To be disgusted by the Deafening Silence of Celebrities in the wake of Diddy allegations?

I can't be the only one who's deeply troubled by the silence from certain A-list celebrities following the recent allegations against Sean Combs aka Diddy. It's been weeks since the news broke, and the lack of response from some of his closest associates in the industry is, quite frankly, disturbing.

Let's talk about Jay-Z and Beyoncé, for instance. These two have been thick as thieves with him for years. Countless collaborations, public appearances, and even vacations together. And now? Radio silence. Not even a peep about condemning the alleged actions or distancing themselves from him. It's baffling.

Ashton Kutcher is another one who's keeping silent. Given his vocal stance against human trafficking and exploitation, you'd think he'd be the first to speak up. But nope, nothing.

Now, I want to tread carefully when it comes to Usher and Justin Bieber. There's been speculation about their own experiences, and if they were indeed victims themselves, I absolutely respect their right to process this privately. No one should be forced to relive trauma or speak out if they're not ready.

But for those who weren't victimised? Their silence is deafening. How hard is it to release a statement saying, "I don't condone these actions" or "I had no knowledge of these alleged crimes"? Anything would be better than this awkward void.

I'm honestly shocked that there hasn't been more public backlash against these silent celebrities. In an era where "cancel culture" can be triggered by a misplaced tweet, how are they getting a free pass? Having your longtime friend and associate arrested on such serious charges, and you can't even muster up a word of condemnation? It's beyond disappointing.

What do you all think? Am I being too harsh, or is this silence truly inexcusable? Should we, as consumers and fans, be demanding more accountability from these public figures?

I remember being disgusted at the music videos of the time (especially early 2000s) and how women were portrayed and then if you go as far to actually listen to the lyrics, it's far worse.

Melania90 · 30/09/2024 00:15

And then there’s Oprah and the young girls going missing from the ‘school’ she had set up in Africa… yeah I can see how the women were involved.

The Carters are definitely going down.

Puttheneedleontherackets · 30/09/2024 00:19

@Melania90 So Oprah did something to them? This is utterly bizarre.
How would Beyoncé have been involved in all this?

RisingSunn · 30/09/2024 00:19

And now he’s being investigated by British police…

If the women are involved, they’re recruiting. There’s money to be made from trafficking. Oprah and Beyoncé love money.

It’s really not beyond belief. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Most people were there willingly but Diddy drugged their drinks to get them to submit into doing things they wouldn't otherwise do if they were sober or tipsy.

Surely forcing people to take drugs then making them have sex is rape. You can't consent if you're under the influence.

crinkletits · 30/09/2024 00:30

There's been a laughable conspiracy theory going back many years. But a few things are starting to come true. It's an open secret that diddy is gay and that JLo was a beard and Cassie and Kim. A number of people around PD have died of pneumonia which has worked out well for him. Will Smith, had a, Ashton, Jay z etc all went to the parties. There's a ludicrous story and Jay z and Bey having their own orphanage and kids go missing it's not just Oprah. All laughable until the last few weeks.

SonicTheHodgeheg · 30/09/2024 00:31

Puttheneedleontherackets · 30/09/2024 00:04

So did the sex workers consent/agree to be there or against their will?

What did Ashton and Will do? Have sex with the workers? And how could Jlo & Beyoncé be involved?

Did Pd abuse Justin B

Justin hasn’t said anything but there’s clips of Usher saying that he saw unbelievable things while living at Diddy’s house (no specific details)

Lots of videos atm of Justin looking stressed. He’s had problems with substances in the past and people have wondered if it’s linked to his time with Diddy or a product of being in the industry and fame at a young age etc

If you partied at Diddy's mansion, you knew what was going on. Jay Z shot several music videos on Epstein Island! You think they weren't involved with him too! Jay Z is heavily implicated in all of this. Do you think Mrs Carter doesn't know what's going on?

I had this same conversation with my DP last night. He said women don't get involved in this stuff and I said they do if they love money and get blinded by it.

Money
Fear

And power

Melania90 · 30/09/2024 00:43

Also, come on, what kind of woman would marry a convicted criminal? One that doesn’t care if her husband is a convicted criminal. Beyoncé is no saint.

Demonhunter · 30/09/2024 00:45

Suge Knight has been shouting it out from his prison cell too. All of the Death Row and West Coast hip hop lot have been alluding to this for years, probably not outright saying what the craic is incase they end up like Pac and Biggie. They've always said he was behind those.

ChewbaccasMrs · 30/09/2024 00:49

Puttheneedleontherackets · 29/09/2024 23:49

I don’t understand it, what exactly has he done and what has Beyoncé, Will smith and J lo done-in what way would the females be involved…and Ashton kutcher too? Doing what ?

Also what is it about Justin Beiber? What are they saying happened to him?

There are reports going around that Jay Z was heavily involved with P Diddy and what was going on at the party's,there are also people reporting that J Lo and Beyonce were both aware of what happened to lots of people at these party's and may have been involved themselves.

What's been said about Will Smith is even worse but there are stories being shared that he allowed P.diddy to harm his daughter Willow as far Justin Bieber there's a lot of stories and reports being shared that allege that P.diddy sexually abused Justin Bieber.

Like most people I have know way of knowing what's the truth and what isn't but I would imagine there are tons of stars in America bricking it right now and I just pray they keep the poor souls who testify safe and that they get justice.

People said the same thing to Katt Williams and Jaguar Wright for years, called what they said far fetched, crazy etc. They've openly said it yet not one of the allegations by them has been challenged, no legal action, no threats of defamation, they just threatened to end their careers by having them shunned. You can't claim defamation if it's true and we know celebs are the first to take legal action against lies. Any legal action would delve into things they don't want to be exposed.

They are probably all thinking ohhh shit and running to their own lawyers quick

murasaki · 30/09/2024 01:08

Mary J Blige is another big name in the firing line, according to what I've read.

Ponderingwindow · 30/09/2024 01:14

I hate that public figures feel it necessary to issue banal statements and insert themselves into situations for which they are only tangentially related.

Either these people knew nothing about his behavior and there is nothing meaningful for them to say, or they were aware and they need to keep their mouths shut while the legal case progresses.

notaurewhatusername · 29/09/2024 21:09

@UmbrellaEllaEllaElla exactly but I wish they would all lose their followers as a result of this as it's completely wrong.

If I had a best mate that was arrested for a crime I'd say SOMETHING.

It's safe to say I won't attend a Beyoncé concert again

Would you say something before they are convicted? Potentially opening your brand up to financial loss, repetitional damage and a lawsuit?

Also remember they would have seen a lot of this first hand and known some of the alleged victims. Their perspective may be very different to what we are reading.

Drinkdrinkduuurink · 30/09/2024 01:21

LBFseBrom · 29/09/2024 21:14

I think you may be right in this case. I only vaguely know of him and haven't read about the allegations. i will google now as the op is concerned about it all.

Rap stars just aren't that big in the UK, certainly in comparison to the like of Bowie, Beatles, The Stones, Queen etc. (sole exception being Eminem, although even Eminem doesn't have an album that sold huge here).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_albums_in_the_United_Kingdom

Tupac Shakur, a huge name in the US with multi million selling albums, barely registered in the UK.

Not sure what it's like elsewhere in the world outside the US, but I think the reason why rap doesn't have the same status here is the rich history of rock and pop artists here who overshadow it, plus it doesn't really speak to people here as it is so entrenced in the African American experience which we cannot relate to (similar reason why country music doesn't have the same status here).

So this news (albeit a major scandal) about a vaguely familiar rap star won't really cut through to the mainstream like the US and other places.

Paying victims didn't help Weinstein. People poured out of the woodwork to condemn Weinstein before he ever went to trial. All we heard when he and Cosby were charged was the #MeToo movement. Now, it's all quiet. Why this time?
If we believe some women and what they say, how come we aren't believing them now?

AnnoyedAsAllHeck · 30/09/2024 02:59

BESTAUNTB · 29/09/2024 21:31

They’ll have been advised by lawyers/PRs to stay silent on this topic I suppose.

What is Beyoncé and her husband alleged to have done? Other than been in his social circle.

With Epstein, only Ghislaine Maxwell was ever sent down. Foul as she is, that’s not right. I wonder if a woman will carry the can for this scandal.

The Epstein debacle should not be allowed to stand. The government (Feds) have the list and the info, and they should release it and let the chips fall where they may. It is wrong and quite disgusting to know that we have sexual predators out there that have not been named.

I think they’re all shitting themselves. That’s why.

100% this! If they're totally innocent their 'people' would want them shouting that from the rooftops. It's guilty people who have 'no comment'.
