To be disgusted by the Deafening Silence of Celebrities in the wake of Diddy allegations?

I can't be the only one who's deeply troubled by the silence from certain A-list celebrities following the recent allegations against Sean Combs aka Diddy. It's been weeks since the news broke, and the lack of response from some of his closest associates in the industry is, quite frankly, disturbing.

Let's talk about Jay-Z and Beyoncé, for instance. These two have been thick as thieves with him for years. Countless collaborations, public appearances, and even vacations together. And now? Radio silence. Not even a peep about condemning the alleged actions or distancing themselves from him. It's baffling.

Ashton Kutcher is another one who's keeping silent. Given his vocal stance against human trafficking and exploitation, you'd think he'd be the first to speak up. But nope, nothing.

Now, I want to tread carefully when it comes to Usher and Justin Bieber. There's been speculation about their own experiences, and if they were indeed victims themselves, I absolutely respect their right to process this privately. No one should be forced to relive trauma or speak out if they're not ready.

But for those who weren't victimised? Their silence is deafening. How hard is it to release a statement saying, "I don't condone these actions" or "I had no knowledge of these alleged crimes"? Anything would be better than this awkward void.

I'm honestly shocked that there hasn't been more public backlash against these silent celebrities. In an era where "cancel culture" can be triggered by a misplaced tweet, how are they getting a free pass? Having your longtime friend and associate arrested on such serious charges, and you can't even muster up a word of condemnation? It's beyond disappointing.

What do you all think? Am I being too harsh, or is this silence truly inexcusable? Should we, as consumers and fans, be demanding more accountability from these public figures?

This is crackly my point. Why would you continue to be best friends with someone who has done all the crap he's done in plain sight!!!

Ignore the indictment, the things he is known to have done are downright disgusting

Perhaps he has dirt on a lot of his alleged friends and they're not really friends at all. The allegations of him giving people drugs (without their knowledge) means that any of the people around him may have been compromised and he's been holding it over them. Who knows? Assume the truth will come out at his trial, to some extent at least.

@UmbrellaEllaEllaElla exactly but I wish they would all lose their followers as a result of this as it's completely wrong.

If I had a best mate that was arrested for a crime I'd say SOMETHING.

It's safe to say I won't attend a Beyoncé concert again

It’s sub Judice isn’t it ? So they couldn’t comment publicly or they would be breaking the law.

Lifeomars · 29/09/2024 22:42

I always felt that there was something "off" about him, not that I was in any way familiar with his career, I just knew he was involved with J Lo for a while and when I saw photos of them, I thought he came across as domineering and arrogant. Not that you can truly tell anything from a photo but that was how I felt. Anyway, back to the OP comment, I think they are keeping quiet and waiting to see how it all pans out. From the perspective of self interest being silent makes sense. What a horrendous news cycle it is, this shocking case, the awful stuff about Mohamed Al Fyad and of course the continuing horror of the rape trial in France. Human depravity on an industrial scale.

SallyWD · 29/09/2024 22:43

I think often people stay silent until there's a verdict. The case is still ongoing, I believe. I wouldn't say anything until he's been sentenced, if I knew him.

tolerable · 29/09/2024 22:43

the silence of anyone that knows of atrocities is ALWAYS repulsive.
(saville,al fayed, schofied, and the rest). Is not relevant to wht country you in as to hooow this is "tolerated"
Allegations ARE NOT facts.
but. sin\crime is same no matter
WHO commits it.
ON A IS RELEVANT to british people-needy look at start.
ie LOCAL AUTHORITIES(absolute essential services for our most vulnerable)police, swk, health care,etc...
given the horrific failings and corruption and profiteering ALL feeding into(local)govment...theres no rel sprize those who are "elite" "high earners" "prolific" have free reign to do-and continue..
ITS neither new nor news.
ABUSE relies on power.
its not gony stop.

Noseybookworm · 29/09/2024 22:44

It's very possible that they will have to give evidence in court. They have probably been asked to give statements to the police and they will have legal representatives telling them to say absolutely nothing publicly. The last thing anyone would want is to derail a prosecution. There are laws about what can be reported once someone is charged.

It's probably for legal reasons - prejudicing the jury etc - if they may be called as witnesses.

Also hasn't Puff said he's planning to take down everyone involved if he goes down?

So maybe lots of them are involved.

GirlInTheMirror27 · 29/09/2024 22:45

Diddy has a lot of dirt on the Hollywood elite. Most are probably trying to see what the details are the feds have on him some may have been advised not to talk and others are leaving him to the sharks.

user47 · 29/09/2024 22:47

50 cent isn't staying quiet - he's making a docuseries! It's an strange world where Fiddy and Da Baby get to be righteous bros for sure 😂

Legal ramifications

SeptemberSunglasses · 29/09/2024 22:51

Maybe they can't because it's not gone to trial yet?

Devonshiregal · 29/09/2024 22:51

notaurewhatusername · 29/09/2024 22:01

@Devonshiregal have you seen the Cassie assault tape? Yes I'd have a hard time being friends with someone after seeing that

Yes which was exactly my point? Are you trying to be argumentative on purpose? I quite literally said that if you KNEW they’d done it obviously you wouldn’t be friends with them in the first place.

Naunet · 29/09/2024 22:52

Devonshiregal · 29/09/2024 21:50

Would you truly just ditch your mate no questions asked if they were accused of something terrible? I mean SURELY you wouldn’t be friends with them if you had any suspicion they were capable of doing those things. If any of my friend were accused of something so heinous I’d be in utter disbelief so would of course hear them out and be supportive (the moment I suspected anything might indeed be true of course I’d be out straight away)

so either they don’t believe (or are hoping against hope that the allegations are false)…or they knew, yet we’re still mateys with him. Either way making any kind of statement would be difficult.

So even if you saw a video of your friend beating the crap out of his girlfriend, you’d still want to hear his side first?

EarthSight · 29/09/2024 22:53

HotPotato123 · 29/09/2024 21:15

I think they’re all shitting themselves. That’s why.

Possibly NDAs are involved.

I agree. It's likely part of the reason he felt able to get away with things was that he had dirt on others, had them compromised in some way.

Opensesameseeds · 29/09/2024 22:58

Interesting to hear 50 and Eminem have spoken out. I’m not a fan of 50 cent due to the way he treats his eldest son, but I had a friend who went overnight on his tour bus years ago when he was in UK (like 2005) and said he was really nice and respectful.

I wonder if that’s why JLo eventually left Diddy. She found the baby boy scene fun for a while but then decided to duck out. Hearing he may be linked to Tupac and Biggies death is just unbelievable! 🤯

fallenbranches · 29/09/2024 22:59

I'm sure they are all being advised by lawyers. At this stage it would be very very dangerous to comment publicly. The whole industry seems like a massive cult. When I look back on Justin Bieber throughout the years, saw him start as a cute talented singer always smiling then turning aggressive, lashing out at journalists etc...I used to think 'what an arrogant knob', but now I really wonder what happened to him to change him so much. It's really sad. Beyoncé is basically controlled by her husband 100%. I cannot listen to her 'female empowering' hypocritical songs as a result of this. The sister lashing out at him in the lift said it all to me.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 29/09/2024 22:59

Singleandproud · 29/09/2024 21:06

I think silence speaks loudly. Their publicists have advised them to keep schtum for good reason.

P Diddy is an incredibly powerful man I have no doubt he / or his minions could quiet someone pretty quickly if necessary. There are some worrying rumours about both Biggie and Tupac and their demises but I'm sure it will all come out eventually.

Public figures do not owe us anything. They share their art with the public we have no right to the rest of their lives

Edited

Not in prison he isn't. People will start talking soon
I think a lot of celebs are going to have a major fall from grace.

Beyonce has never said anything about anyone. She rarely voices any opinion unless being paid a lot of money for it. I'm certainly not shocked by her silence.

Eminem has been saying stuff for a while, he's got that song about Diddy and sexually assaults. There's a few other smaler artists that have been basically kicked out of the industry for trying to bring it up years ago. Diddy was so powerful and to a certain degree still is, you can understand why silence is easier.

SonicTheHodgeheg · 29/09/2024 22:31

Diddy/Jay-Z are also frequently mentioned in Tupac and Aaliyah’s deaths too.

Diddy got away with using a gun in a nightclub shooting back when he was dating J-Lo too. I wouldn’t risk my life when he’s been able ho behave like this for decades.

I’ve seen a video where Tupac mentions him but I didn’t know about Aaliyah- she died in a helicopter crash didn’t she? I was at Reading Festival and Eminem told the crowd and asked for silence for a minute.
God this is so far reaching.

All while Beyonce calmly stood by and watched, as if her sister had merely dropped her phone or something. The woman is full of shit. Sings a decent song and is beautiful but talks hypocritical rubbish and has shown herself to have the personality of a spoon.

Really?! People have been staying here was involved since the day both deaths happened. He purified the most from Biggies death and Tupac said he was out to kill him after he was shit the first time in New York. Hell, Suge Knight has been saying it to anyone who would listen for decades - and it takes one to know one.

Pinktruffle · 29/09/2024 23:25

That should say profited not purified. Stupid phone
