To be disgusted by the Deafening Silence of Celebrities in the wake of Diddy allegations?

I can't be the only one who's deeply troubled by the silence from certain A-list celebrities following the recent allegations against Sean Combs aka Diddy. It's been weeks since the news broke, and the lack of response from some of his closest associates in the industry is, quite frankly, disturbing.

Let's talk about Jay-Z and Beyoncé, for instance. These two have been thick as thieves with him for years. Countless collaborations, public appearances, and even vacations together. And now? Radio silence. Not even a peep about condemning the alleged actions or distancing themselves from him. It's baffling.

Ashton Kutcher is another one who's keeping silent. Given his vocal stance against human trafficking and exploitation, you'd think he'd be the first to speak up. But nope, nothing.

Now, I want to tread carefully when it comes to Usher and Justin Bieber. There's been speculation about their own experiences, and if they were indeed victims themselves, I absolutely respect their right to process this privately. No one should be forced to relive trauma or speak out if they're not ready.

But for those who weren't victimised? Their silence is deafening. How hard is it to release a statement saying, "I don't condone these actions" or "I had no knowledge of these alleged crimes"? Anything would be better than this awkward void.

I'm honestly shocked that there hasn't been more public backlash against these silent celebrities. In an era where "cancel culture" can be triggered by a misplaced tweet, how are they getting a free pass? Having your longtime friend and associate arrested on such serious charges, and you can't even muster up a word of condemnation? It's beyond disappointing.

What do you all think? Am I being too harsh, or is this silence truly inexcusable? Should we, as consumers and fans, be demanding more accountability from these public figures?

No, he was mentioned once as a celebrity associate, because Diddy performed at the event to remember Diana. It doesn’t say he attended a party. From the Independent:

There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing by the prince, and his name is only mentioned once in the documents as an example of a well-known celebrity associate of Combs.

Had to google the whole thing. As a poster said above, to much of the UK it's simply not even a newsworthy item, let alone an issue.

It's only defamation if it's not true, and if you specifically name a person in relation to the statement. Considering how hard Katt Williams, Jaguar Wright, Dave Chappelle and the West Coast lot have gone at this and actually named names, if there was any defamation happening it would have happened by now.

Harry and William were seen at an event where Diddy performed at the Princess Diana Memorial Concert at Wembley Arena. There is no suggestion that he ever attended a Diddy party.

If you’re saying Harry attended a Diddy party and has ‘jaded tastes and ennui lead to seeking more and more depraved outlets’ then you’re skating close to defamation.

I'm an old woman with zero interest in zleb culture but even I know this guy is dubious and has been considered to be so for a very long time so who's surprised? As for zleb mates, I expect self interest rules. It usually does.

And the one you have decided to change it to, nothing defamatory about that. They said he was allegedly at a party and I said that some people were told to leave at a certain time, so they weren't involved in the dark stuff. So even if it was true he was there, nothing at all suggests he's involved in anything depraved.

Well, that's the alleged story yes, I don't think anyone kind of confirms for sure it's true, it's just alleged. DPs screenwriter friend moved out of LA and won't go to any parties of any celebs, apparently that's pretty common for the majority of those behind the scenes, he says being sucked into that world holds no appeal for the average industry worker vs the execs and stars.

His actor friend is really normal too, bit manic and flaky but normal, he's low level famous, no one huge and has been in the industry since he was a child and thinks that whole scene is unappealing, also has a few suspicions about a few directors and their creepiness but again, without full proof, wouldn't make claims. He's had good influences in the industry from being young too.

The link I’ve found most shocking is Will Smith being with him, although I did see something a year ago with a bodyguard coming out to say he walked in on WS with another man.
