To be disgusted by the Deafening Silence of Celebrities in the wake of Diddy allegations?

I can't be the only one who's deeply troubled by the silence from certain A-list celebrities following the recent allegations against Sean Combs aka Diddy. It's been weeks since the news broke, and the lack of response from some of his closest associates in the industry is, quite frankly, disturbing.

Let's talk about Jay-Z and Beyoncé, for instance. These two have been thick as thieves with him for years. Countless collaborations, public appearances, and even vacations together. And now? Radio silence. Not even a peep about condemning the alleged actions or distancing themselves from him. It's baffling.

Ashton Kutcher is another one who's keeping silent. Given his vocal stance against human trafficking and exploitation, you'd think he'd be the first to speak up. But nope, nothing.

Now, I want to tread carefully when it comes to Usher and Justin Bieber. There's been speculation about their own experiences, and if they were indeed victims themselves, I absolutely respect their right to process this privately. No one should be forced to relive trauma or speak out if they're not ready.

But for those who weren't victimised? Their silence is deafening. How hard is it to release a statement saying, "I don't condone these actions" or "I had no knowledge of these alleged crimes"? Anything would be better than this awkward void.

I'm honestly shocked that there hasn't been more public backlash against these silent celebrities. In an era where "cancel culture" can be triggered by a misplaced tweet, how are they getting a free pass? Having your longtime friend and associate arrested on such serious charges, and you can't even muster up a word of condemnation? It's beyond disappointing.

What do you all think? Am I being too harsh, or is this silence truly inexcusable? Should we, as consumers and fans, be demanding more accountability from these public figures?

Looks like Diddy has changed his legal team and is going to appeal his bail decision. Hopefully he is denied again because it looks like he has form for trying to intimidate witnesses. I can't imagine how terrifying it will be for anyone who has been subpoenaed if they release him from prison before a trial.

The more I read about him the more sinister he seems.

Pureshores499 · 01/10/2024 18:12

I think this will implode and will potentially unmask a lot of other celebrities who were involved/in the know. Potentially they have been legally advised to stay quiet if their names are 'on the list' as it were. I have a gut feeling this might be a big old hit for the Hollywood elite. If he talks...and isn't founded hanged...I'm guessing there will be many names of celebs who attended his strange Freakoff parties.

I think I can kind of see why people might think Will is…

I agree, I don't think that would be surprising to be fair!

If Leonardo decaprio was using young women as 'beards', would it not make sense for them to be closer to his own age?

I think the truth of him is as simple and borderline sleezy as it looks. He likes young women.

Yeah that’s what I don’t get. He draws so much attention to himself by cavorting on yachts with bikini-clad 21 year olds. If he needed a beard he’d go under the radar if his girlfriend were 45 and they kept it lowkey.

Another 120 accusers have come forward today via a lawyer. Several were children when they say he abused them. One only 9 years old Sad.

Rumours of children being picked off a "party favours" table and returned to be picked again after they had been abused. Some of the names attached to those stories are very unexpected. Nothing has been confirmed in a formal way but the depravity involved in this while story makes it believable.

lizzyBennet08 · 01/10/2024 21:36

Honestly I've never been a fan of the witch hunt that exists when someone is convicted of doing something terrible . The media trawls through their social media looking for other people who were ever pictured with them and tries to drag them into what ever horrible deed that person did.
People are unaware of abusers in their own family that they live with. I don't assume that just because someone socialised with someone a few times then they 'should have known' or should be tarnished ias similar
I don't feel it's Beyoncé's responsibility to comment on his crimes .

@FOJN Where does it say the names of the people connected to the kids?

Kids in the system who were supplied by CPS apparently. Look up Alyson Carter as a starting point. She and several others submitted Affidavits previously against CPS for this exact thing and they got buried.

She'll have to answer for what her and her husband have been upto, unless Z can somehow bury it all so wouldn't worry about her having to speak about Diddy.

Denzel has been named by accusers too!! I'm shocked by that one.

Puttheneedleontherackets · 01/10/2024 23:11

Who else has been named?

applejackson · 01/10/2024 23:15

Why would Child Protection Services supply children to anyone? How could that ever happen?

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 01/10/2024 23:18

It's really up to the public to stop being so sycophantic about 'celebs', isn't it? I mean, the amount of fawning that is evident on this site, it's a bit sickening. Hold these people to account by all means, we should definitely do that, but why make other 'celebs' responsible for that? They will never do this, they are reliant on an adoring public who never disappoints and carries on paying them.

The last 'hero' was John Lydon about Savile and he gave no shits about not being believed either. Principled man.

Putting human beings on pedestal is never a good idea.

Demonhunter · 01/10/2024 23:20

Puttheneedleontherackets · 01/10/2024 23:11

Who else has been named?

Apart from Diddy and Denzel the only concrete names I've seen in a legal document are Birdman and Yung Joc. But the rest of the names will no doubt be emerging soon. What's been said too is that even though lots of celebs were only at the white party and not the freak offs, they were well aware there was kids there and just ignored why! So complicit if not actively involved.

notaurewhatusername · 01/10/2024 23:28

I hope denzel isn't involved. He's such a stand up guy or at least appears to be in interviews

But where are these names written?

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 01/10/2024 23:32

All the people you list will have signed NDAs. These people don't have "friendships" in the same way normal folk do.

Puttheneedleontherackets · 01/10/2024 23:29

In the affidavit of Alyson Carter, one of the girls who was supplied by CPS when she was 15.

soupfiend · 01/10/2024 23:35

Who has made an allegation against Denzel?

I watched the news clip above and no other names are mentioned

However I do find it incredible that much of rap or similar music, plus the visuals is based on objectifying and denigrating women, exaggerating violence and crime as a lifestyle/power and money as a lifestyle and then people are surprised when the artists are power hungry, violent, misogynistic perpetrators?

Why the surprise?

Demonhunter · 01/10/2024 23:39

On a previous comment I posted the name of what to search for, for one of her videos as MN hid the link I sent.

This is another part of it, if it doesn't get hidden.

I haven't seen anyone surprised by the musicians?
