If that's entitled, so be it.

Of course it's unreasonable to help yourself to Pizza you haven't paid for.

Either pay for it and accept it's part of saying yes to the invitation or just order a pizza for you and DD to share.

makemeanoffericantrefuse · 14/10/2024 18:09

So don't go!

They do. We have before.

5128gap · 14/10/2024 18:10

All you can eat arrangements do not allow you to take home 'left overs'. It's what you can eat whilst there. For obvious reasons.

Waffle19 · 14/10/2024 18:10

Why would you eat only a slice or two? Just go and do it probably or don’t go if it’s too expensive.

CloudywMeatballs · 14/10/2024 18:12

I mean, it doesn't sound like it's particularly expensive for all you can eat to be honest, even for low quality food like Pizza Hut.

You have two options really. Don't go, or go and accept the price that they charge.

Healingsfall · 14/10/2024 18:12

If the buffet is £7.99 during the week then doubling the price at weekends to £15.99 for an adult seems steep to me! I know weekends tend to be a premium but double the price! No wonder the pizza hut in town is half empty at weekends!

coxesorangepippin · 14/10/2024 18:12

It was £28 for a large ham and mushroom on the Reebok stadium last week

So the buffet doesn't sound like a bad deal, tbh

viques · 14/10/2024 18:13

You aren’t missing out not having a Pizza Hut buffet, it’s a lot to pay to be exposed to other peoples revolting germs and questionable hygiene.

DryBiscuit · 14/10/2024 18:13

They wont let you ‘take anything home’ on a all you can eat buffet
(Nowhere does)

DryBiscuit · 14/10/2024 18:14

Just buy a pizza for u and your daughter to share
No need to do the buffet

Its not that difficult surely!?!?!

Lellojello · 14/10/2024 18:14

That's not how buffets work OP. Hence an adult's price and a child's price.

But I've never been to a kids party where we are expected to pay for the food.
Double check that because you are probably fretting for nothing and the food is covered by party child's parents.

makemeanoffericantrefuse · 14/10/2024 18:14

It's not just the pizza you're paying for anyway is it?
You're paying for the venue, the chefs, staff who will be seating you and clearing your tables, there's more to it than just the pizza.

wwjalme · 14/10/2024 18:15

If that's the all-in buffet including a bottomless drink and ice cream then it is good value for money compared to the cost of buying a pizza and a drink separately.

If you think it isn't good value to money/can't justify the cost/can't afford it then don't order it but don't pay for your child to have it and then steal pizza from your child's plate.

BrendaSmall · 14/10/2024 18:15

I always have the unlimited salad for £5.99 if I remember correctly! Purely because I don’t like pizza!

Sethera · 14/10/2024 18:16

The individual pizzas aren't much cheaper than the buffet, but you would then be able to take leftovers home. Or, you could have a salad/pasta/flatbread. Personally I'd do that - the buffet is all the pizzas they haven't sold and are nearing use-by date, so likely to be a bit stale.

Bjorkdidit · 14/10/2024 18:16

IAKnowyou · 14/10/2024 18:03

@Willyoujustbequiet yes not paid for. We are all paying for ourselves as otherwise it would be unaffordable for the birthday girls parent

So if they can't afford a party don't have one. Or go somewhere cheaper. Pizza Hut pizza is awful so there's no way in hell I'd pay £15.99 for it plus nearly as much for a child and no doubt stupidly overpriced drinks on top.

You can get a full nice pizza from loads of places for about £10-12 and you can take home what you don't eat.

SpiggingBelgium · 14/10/2024 18:18

How do they police this ? Do they have a staff member to watch each table ?? 😆

No - but they will come around and take your order. What are you going to do; sit there whistling and hope the waiter doesn’t notice you and ask what you’re eating? I’m sure most waiting staff are capable of counting how many people are at a table.

tonyhawks23 · 14/10/2024 18:18

Pizza hut buffet is a really good deal even on weekends,,you get a huge salad bar,two types of pasta, all the drinks you want and a huge range of pizza, and the ice-cream maker- you are paying for the fun family experience aswell, the kids love making their own deserts!I can't believe anyone would go to pizza hut and be so grinchy about it,don't go if it sounds too much or you don't like their food, but Def don't steal!

I'd like to be overthinking it, but I was consulted by parent the other day on price for each of us asking if it was okay. There's only 3/4 of us going so I can't say no, we are friends and so are the children. They're all really looking forward to it

OP posts:
Tink3rbell30 · 14/10/2024 18:19

I don't see the problem OP. The party is for the children so not all adults will want to eat. If your daughter had the buffet option and picked 5 slices of pizza but her eyes were too big for her belly and she only ate 4 then you'd eat the 5th rather than it going in the bin surely? Same thing.
