Pizza Hut Buffet

IAKnowyou · 14/10/2024 17:46

Posting here to hopefully get some quick answers.

So I will be going to Pizza Hut for the buffet, at the weekend with my child for one of her friend's parties.
There's a few of us going, and I've had a look online and at weekends it is 15.99 per adult and 10.99 for children !
I am absolutely not going to eat 15.99 worth of pizza! And I doubt my child will eat £11 worth.
Would I be unreasonable to just pay for my child and maybe have a slice of pizza or 2?
I know they charge different per head to stop this. But how do they police this ??
It's not a huge deal, but I would definitely like to know before I go, and like to know if other people do this or not ?
Thanks !

Kids eat free when you spend £10 before 3pm in October with the code SPOOKY :)

CatsCuddles · 14/10/2024 18:35

Why do people keep saying it includes ice cream and drinks? that’s only if you upgrade!

DaniMontyRae · 14/10/2024 18:35

This offer is currently running @IAKnowyou
but you do have to spend £10 to get it.

Edited

@IAKnowyou re-quoting this helpful post from another poster. Does this help make it more affordable for you?

'it's not embarrassing either'

It really is. I feel embarrassed for you.

It's a business - just pay for your own food
or don't eat. Simple.

You must be easy embarrassed. Is your bum hole clenching with embarrassed rage at the OP? Are you all tense with gritted teeth reading it?

God love you.

Go on OP, pinch a wee slice of pizza. Go mental x

Well that's what I'd have thought, but according to most on here that's an absolutely ludicrous thought, and I'm a cheeky criminal for even thinking of it.

Honestly if you want a slice or 2 from your daughter's buffet pick then go for it. No point ordering for yourself. If your daughter left a slice it isn't a crime to eat it yourself 😂

OP some of the comments on this post are wild 🤣🤣 of course it’s not stealing!! People getting unreasonably annoyed by a simple question.
I know the definition of stealing very well and this definitely is not it.
So in the OP’s example, she would pay for her child to eat then would eat a slice or two from her child’s plate…. Unless I’m mistaken?
she would’ve already paid for that pizza so who would she be stealing it from? would it also be stealing if she paid only for her child, her child could only eat half the pizza so OP finished it off?
Come on, let’s not be silly. It may be a flagrant disregard for the rules of Pizza Hut…. But stealing it most certainly is not.

OP I would just buy a pizza to share and bin off the buffet, seems you’ll be getting watched by tons of Pizza Hut spies😳

If she had bought an actual pizza for her child and then eaten part of it then it is not stealing. But that’s not what she’s doing!
If its a buffet pay per person - which it is! - and she’s not paying for herself but is still taking food she hasn’t paid for then it’s stealing!

IAKnowyou · 14/10/2024 18:36

@Healingsfall I was starting to have a slight change of heart at the idea it may include drinks and ice cream..... but now I've been put off again! 🤣

I think this thread can't be real!maybe some good pizza hut marketing!

Many places allow you to order using the app at the table, which you scan on your phone. Then you go and collect from the buffet. So sometimes there's no interaction with staff required.

Well I went to the Pizza Hut buffet last summer and they weren’t doing that. It would be pretty foolish, actually, as it would be very easy to con the system as OP is suggesting.

It's theft.
Expect them to charge you for adult access to the buffet.

@LittleMousewithcloggson I think you'd have a heart attack if I told you that I have scanned 2 cards as one in Tesco before 🫣

😂😂😂

You're a good 'un OP

The staff give you your bowls/cups etc

The last time we visited Pizza Hut, we literally had no interaction with a staff member at all. We sat down, scanned the code on the table, placed our order online, paid, went and collected our buffet food and plates / bowls / refillable drinks etc, sat down, ate, and left 🤷‍♀️

Genuinely had no need to speak to a staff member once.

Of course people eat their children’s leftovers. But you’re conveniently ignoring the bit where they haven’t ordered their own meal!

Still no reason to steal though.

That's stealing. You are a thief.

Where does it stop?

Ohfuckrucksack · 14/10/2024 18:38

It's all YOU can eat, not all you, your child, old Uncle Tom Cobbley and all can eat.

If you eat, you pay.

dreamer24 · 14/10/2024 18:39

@SpiggingBelgium
I last went in August (north east England), and the experience was exactly as I've described - never once spoke to a staff member except to be seated initially. Everything thereafter was done on the app and we collected our plates and food etc ourselves.

Sepoctnov · 14/10/2024 18:39

It's literally stealing. This is peak CF and so embarrassing.

I would just order a pizza for you and DD to share.

Well this was my thoughts exactly. And by the same logic... my child isn't paying for herself. I am paying for her (of course) so am I not entitled to a slice ?? What about if she was sat on my lap? What about if I hid under the table, or took a large trenchcoat to hide under and stuff my face? 🤣

Look at the offers.

Spooky before 3pm kids eat free.

Usually cheaper then.

@zeitweilig
I didn't say there was a "reason to steal"? I was responding to the person who said the staff member who took your order would be watching what you eat. I was pointing out that sometimes there's no interaction with a staff member at all if you order online.

LittleMousewithcloggson · 14/10/2024 18:40

It just reinforces my belief that you’re a thief who doesn’t care about anyone else and thinks rules don’t apply to them. That’s all. Fortunately I don’t know you (and I’m glad I don’t) so you are nothing to me and I definitely wouldn’t have an heart attack over it!

SilverPiscis · 14/10/2024 18:40

I don't understand that you find £15 expensive, it doesn't get much cheaper than that... Where can you eat for less than that nowadays? Probably just McDonalds. £15 is definitely a very reasonable price for a buffet, just pay it, order something else (cheaper) or don't eat there, of course YANVVVU

ginasevern · 14/10/2024 18:40

I think if there's only about 5 adults going (and they'll all be partaking of the buffet) you would look a bit sad not joining in. Also, it really would be embarrassing if you were confronted by a member of staff. Could be a proper downer on the whole occasion really.
