Did you know who Cat Deeley was before she joined This Morning?

When Cat Deeley became presenter of This Morning earlier this year I had not heard of her before, some of my friends are surprised that I did not know who she was. (We are all in our 40's by the way) I knew who Holly Willoughby was though.

Am I weird in never having heard of her before?

I knew her from the Saturday morning programme with Ant and Dec.

Judgejudysno1fan · 16/09/2024 17:44

She's utterly gorgeous and was great In SMTV With ant and Dec, she was good fun in the chums segment and she did CDUK with a pop version of duh duh duh whole lotta love intro.

Dearg · 16/09/2024 17:44

I am 63 and knew who she was, but not have listed tv shows she’d done without googling,

Tiswa · 16/09/2024 17:44

Wasn’t SMTV live classic hangover Saturday morning TV though was for me at Uni in the late 1990’s

ImthatBoleyngirl · 16/09/2024 17:45

Yes. SMTV and MTV

sharpclawedkitten · 16/09/2024 17:46

I think she was on MTV in the late 90s.

Paddy Keilty. Not ugly, and one of the funniest people om the planet

ThingsgetbetterwithalittlebitofRazzmatazz · 16/09/2024 17:47

I had no idea she was on this morning until I read this thread, but of course I know her from SMTV live. Also in my 40s, I'd be very surprised to hear of anyone in their 40s who grew up the the UK and didn't know who she is.

OutOutt · 16/09/2024 17:48

Absolutely.

Adored SMTV growing up.

AdoraBell · 16/09/2024 17:48

I know the name but couldn’t tell you what most celebrities do.

Bellatrixpure · 16/09/2024 17:48

Yes, my favourite thing was Chums with Ant and Dec on SMTV. Made
my Saturday mornings at university

Alconleigh · 16/09/2024 17:48

Yep; 48 and SMTV was required hangover viewing!

ThatsNotMyTeen · 16/09/2024 17:48

Yes, I’m 51

AdoraBell · 16/09/2024 17:49

I’m mid 50’s.

KendraTheVampyrSlayer · 16/09/2024 17:49

Well yeah, of course! Couldn't have gotten through Saturday morning hangovers without Cat, Ant & Dec on SMTV.

GlitchStitch · 16/09/2024 17:49

Yes of course, she was a big name. She used to date Huey from Fun Lovin' Criminals.

She also took over from Matthew Kelly on Stars in their Eyes, and presented So You Think You Can Dance in both UK and USA.

I'm mid 40s and I don't understand how you could have missed her!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 16/09/2024 17:51

Definitely knew her for all reasons given

LolaLouise · 16/09/2024 17:51

She presented fame academy too, she was always at the brits and comic relief and stuff like that, game shows like big fact quiz. She was every where in the early 2000's!

Agreed

autienotnaughty · 16/09/2024 17:52

I'm in my 40's I loved smtv live.

Don't know much else she's done. She's lived in America for a while doing a dance show.

SerenityNowInsanityLater · 16/09/2024 17:52

I’m 52. Her name is somewhere in the mothballed ‘90s sector of my brain. I remember moving to the UK in ‘95 and she was kind of everywhere. I thought she was the quintessential British Beauty.

IMustDoMoreExercise · 16/09/2024 17:52

I wish she would stop saying "for sure" on This Morning.

I don't like her as a presenter. But I suppose that ITV need to sell their fashion items so they need someone who looks good.

Tiswa · 16/09/2024 17:54

NewSchoolYearRevamp · 16/09/2024 17:52

My favourite was wonky donkey but not sure Cat was part of that.

Chums was always good fun.
